Instance ID is not getting activated?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Anbieter's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Be glad you didn't buy an entire server for yourself and rent a connection for it. You can still make it a private hive, and it doesn't even cost anything nor does it require you to wait for anyone to approve you. -
Instance ID is not getting activated?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Anbieter's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
It's normal for it to take that long. Just keep waiting, most of the servers are being put up as private hives, and most of the DayZ resources have been moved towards the Standalone. -
DayZ Origins...Help?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Thorsblood's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
My post is pointless clutter and should be removed. :I Misread some stuff. (Also, can't answer any of the questions because I haven't played Origins.) -
I'm new, where should I start?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to MrONEBADDUDE (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
First off; http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/124927-current-problems-with-the-steam-version-of-dayz-mod/ Personally I recommend that you download DayZ Commander instead of using the Steam version. My reasoning is all in the link above. This is where you can get DayZ Commander. It's at the very bottom of the page: http://www.dayzcommander.com/ -
How do I update DayZ with Steam?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to ShardTheOwl's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
You can't manually update DayZ with Steam. The 1.6.2 version most likely refers to ARMA 2, not DayZ. Edit; Steam keeps your DayZ in its latest version automatically. -
Remember that you need to buy Combined Operations to make sure you buy BOTH, ARMA 2 and ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead. It won't work with just one or the other.

Why is DayZ so beautiful?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Invalid (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The word "beautiful" doesn't mean "good looking" in the OP's case. And ARMA 2 has pretty hideous graphics in today's gaming world. -
Current problems with the Steam version of DayZ mod
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Dancing.Russian.Man's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yes. You might actually want to buy the two games first. (And yeah, this thread is doomed to derail. Saw it coming since the first mention of the Standalone.) -
That's.. Probably not enough. You'd take a year to even download ARMA 2 and ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead. I'm amazed you've even managed to post on these forums.

Why is DayZ so beautiful?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Invalid (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Hnngh.. The hatchet is not a "quick mod." ARMA 2 is not poorly optimized because it's a simulator. There is, or ever was a melee system in the ARMA 2 engine, so they made a weapon with a very short range, changed the model to an axe, removed muzzle flash(made it "silenced"), and changed the gunshot sound to a quiet swing. The hatchet is a remodeled gun. With 99999 ammo in a single clip. A gun doesn't have a clip in it until you've manually reloaded it first. That's why you need to reload it the first time you pick one up. As for optimization, I have no idea. -
What do I install? Vanilla, Arrowhead or both?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to MysteriousPinkFluff's topic in New Player Discussion
Both. Why else do you think you needed both of them? -
Game crashes when i shoot
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Dragonx1st's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Use an older patch. -
Killing (person or zombie) cause teh crash of the game.
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Rosso's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Use an older beta-patch. The newer ones crash DayZ a lot, it appears. -
Repeat offender - Can't get rid of him
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Noobsack's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Just looking at the screenshot gave me the instant fix for all of it. Ban his IP. (Edit; Yes, an IP can be changed as well, much easier than a GUID, but still. More effort on his part, which will eventually make him want to just find another server.) -
Here, let's all describe DayZ in one word

FPS Optimization/Increase Help
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Dbrow's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Eh, Phenom X4 975 isn't very great of a CPU. I'd strongly recommend getting something like a i5-3570k. Your graphics card could use some upgrading as well, as far as I can tell. -
Hacker Teleported me to Unleaveable Area

More like damn your guy is weak. Do you die of starvation if you don't eat for 150 minutes? If so, my heart goes out to you, and I hope the modern science can find a cure for whatever you're sick with. -
Current problems with the Steam version of DayZ mod
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Dancing.Russian.Man's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It's an add-on. It downloads one folder, called "@dayz" and adds it to your ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead folder with the most up-to-date files that the vanilla DayZ uses. It doesn't change at all from things like PlayWithSix or DayZ Commander. It's just another updater, basically. -
In dayz, which side of the road do you drive on?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to daogn's topic in New Player Discussion
Roads are too mainstream. Seriously, screw roads! (Seriously, but not literally.) -
Current problems with the Steam version of DayZ mod
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Dancing.Russian.Man's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I installed specificly to check out everything that might be wrong. A lot of the things mentioned above I was expecting, so it was easy to notice. It's a nice download if you've already played ARMA 2(and thus understand most errors and "problems" you get with whitelists and such), but have NOT played DayZ yet. If you've played DayZ for any length of time and are using DayZ Commander, there is no reason you should use the Steam version. Edit; A source would be nice(mainly because I'm curious), though it's very possible, since they mentioned a week(6 days) ago that they'll possibly start testing "next week." Edit2; Yup. Totally confirmed now and definitely made my week! -
Steam version and existing older install.

Current problems with the Steam version of DayZ mod
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Dancing.Russian.Man's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
External testing for the DayZ Standalone has not started yet. And when it does, they'll let in about 50 of the "closed alpha testers", then a hundred, and then more when the server structure gets more stable. It'll most likely take more than just two weeks. I think the Steam release of the DayZ mod is there to: 1. Test out the Steam update system from the publisher's side 2. Give an easy start for people who are new to the mod -
Couple Questions...
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to [email protected]'s topic in New Player Discussion
The game doesn't consider any car as "yours." All cars just exist in the world, and will return to their original spawn if nothing interacts with them for a week. -
How to play music on dayZ
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Sourcarrot's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Just looked up what Virtual Audio Cable is. I love you. -
So what will happened when the SA releases?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to pr3llox's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Definitely. There are way more than just 1.5M people playing the mod. The counter was "reset" to around that number some time ago by Rocket, and the private-hives are not counted, which are what DayZ mostly consists of, now.
