There's a typo in the "Valve Lounge" description. "Aboud" instead of "about." That said, it's a pretty generous offer. Not sure how HFBS will feel about you claiming a domain that has their name on it.

Game needs a sniper heavier than 7.62
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to thisisPyro's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Well this sounds familiar. Do keep in mind that private hives can re-enable any and all weapons within ARMA 2. The official change-log only affect the servers connected to the official DayZ Hive. (And those servers that decide not to change the values.) -
One thing about -SA-

Nice derail, guys. Anyhow; I'm looking forward to cannibalism, with all of its side-effects included. (Even if it isn't confirmed, god damn it.) -
You aren't having problems. There are over 6000 DayZ-related servers currently in ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead. It's not very surprising that it'd seem like "every server is a DayZ server," since the vanilla game will show ALL ARMA 2 servers, regardless of what mod they're using, if any.

Mount and Blade doesn't require nearly as many resources as ARMA 2 does. You can sit in an empty city and you still have a chance of dropping below 30 FPS.

Seriously. Stop posting stupid sh-. That said, somebody go hunt down Goo0gle. -
As said, poor optimization. Older hardware tends to run it better, because the newer stuff is either not supported or not considered. Though that doesn't mean that older hardware WILL run things better. (Though I get a steady 50FPS with an i5-3570k and GTX 670.)

Ping/latency doesn't affect the performance of any game.

WarZ did it. Though it's only for an hour, and you can optionally pay money to skip the timer. Personally I don't like the idea. Imagine if you spawn on the shore and get sniped by some camper, after having to wait 12-24 hours.

I believe Rocket has given several examples as to what he is going to replace the text prompts with. It's odd how you're (basically) saying "The text prompts add to the immersion! Don't remove them!" while everybody else is saying "Having text pop up on my screen, telling how I'm feeling instantly breaks the immersion." I'm not going to take sides on the matter, but as far as I recall, Rocket is going to make visual and audial indicators as to how your character is doing. Grumbling stomach, etc.

Ignore the ignorant. I can't say that I agree with the whole skill thing (unless it was implemented to a VERY deep degree like in, say, Entropia Universe), but that wrongfully self-proclaimed Grammar Nazi should be ignored regardless. Edit; That said, I DO agree with the rarity of weapons and other loot. I was happy back when 1.7.7.1 was first implemented and everybody was crying about not being able to find anything for the first 20 minutes.

Nobody said it was perfect. But I don't agree that the human body should be able to fight the virus -- even in its early/weaker stages -- without any external help. I mean hell, it's a virus that pretty much destroys your brain and brings you down to the most primal level and/or kills the infected person is over time.

I stopped reading after "too deadly," and scrolled down to read the comments so far and to write this line. There will be even more infections and thus you are even more likely to catch one in the Standalone. That said, reading the rest now. Edit; Yeah, no. - Caught through zombie attacks = Fine - Inability to stay warm = Fine (Though how come cold temperatures causes you to catch a zombie-flu?) - Ingesting raw stuff or dirty water = Fine - Infected wounds(e.g. gunshots) = Fine - Becoming cured on its own = Nope. Not fine. Why? Because there wouldn't BE a zombie apocalypse if everybody could cure it simply by sitting in the corner of a warm room. DayZ isn't gamey enough to make diseases that easy to deal with. Even less so with the addition of 12 real life diseases with their actual symptoms and medication to go alongside with them.

GOD DAMN IT CAMAY. Ruined my immersion completely. And poor Fraggle, robbed of his pants. It had to happen eventually. -

Try using .jpeg as the file format. (I'm assuming that it's .png or other.) -
Shooting while stationary on a ladder
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Sutinen's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
It's not going to be released as a finished product in the first place. OP didn't say that it has to be in the game during launch, and who are you to say that it's never(ever) going to be implemented? Though I wouldn't say that it's something that would be put somewhere high on the to-do list. -
What've I been preached, then? *shrug* I guess I stand corrected.
-
Sadly that is impossible to do within the DayZ mod because of how the netcode is handled by the ARMA 2 engine.

download link at dayzmod.com?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Roark92's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Hasn't it been like that for a very long time, though? The current DayZ mod is/has been considered a part of the alpha-stage. -
If you think THAT's a Deagle, then you should go get your eyes checked. Or get more familiar with different weapons. That works too.

ARMA II and OPERATION ARROWHEAD ONE ON STEAM OTHER NOT
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to drake_asho's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
You can't use the Steam version of the DayZ mod. But you shouldn't use that in any circumstances anyway. All you need is DayZ Commander, and it should set up the proper file-paths for our games. -
DayZ Standalone Discussion
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to griffinz's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
- You will definitely not be Rambo in the Standalone. Zombies can knock you down rather often, for example. - DayZ is not out to punish any style of gameplay, so no, there will not be downsides(penalties/negative stats) to being a bandit. - No idea about RP servers. Probably not at first, since there won't be private servers right away. - There will be 12 real life diseases(with their actual symptoms/medicine) in the Standalone, on top of the zombie infection. -
I approve of the whole "You will starve in x days" idea. And some other little things in the video. You get my beans.
