Have you seen ghosts before? Is this a common bug?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to trollosaurus's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Seen that happen before, though the "ghosts" I've seen weren't moving or looking around like his was. I'd almost call hacks, but you never know. Could as well be a glitch or a random AI for whatever reason. -

Why is dean more active on Reddit then on the official forums?

"Tomorrow we will say how close." Tomorrow is when we'll see an announcement here. Nothing was left in the dark, as far as I can tell. -
Why is dean more active on Reddit then on the official forums?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Felixthefriendlycat's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
We as a community on the forum are so terrible that Dean is better off on Reddit. Reddit is more likely to have constructive conversation than us. And of course it could be just that he was a Redditor even before these forums were created. Old habits don't go away that easy. (^ Just my opinion. No facts here.) Regardless, the mods here(Read: Matt) will post the major/important stuff, and Rocket will get the same from these forums. -
Skipping the Arma 2 download process on Steam.
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to jataai's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Your key has nothing to do with the game files within the Steam folder. And Jataai, as long as you place the files in .\Steam\Steamapps\Common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead\, it will work just fine. -
DayZ still so much hackers/cheaters?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Trazul's topic in New Player Discussion
The hackers are still there, but there are less encounters now since private servers and whitelisted ones were allowed. This also means that in 95% of the servers, your gear will NOT transfer. -
Helis will most likely be added, but there won't be any at the start of the open-Alpha.

[MOD] Bandit and Hero-Camo differing from SurvivorCamo
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to bca quattro's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Do you not notice how similar the two camos you've shown are? As it stands, the current (official) bandit skin has white rags around the player's head. The Hero has jeans, a vest, and blue/white squared jacket. The current skins have far more indifferences than the ones you've shown. -
Keep working, you'll get a record. --- It's extremely rare that BattlEye has banned you for nothing. The most likely reasons you were banned are: - You hacked - You tried to hack but it turned out to be a key-stealer - You downloaded an 'optimizer,' installed something with an .exe, or used some other suspicious software - You have a virus/malware on your computer BattlEye bans a GUID/key if it's detected using hacks. It doesn't matter if it's by you or someone else. Your key is your responsibility. Do the most logical thing and contact BattlEye. http://www.battleye.com/support.html

Buying ARMA 2 for DayZ
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Fallout2's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The DayZ mod is entirely free. There's no fees of any kind. Although you DO need to buy ARMA 2(or download ARMA 2: Free from Bohemia Interactive's website) as well as ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead before downloading/installing DayZ. The DayZ Standalone has been in the works for quite a while now, though, and the closed Alpha is going to be re-evaluated in June, which means that DayZ will become its own independent game that you can buy from Steam. (The mod will remain free, but won't be the same as the Standalone because of some major differences in the engine.) -

bad version server rejected connection
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to country_deluxe's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Generally; http://steamcommunity.com/app/33930/discussions/1/864961175465159223/ What do you use to launch DayZ? Steam? PlayWithSix? DayZ Commander? -
I recall it from the time private servers weren't allowed yet. Kept finding a random 4-slot backpack around Cherno/Elektro. They were terrible.
-
It's not the smallest! There are Vest Pouch Backpacks that are only 4 slots!

DayZ SA system requirements
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to etc (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
A modified/optimized ARMA 2 engine with Take On Helicopters slapped onto it for helicopter/weather mechanics, and with some imported code/assets from ARMA 3. Yay for complex stuff not even I understand. \o/ -
DayZ SA system requirements
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to etc (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I thought the issue was the animations themselves with too many keyframes/points or something. It was in the devblog where Rocket was talking about the pathfinding, I believe. Anyway, while the Standalone will be using an improved engine, it will still be optimized far better than ARMA 2, meaning that you should be getting about the same performance as you do in SINGLEPLAYER. Just a hunch, though. I'm one of the chosen closed-alpha testers, but haven't gotten to try the Standalone yet, so I can't say for sure, at least from personal experience. -
The question in the parenthesis can't be answered. You have to buy ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead from either Steam or Amazon to get a key. Otherwise your new key might get banned or disabled for being a stolen one, or it might be in use by another person while you're trying to connect to a server -- preventing you from playing.

Frame rate issues on laptop
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Skillespunk's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Disable Hyperthreading if you have it. (You should, as it's an i7.) That aside, your CPU probably doesn't have the power to run ARMA properly. -

21. Get free hacks 22. Get Global Banned 23. Complain about being banned for no reason. Edit; I think this thread is about done. -
Private hive known hackers MG #1
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Khaosztheory's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Not going to happen, as you can just falsely accuse anyone, even make up false logs. -
There is no specific release date yet. Check back after June. DayZ will be on Steam when it's released.
-
Did you also download DayZ Breaking Point that came in an .exe installer? Because that's a pretty fast way to get your CD-key stolen.
-
It truly is one in a million. Like a drop in the ocean of shots identical to yours.

I would like to add this, since I happened to get a screenshot during yesterday's stream. (I don't stream often. It was more of a test stream.) "Such a pretty day to die." (My Steam caption)
