The "earthquake" is basically the same as an emission wave from S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat). In the game, you get a small radio announcement that goes something like.. "Stalkers! An emission is approaching! Find cover immediately!" And the sky keeps turning redder and redder, until eventually there's a huge blowout, which insta-kills EVERYTHING outside that hasn't had any kind of cover. This means that you can easily run into dead people on the roads and you might see birds still falling from the sky if you run straight outside after the blowout. If you hadn't realized yet -- Namalsk is a map based on the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, hence the addition/existence of Bloodsuckers, the earth anomaly at A1, and the bunker at A2. And Vorkuta is most likely implied to be Pripyat, the final area of the third game in the series. -

We(or at least the majority of us) understand why it's better that you take your time. I believe the apology is unnecessary, though not entirely pointless. You simply have a large player-base that is very anxious to get their hands on the standalone, which, I'd say is rather justified.- 254 replies

Of course. DayZ is a free mod. You can use Six Launcher, or DayZ Commander to download DayZ for free. http://dayzmod.com/?Download Though you need ARMA 2 and ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead to actually play the mod.

Technically a server admin can do anything. Even change the mod/map/models/weapons entirely to their liking. As long as you know how to do it, and the engine is capable of handling it, you can do it on your server. -

Ran up to him, bandaged him and told him I'd give him morphine once he woke up. (He was unarmed.) Once he woke up, he waited for me to start giving him a blood transfusion, and used to chance to go into my backpack and pick up my AS50 and attempted to fire at me with it. But being the clever person that I am, I kept all my ammo in my inventory instead of the backpack, so all that was heard as clicking, until I shot half a clip into his head. "Tsk, tsk." were my last words for him.- 136 replies

Can't for the life of me figure out how to improve FPS

I'm noticing a pretty big trend in i7 processors and people having much lower FPS than they should. I have an i5-3570k, GTX 670 and 8Gb of RAM, and I can run DayZ with everything maxed out, at a pretty stable 50 FPS. -

"As long as you have their ok it is all good." That I agree with, wholeheartedly. But, I tried looking around for about half an hour on who made the Wasteland mod, and quite frankly, I couldn't find anything. (Meaning, I can't say you're lying, nor can I say that you're correct.) So would you mind finding me a link to an official site or something? Where it clearly says that it was made by 'Rocket' Dean Hall? -

Didn't learn enough from WarZ, did you? You can't just blatantly copy one thing from something else and slap it onto something you made, in the game industry. Even though nobody can copyright a game mechanic, the people will be up in arms about it regardless of what the law says. (Which is the case with WarZ.) And.. While DayZ mod is/was used to sketch out ideas for the standalone, it's not going to be continuously used to try out ideas first. Because now that they have the standalone, they can freely modify DayZ as they please, regardless of 'engine limitations.' (To some degree.) If you did that, everyone who tried to join your server would be prevented to play because of invalid dayz_code.pbo unless they downloaded it from somewhere where you made it available. Same with any and all files that you had to add for it. -

The DayZ Standalone was announced to have underground base-building long before Wasteland even existed. (If my understanding of Wasteland's announcement date is correct.) -

He isn't asking to be unbanned, though. He's asking why only one of his PC's has a ban. Are you trying to join the same server on both computers? I have a feeling you were "fake banned" by a server admin. They just write "BattleEye: Global Ban #xxxxx" as a reason for kick. It's not an actual global ban.

This has been suggested several times over. (Personal count is 9 threads that I've seen.) In DayZ, the world has gone to hell. And us, the players, are the small minority of people who are immune to the virus, hence why we don't get affected and get turned into zombies. Which is why I'm slowly turning against this idea, aside from seeing it suggested over and over. -

The difference is that these chat channels(which can be found in DayZ) are also in ARMA 2, the vanilla game. So Rocket didn't make these. - Direct Communications - Vehicle Channel - Group Channel - Global Channel - Side-Chat
