Low FPS, Bad Performance issues.
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to burlaka's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
i5-3570k, GTX 670, 8GBs of RAM. I get a stable 50 FPS while everything is maxed out. Drops to around 38-43 in cities. And Mel; I have also noticed that people are running A2 and A2:OA just fine even though DayZ lags them to hell. So yeah, I agree. I tend to think that it's the amount of zombies, items within buildings, and zombie spawn points. Most things are being handled client-side because of the ARMA 2 engine, so the amount of things your CPU has to calculate skyrockets around cities, as you have to check for timers and radius's for item and zombie spawns. (Not just those two things, but I'm no developer. I don't fully understand what the engine does, but I like to think I have pretty good theories.) Also it seems like the game is rendering objects and models behind and inside buildings, even if you can't see them. That could understandably hit the graphics card somewhat. -
Loot spawning problems?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Warhog (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Military loot spots are not GUARANTEED to spawn weapons and ammo. If you look at the loot tables, you'd see that all spawn locations have the most common % of spawning junk items such as tin cans, hatchets, broken bottles, and food. (Food isn't exactly a junk item, but you're pretty set for what little short life you're going to have with 6 cans of food.) -
Low FPS, Bad Performance issues.
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to burlaka's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I'm not saying that i7 is the only processor that has this issue. There are several set-ups and components that could cause the issue as well as how the files are installed on the computer. Same with out-dated drivers. But a rough 70-75% of people I see complaining about FPS problems are reporting an i7 processor. This amount of similarity drives me to let others in the same situation to know about it, even if it later on turned out NOT to be the issue. -
A thought about character customization.
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Jeremiah Cross's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Reminds me of Zomboid. Edit; In Zomboid, you start off with 0 trait points when creating a new character. When you pick negative traits, you get more trait points to spend on positive traits. Edit2; There are also "opposites," which you cannot pick if you've picked something that counters it. For example; Light Drinker; half a bottle gets you "dizzy" instead of "buzzed," which has the opposite of Heavy Drinker; you can drink a full bottle of alcohol without getting dizzy. (Or was it the full bottle that got you dizzy? It's been a while.) http://pzwiki.net/wi...zcreatechar.jpg http://pzwiki.net/wiki/Traits -

Low FPS, Bad Performance issues.
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to burlaka's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I blame your i7 processor. Most of the people I see complaining about performance issues and/or low FPS have an i7. Maybe the engine causes it to bottleneck, maybe the engine is just too old, I don't know. -
AKM in a nutshell
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to OfficerRaymond's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Silly Engie. You aren't German. Most weapons without a scope are bodyshot weapons. -
Is there no sub forum for the standalone?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to ck3 (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The Announcements section and/or Twitter and http://dayzgame.com/ ? -
Locked(key, lockpicks, gun)/barricaded(crowbar) doors have already been suggested, I believe. Though I keep supporting the idea. Adds more to the "story" you can come up with for the events of the place you're in.

A couple very annoying things that should be fixed IMO
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Noquid's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
This obviously isn't a game for you. Play it properly or don't complain. -
Why not sling your axe to swing your rifle? Personally that's the way I would do it.

How does everyone else feel?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to deewreck's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Some people like the power they have while using a sniper rifle. It just takes so little to erase the entire progress of another player. Just.. point and.. click. Gone. The player has to start over because you made him. Some people are mentally rewarded by that superiority. Obviously not everybody. -
Off-topic or not, but zombies will not be slowed down in the Standalone. I believe the "speed reduction" is only there because of the AI in ARMA 2.

AKM in a nutshell

No, that's not "in a nutshell." AKM in a nutshell is.. Bodyshots. -
Arma3 Alpha release potential Impact on Dayz Mod/SA
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to OrLoK's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I can totally see DayZ being ported over to A3, but not QUICKLY. (Though, the popularity of the mod might prove me wrong.) But will A3 lower my expectations from DayZ? No. Two different games. Will it raise my expectations? No. I don't want Rocket to work harder just because of an AAA title that's been worked on for ages. I want quality, not quantity. -
Things I want to see in the standalone!
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to leviski's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Actually, if there is no source for light anywhere, your eyes cannot get used to the darkness. So if you don't have moonlight(cloudy night), and no city lights anywhere in the horizon, you will see just as good as you do in DayZ. That said, there ARE moonlit nights in DayZ, and you ARE able to see even without NVGs. It's dark as balls, but you can aim at zombies and players that are close to you. -
bad serial given in set up
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to matt6950's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
May I ask who the 'well respected' Youtuber was? And what is the program that works as a "CD-key stealer detector?" -
Custom textures/drawings on clothes...
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to CodeCave's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Dot, dot, dot. According to all the things Rocket has said, I can pretty safely say that this is not going to happen. He wants the Standalone to work like an MMO; Most things being server-side, with VERY little ability to customize the client yourself. (And if you do, you're obviously up for a ban.) Edit; Though I'm not saying your suggestion is bad. Moddability is nice, but not really something the DayZ is moving towards. -
Replace the AS50 and M107 with the KSVK?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to V2_Danny's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
As far as BALANCE goes, you have my approval. As far as anti-material rifles in a zombie survival game goes.. Just get rid of them all. (Which is my final vote.) The mod doesn't really bother me anymore, no matter what you can get in-game. All I'm concerned about at the moment is the Standalone. -
I'm tired, and up for over 24 hours. Sorry for the attitude. Let's try again; http://steamcommunity.com/app/33930/discussions/1/864961175465159223/ See if the error you get is listed there. I've been spending most of my time over the past day or two just helping people on the Steam forums, and decided to make a list.

VERY confused about Backpacks.
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to tals975's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
That info is not accurate as far as -I- know.. -
I blame your processor; Not because it's a bad one, but because most other people coming here with FPS problems also seem to have an i7 processor of some kind. I only have an i5-3570k, GTX 670 and 8GB of RAM and I'm doing fine with maxed out settings.

bad version. connection failed
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to policeiu's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Are you sure the server(s) weren't running on unofficial maps, or even unofficial mods like DayZ+?
