ARMA2OA Beta 102285 or any beta installer issue
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to seanmick's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Actually -- you CAN simply copy the physical files onto a new computer. But you MUST 'verify integrity of game' cache through Steam. (Right click the game > Proper ties > Files) -
Any girl survivors?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to snowmen158's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
We've all become a little grumpy because of the type of people/threads we get here on dayzmod.com. I think it's pretty safe to say we're all just chillin' and getting some of that grumpiness off, here. -
Body types, Food Benefits! (For DayZ Standalone)
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Corporate's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I should also add that we should also -stay- more or less on the same level. (Not counting in the gear and weaponry.) But.. You did make me laugh at 3:50AM. Have some beans you git. -

Wipe that homophobia off your face, for the love of everything. Hero as I may be, you're equivalent to a bandit in my books. Forever. -
Body types, Food Benefits! (For DayZ Standalone)
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Corporate's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I honestly doubt that the Standalone will be very moddable. At least not nearly as much as the current mod. -
Body types, Food Benefits! (For DayZ Standalone)
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Corporate's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Well yeah, it's not really realistic that every person ever lived their lives the same way and ended up in the same place, with exactly the same stuff (or lack thereof), but at the end of the day, it's still a game that we're playing. Some minor things should stay game-y, even if the rest of the game is trying to be as realistic/authentic as possible. Kinda like what Corporate said. His point is valid, but I doubt Rocket is going to be adding hundreds of different foods and an in-depth cooking system(as awesome as that would be). -
Body types, Food Benefits! (For DayZ Standalone)

Although variation is nice, I like the original idea of "everybody starts on the same level." -
I have been banned for no reason
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to thebigbadn00b's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
He's just stating facts, buddy. It's extremely rare that BattlEye has banned you for nothing. The most likely reasons you were banned are: - You hacked - You tried to hack but it turned out to be a key-stealer - You downloaded an 'optimizer,' installed something with an .exe, or used some other suspicious software - You have a virus/malware on your computer BattlEye bans a GUID/key if it's detected using hacks. It doesn't matter if it's by you or someone else. Your key is your responsibility. -
How would you react when Standalone is.....
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to kalashinkov's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I will probably stop checking the forums for.. a week or two, to avoid the "OMG THIS SUCKS" / "OMG FIXIT" / "THIS IS JUST LIKE WARZ" kind of threads by people who expected a finished triple-A zombie-title. -
DayZ wont open, arma 2 works fine
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to YukonCornelius's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe Have you downloaded the beta patch from the DayZ Commander's install/update tab? Or possibly download it manually, here: http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php -
Why can't I play DayZ? Require assistance!
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to sheepdawg's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You.. Do realize that you need ARMA 2 and ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead installed and played at least once to play the DayZ mod? -
Stand Alone Servers?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Beck (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The nature of DayZ is still different to other MMOs, despite being an MMO. Edit; And honestly I have a pretty hard time classifying DayZ as one. It's not an MMO when you have 30-80 people on a server. Mount&Blade: Warband has a 120-200 player cap per server, and it's not an MMO. -
Stand Alone Servers?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Beck (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The servers will be hosted by BIS to start with. (From what I've understood.) The servers will end up becoming hosted by the players themselves. Because the engine is now designed to work through the server and very little on the client-side, Bohemia will have most of the control. The servers will definitely not be as customizable as they are now(Unless they are utter morons. And I will stand to this opinion if that was to happen.), with people having 300+ vehicles and assault rifles as starting gear. Private servers will most likely become a thing, but what I'm hoping is that it only means that the server is not connected to the official hive, but will remain more or less strict on what the server host can change. (To not encourage people from simply making private servers to play with end-game gear and/or have a "PvP" server.) -
Hacker teleported to me and spawned me stuff?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Dekkymane's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
BattlEye has confirmed that as long as you didn't spawn the stuff, you WILL NOT get banned for having them. But the server owners/host/admins might ban you regardless. -
The "Mass Test" of 30-100 people in the Closed Alpha started on 27th since the server architecture was finished. Edit; Getting source --> Edit2; Here we are! http://puu.sh/34yQ8.png

To wait or not ?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to itamar (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
No, this isn't a fun game and nobody is playing it anymore. It's as dead as a gaming bandwagon gets. (That's sarcasm, by the way.) Rage VG pretty much nailed it. -
just bought it and all i can do is "bird"
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to 1nj3c710n's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Appearing as a bird can mean two things; 1. The server is glitched and you're in the spectator-mode. 2. Degrade has kicked in and has turned you into a bird. (It's an anti-piracy counter-act.) Edit; -
Not sure if responding to me, or.. The words I've used aren't incorrect as far as I'm noticing. (Feel free to point it out, though.)

Closed Alpha Test Day 1....
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Meeshe's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The Closed Alpha has been going on for a pretty good while already. It's just that they had only one server with around 20-30 people on it, which consisted mostly of the forum mods, Rocket, and some of the BIS employees. Now that the "mass test" has started with the server architecture being finished, there's around 30-100 people testing the Alpha. Edit; My source: http://www.pcgamer.c...track-for-june/ -
The Standalone is coming out Pretty Soon™ as it is.
-
Make it 0.2% and 1% per hour and we'll call it rare. (I do like this suggestion, honestly.)
-
"Herde" is still not a word. Herd is. I don't usually become a grammar-Nazi, but when you type the word with the wrong context, in the wrong way, 8 times, I just can't help it.
-
herd /hərd/ Noun A large group of animals that live together or are kept together as livestock. horde /hôrd/ Noun A large group of people. Okay? Okay.

Cannot install DayZ
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to elementalgooch's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
The Steam version will not work for you. The DayZ Mod on Steam downloads a "@dayz" folder into Steam\Steamapps\Common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead\, NOT where you installed your CD-copy. (Which is where it needs to be.) Download DayZ Commander and change the game location from the settings tab. - http://www.dayzcommander.com/ -
I got banned for no reason please help
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Ryley's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
If it's a Global Ban, contact BattlEye. If you do NOT get a "You have been kicked. (Global Ban ID #xxxxx)" message, you are not banned from all BattlEye-protected servers. Simply find another server. If it IS a Global Ban, however.. Do the most logical thing and contact BattlEye. http://www.battleye.com/support.html
