Which CD Key is in use during DayZ?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to izeferino94's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I dance directly into victory. The victory of superior knowledge and the ability to explain it faster and better than others. -
Limnos map as future Dayz expansion?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to chernarus's reckoning's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I don't think it works quite like that. Even though Bohemia is assisting in developing the DayZ Standalone, I don't think they would be okay with maps from their previous game to be ported into something other than a mod for the same game. -
Which CD Key is in use during DayZ?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to izeferino94's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
So, correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what you want to do: - Buy ARMA 2: Complete Collection for yourself. - Install everything in the bundle onto your brother's account. - Buy ARMA 2 to get a new CD-key for your brother. - Install the complete collection onto your own computer as well. - Try playing with your brother, who is using your Steam account while you are playing on the account as well. What? You can't even log into one account from two computers at the same time. (Only through the web-browser and/or mobile device.) Edit; Unless you meant that your brother would, after you installed the complete collection, use his account instead. That wouldn't work as Steam wouldn't let his account launch the game even if he had the files for it. In order to run DayZ, you need ARMA 2 and ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead. You can get ARMA 2: Free instead of buying ARMA 2, so you would only need to buy A2:OA. You NEED to have two separate accounts and both of those accounts must have a legit, working copy of ARMA 2(or Free), AND ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead. You have to buy OA another time. -
Is it worth picking DayZ up before standalone?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Korvenffs's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
JUST the DayZ mod? No. ARMA 2 and/or other mods? Yes. -

FPS performance low on new rig.
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Roy0441's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
The ARMA 2 engine was released in 2009. It has been poorly optimized ever since. Most people that come here with performance issues seem to have an i7 of some sort, so I'm guessing the optimization is getting ever worse with newer processors the game never even considered. It's silly to think that ARMA 3 will be as bad, though. The engine will be a different, newer one, which is a lot better optimized with modern hardware in mind. Same with the Standalone. -
Low FPS, Bad Performance issues.

I am aware. But, as much of a moron as I may be, at least I seem to be able to predict what other people are going to do. I think this discussion is done. If you disagree, PM me about it and we can argue each others' intelligence some more. -
idea on how to reload pesky partials mags..
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to rokenx2's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
There. Sounds a lot more sensible for me. I think the magazines were just over-looked as a very minor issue, thus never changed. It's how mags work in ARMA 2 either way. -

Why is DayZMod still marked as "Alpha"?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to tsandrey's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The mod is/was used to sketch out ideas for the Standalone. The mod is equivalent to standing in cold water with only your feet in, and getting used to the cold before diving right in. -

Balancing DayZ SA series Part 1: traversing the dayz world
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to alanford's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
"..the most important things to fix would be the map markers. (the ones which point the way in game world and tell you the range to target)" I'm pretty sure Rocket knows of this and they will be removed entirely. "But if the map markers were to be removed, than running in a straight line would no longer be possible. (Well it still would, but much harder)" Just, you know, hold W and nothing else? If you have any sense of orientation in real life, or can read a map, it isn't hard to align yourself even without a compass. It's harder to do in real life, because you have to either dodge some things or you naturally turn ever-so-slightly, and might run past your goal. "Why would there be no cars in a big city? I dont think that is very realistic." Because people were at a hurry to get out of the city and/or they got raided before us, the players, got into the game/server? Otherwise I like your ideas for land vehicles. "So lets say leaving a car without maintenance for a week would cause it to stop working. That would prevent the hoarding of cars. There's nothing worse than a car just sitting in the northern woods doing nothing. I hate it." And that affects hoarders.. how, exactly? The point of hoarding cars was that they worked as storage space, that could sometimes be moved around, even if they needed a little repair. (Some people shoot one of the wheels out.) At least now, if you find a camp with a car, you can just take it yourself and stop it from being used as a hoarding device. Your suggestion would make it more or less a permanent part of storage space for a camp unless repaired. And before you suggest that you can't access the items in the broken car, then that's just nonsense. Did everything somehow lock itself? No. "Now why would we do that you ask? Simple: airplanes require more skill and practice to fly. You can always just sit in a heli, press autohover and take off." You've clearly missed the part where Rocket said that the helicopter mechanics will be taken from Take on Helicopters. Most people will not even be able to warm the engine on the helicopters before they jump out from frustration. I'd write/read more, but my shift is ending. Edit; Meh, screw it. "ADD REAL NIGHTS! Right now people who want to play at night can't, because other player will just set brightness and gamma all the way up and roflstomp them. It's basically HAxz! If you dont like nights go play on a 24/7 day server. Please devs, remove brightness and gamma hack from the game." It has been removed. It's not the mod's fault if it has been re-enabled by private hives or unofficial variations of the DayZ mod. The nights are as real as it gets in Chernarus, in the current vanilla DayZ mod. -
It will. The current player skeleton is the cause for many silly problems to do with doors, trees and rocks. It's going to be entirely remade.

Balancing DayZ SA series Part 1: shifting from pvp to survival
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to alanford's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
"Normal weapons should be more commons, (small arms, maybe shotguns) but military grade gear should be rare as girl gamers." A little irked by that statement, but alright. I'll take it. "Add military zombies with body armour that would instakill you if you went at them alone with just a small gun." No. At most, make them more durable against bullets to where they have said armor. Wearing heavy clothing doesn't make you hit heavier. "Police stations exist in real world yet not in dayz for some reason." Actually there are a couple. One in Berezino, for example. They have two doors on opposite sides as well as a little roofed parking spot on the side. Edit; "The more posts the more chances any of the devs hear us." Rocket keeps regulating these forums a lot more than your usual game developer. (Although he's more active on Reddit) And even then, the forum mods can forward certain threads and ideas if they find it necessary. As far as I know. -
Isn't there already a way to boil water to make it drinkable?

At least you didn't get shot in the back. -
If you were Global Banned, there is nothing anybody on these forums can do. The main developer, Dean 'Rocket' Hall is only the creator of a mod. He has no control over Global Bans by BattlEye. The mods on these forums are also powerless, as all they can do is moderate this forum, by locking/moving/editing posts/threads and banning those violating the forum rules. If you want to make a ban appeal on your Global Ban, please contact BattlEye, and wait for their response. If you cannot do one or the other, then there is no chance for you and frankly, should find another game to play. http://www.battleye.com/support.html - Information on how to appeal to Global Bans. Highly approved. Best suggestion in a long while if you ask me. Should be something to try out in the Standalone possibly a little before the Foundation Release comes out, to see if it's any viable.

I can keep giving myself more money while playing monopoly no matter how much everybody else is bitching about it. The difference is, they have the capacity to just walk away instead of cry about it to their friends. (Implying to the forum in this case.) My previous post was mostly meant to be the humorous kind, but I guess I kind of failed in that. >.> -

Good points, but.. I've cheated in many board games. Several times. Most of the time I win without nobody having the slightest idea. So I say this guy should not be playing games of any kind at all. Hell, look at casinos or general PLAYING CARDS. People will bluff, lie, peek and hide cards under the table, just so they can win you once. -
Or, you know, run the game in windowed mode and press ALT-PRNTSCRN (Print Screen)
