So. As a good portion of you people know, there will be no Cola/Pepsi/Heinz according to Smasht_AU. But that doesn't stop us from having a little fun at coming up with DayZ-themed brands and punch-lines for drinks and/or beans -- even concept art of such luxuries. What would YOUR ideal DayZ-inspired brand be? What witty quote would you write on it? Or if you're savvy enough, here's a little tin-can template. By downloading the .PSD, you can have the background removed easily. Or if you can't work with .psd files and don't know how to remove the background, here's a .PNG without a background. Here's my new brand of beanz. And of course, if the mods feel that this doesn't need its own thread(though it only focuses on creating stuff for fun), they can merge this with another thread. Not that you need my permission to do it anyway.

The scoreboard was removed from the mod because it serves no purpose. Currently there is no way to "check your stats" in the DayZ mod.

The netcode of ARMA 2 leaves it impossible to add any kind of "delays" when a client disconnects/loses connection.

Well, considering the fact on how poorly optimized the ARMA 2 engine is, it might conflict with something within the i7 processor. As for microstuttering, I'm clueless.

I have an i5-3570k, GTX670 and 8GBs of RAM, and I can run ARMA 2 / DayZ with maxed out graphic settings. (ARMA 2 needs to have slightly lower draw distance) And I see a lot of people with i7 processors coming onto the DayZ mod forums, complaining about poor performance. That's the one thing I can connect them all with. So I'm letting as many people know as I can that it's a common problem for i7 processors to work kind of poorly with DayZ.

Again with the 5-10 FPS for someone who uses an i7. i7 processors seem to cause a lot of problems for those currently playing the DayZ mod. Wait for the Standalone and try to make due. That's my best advice. (Might not be the general best advice.)

Bandicam gets another vote from me. While FRAPS is very good for outstanding quality (because it records uncompressed video), it's generally a lot better to use other programs like Bandicam, unless you're one who plans to heavily edit their gameplay videos and has a lot of HDD space reserved for recording. (10 minutes of video can easily take up to 4-8GB on FRAPS.)

It's a very common problem that i7 processors perform really badly around cities in ARMA 2 / DayZ. Almost every person that I've seen complaining about poor performance around cities have had an i7. At least a very big portion.

The amount of content you write in your thread doesn't determine how good the concept itself is. But you can remap your keys, you know.

You MUST install the DayZ mod into the same drive as where you installed ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead. You MUST run ARMA 2 and ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead before trying to run the DayZ mod.

Make a private server. You can make as many as you want, instantly. No approval needed. And you don't even have to keep it up-to-date if you don't want to. AND you're allowed to use custom maps if it's a private server. Edit; Damn it.

Do you know how to fly a plane/heli? No? Go fly a plane. Right now. I dare you. No, no one isn't going to explain to you what to do. It's a nice, realistic idea, especially when the helicopters are going to be MUCH more complicated to fly in the Standalone. From what I understood, it'd be just a "How to" tutorial in the form of a hand-book. It instructs you on what to do, but you still have to do the entire process yourself.

Stripped some unrelated things off of his posts. The full, exact posts he made can be found in my signature. Ever since he first posted those two things, I've always kept them there. And those two posts are what I expect from DayZ. Anything that goes against them, I am against.

Not low enough. You're supposed to be scraping the asphalt with your heli, otherwise you're just a scrub pilot like everybody else! (I dig the music, though.)

My and my friend had a great idea back when the tents had to be manually saved, and duping was possible. (Yeah. We duped for shits and giggles! Hate us!) He took a M4A2 Holo and took aim at my feet. Shot. Broke my legs. Fixed them with morphine and gave me a transfusion. Shot. Broke again. We repeated this for a good 30 times before I was like "Okay, just stop. Kill me, I feel so bad for my character that I just want to start off with a new one. I don't feel like running across half the map with legs that have been shattered multiple times on multiple locations on both legs. End his misery. For me."

A flying hatchet to the chest or general mid-section of the body doesn't seem like something you'd survive, even after just one hit.

That's where your problem is, then. Here is the correct path for the DayZ files: Steam\Steamapps\Common\ARMA 2 Operation Arrowhead\@DayZ\Addons\ You need to place all the .pbo and .pbo.dayz.bisign files in the Addons folder.

That should be the most up-to-date version. I assume you used the torrent link. Where did you place the files? Or if you used another method, which link did you use?

(Cleaned up the OP's post to make it more friendly to the eyes. And to possibly avoid a headache.) Could you please post screenshots and/or the exact messages you are getting? As for the v1.62 update, that was for ARMA 2, not DayZ. Where did you first time download the DayZ mod from?
