Dayz global ban error
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Feartehfatman (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
If you were Global Banned, there is nothing anybody on these forums can do. The main developer, Dean 'Rocket' Hall is only the creator of a mod. He has no control over Global Bans by BattlEye. The mods on these forums are also powerless, as all they can do is moderate this forum, by locking/moving/editing posts/threads and banning those violating the forum rules. If you want to make a ban appeal on your Global Ban, please contact BattlEye, and wait for their response. If you cannot do one or the other, then there is no chance for you and frankly, should find another game to play. http://www.battleye.com/support.html - Information on how to appeal to Global Bans. (FAQ & Email) In your face, fast thread-locking mods. -
Low FPS, Bad Performance issues.
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to burlaka's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I've never stated anywhere that I'm some hardware expert. No, I can't honestly say I know much of a difference between 'mobile' chips and the ones for desktop computers. This does not make me an idiot, however. I've simply never needed the information so far. My life has been pretty smooth in terms of computers without me knowing the difference. I've never said that i7 processors are generally bad, either. Actually that's the opposite of what I think. But in the case of ARMA 2 and DayZ, I've noticed that the majority of people who have performance issues(FPS, momentary freezing) are using an i7 processor. So I point it out as a possible issue due to the vast similarity. I have an i5-3570k. I have no problems running the game at max settings with about 50 FPS. So I find it very weird that those people with an i7 -- especially in a CPU-heavy game like ARMA 2 -- have lower performance than I do. This is why it catches my eye, and the reason why I point it out. Again, just so you don't come around repeating yourself and throwing out insults at people you don't know the backstory on, and assume as of lower intelligence than yourself because of a single thing they don't understand; I'm a software-person. Not a hardware one. By calling me an idiot you've only given me the pleasure to shrug you off like dirt my shoulder and behave above the level of maturity you've set on yourself. Edit; No I have not. Everything is as they come out-of-the-box. -
Would this help me to get more fps in dayz?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to xnokiax8's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Upgrade your processor(CPU) first. ARMA 2 is a very CPU-heavy game. -
DayZ plugin & Standalone suggestion.
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Nhz (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
No. I mean, seriously? Thermal scopes in a zombie apocalypse? I guess that's technically possible, but does it have to be? No. Just make the regular snipers (Like those similar to CZ550 or DMR at MOST) the rarest weapons in the game. No need for obviously overpowered weapons. -
It's an ARMA 2 mechanic, not DayZ. You didn't lose any progress, just join the server again before complaining here.

New CD key, still banned
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to alanford's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I have a lot of smart things to say, and I KNOW that I have a solution that works without you having to change your IP. It's not a complicated process, far from. But the amount of hackers already polluting the mod, I've no desire to help those that had their CD-key banned by BattlEye. Thank you for making yourself look like some mentally immature person. I never insulted you, so why would you do so to me? I think that makes you more of a "cunt" than I am for not wanting to even accidentally help a hacker back into the game. And unlike you, I'm willing to debate, rather than just stating "oh, you're just this and that and I won't bother with you." Edit; If you want to go around throwing around insults, then at least pick someone who can be insulted. Because right now, you've come to these forums only to ask help on how to get unbanned from a game you got banned from. Me? I've helped this community, the mod's development, and several people having issues even getting into the game. Want an example? http://steamcommunity.com/app/33930/discussions/1/864961175465159223/ Before you come commenting back to me with another insult, find something good that you've done for people and their issues, with proof. -
New CD key, still banned
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to alanford's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I believe everyone who has posted so far hasn't provided a solution that works. Good. Because I don't want to risk a possible hacker getting back into the game. (Be it the OP or his "roommate.") -
The way Whitelisting works, is that you have a list where you'll be writing each individual GUID that is allowed to play on your server. If it's no on the list, it's not getting on the server. Generally speaking, it will greatly hamper your server's population, UNLESS you have a bunch of regular players, a community, or a website.

New pc, reinstall arma?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
The thing that makes Steam great is that you can install any game as many times as you want, as long as you have Steam on the computer and logged in on an account that owns the game you're trying to install. It's not like physical CDs that only allow you to install the game once. (Edit; Or several times, if you uninstall the game first.) -
Super server-hopper stopper! Invisi-loot™!
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Xianyu's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I can approve of this suggestion. But I'd like to point out a few things. - Loot doesn't spawn every 10 minutes in the Standalone (from what I've understood). - If you have a gun, you can still server-hop on a hill or other strategic location to kill players, and loot them instead. Edit; I like the 'accumulating total cool-down timer' idea Fraggle has, as well. -
The Standalone will not be using the ARMA 3 engine, sadly. Though it won't be using just the ARMA 2's, either. I really doubt the DayZ mod will be developed onto ARMA 3 by the official DayZ team, but there's nothing stopping fans to recreate it on the ARMA 3 engine.

Does Dayz use up a lot of Internet?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to embrace's topic in New Player Discussion
There are several ISPs and internet-plans that are limited to a specific amount of data per month. (Not just for phones) They are usually cheap connections. Either in terms of price or just generally pretty slow. -
Two Different GUIDs
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
You'd have to change your active CD-key(which is done by editing your registry), but that wouldn't work as far as I know, since the other key you have from the physical CD isn't compatible with Steam because of the fact that you've already activated it. (Edit; You can only add new keys onto Steam if they're unused. If you buy a physical copy, the CD-key works as long as you don't install it, assuming the installation doesn't automatically ask you to log onto Steam, like Counter-Strike used to do back in the day.) Edit; Changing the CD-key regardless would probably result in an "invalid CD-key" error or "CD-key disabled." -
Replace "Hide body" w/ "Drag body"?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to intensity's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
If you had ever tried dragging a body in ARMA, you'd know that it's safer to lay prone and check the loot in an exposed area rather than spend 20 minutes dragging the body from the middle of the field to the nearest tree. -

Need a fresh scripts file, every player getting kicked for script restriction #43
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to supercraft360's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
BattlEye doesn't detect other hackers through your computer. The text file doesn't by default contain scripts that lead to a Global Ban. What. -

Dancing.Russian.Man replied to supercraft360's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
If the game works fine without the scripts.txt, why not keep it removed? -
Wilderness for months...state of game? Steam update a thing?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Trizzo's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
About the Steam version: http://dayzmod.com/f...on-of-dayz-mod/ Current version for DayZ is 1.7.6, if I recall correctly. Edit; I have no idea what this guy is talking about. Ignore all of that. -
DayZ Namalsk Problems
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to findingoman's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Have you bought and installed ARMA 2 and ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead and run both of them at least once before trying to play DayZ? Do exactly what the DayZ error tells you do do. Go to the settings panel and write in the install directories of both games. (A2 and A2:OA) -
DayZ in a way, has ruined gaming for me!
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to OfficerRaymond's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
-
I agree that the "24/7 daylight, 200+ vehicles, custom loadout" title is way too common in the server browser. It's the reason why I haven't bothered playing DayZ myself for the past 2-4 months. But luckily I still have the forums to stay active on while waiting for the Standalone.

Is DayZ the funnest game ever created?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Shadow23's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
"The most fun," not "funnest." -
I approve of the music at the end. It was a beautiful story, wrapped up nicely. Have all my beans/kudos/points/rep/etc.

The switch from console to PC
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to NautilusGoose's topic in New Player Discussion
Switching from a console to a military simulator like ARMA 2 is one hell of a leap.. Just saying. Don't get put off by the amount of controls there are. You won't need that many of them to actually play effectively.
