Yup. Let's put it in the game! Aaaand DayZ gets delayed about two more years at least, because of yet another engine to work on. Edit; I get the idea of what you're saying, OP. Stumbling = Nice, small mechanic. Euphoria engine = No.

Standalone: heli crashes+
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to DropBearChick's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Stuff like the pre-crashed helicopters are probably not what Rocket is talking about. A scripted scene of a helicopter falling to the ground, though? That I could understand. -

Says who? It's an alpha. It can go batshit crazy with content if they feel like it. -
Two PCs cant connect using the same internet
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Mr.Global's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
It doesn't matter if you're on Steam or not. The CD key generates a GUID, which is used to identify you as the player. When your brother joins a server, the GUID for the CD key is bound to that server. (So it cannot be used by other people.) When you join your brother on the same server, that same GUID tries to bind itself to the same server for another time. That's where the problem is. The GUID can't be active in two places at once. (Or in one place twice.) -
Shooting open doors in SA..
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to NagsterTheGangster's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Shooting the lock of a door doesn't work in real life. Not without a shotgun and a well-balanced kick. Mythbusters ruined this Hollywood trick. -
You can already do that in ARMA 2. The character customization will mostly revolve around clothing. So prepare for pants-bandits, shooting you in the chest just to get your mini-shorts.

I don't like your username. At all. Your voice is great, though. If you did a bit more than thinking out loud. -
"DayZ Standalone appears on Steam Database" No it didn't. It's been there for almost a year now, with continuous updates being given to it. It did however, change its title to "Early Access" two days ago. I did squeal a "YES~!" when I saw that, though.

It's always that damn brother. God damn them and their ability to exploit our accounts! Speaking of which, your account is your responsibility. If your brother hacks, you are the one responsible for it. (You should probably stop going to the two hack-sites I found your exact name on too, by the way.)

Way to be a massive douche. Personally I have no trouble whatsoever when using the hatchet. I'm not getting it, hardly even aggroed. You're definitely doing something wrong. Are you standing up? Are you moving forward or standing still? If you're doing either, fix your strategy. Besides, it's been a rather long while since 1.8 came out. Going by your first post, someone could easily take it as "Did they change something in 1.8.0.3?" -
Downloading Operation Arrowhead
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to sincere (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
If it was actually legit, you would've had no trouble naming the site. Now you just sound like you're hiding something. And since you haven't bought the key through Steam, they cannot and WILL NOT refund you anything, since you didn't buy it from them in the first place. That said, asking or forcing a refund is going to put you in a bad stance with them in most cases. Edit; Why use Steam when you can buy a hard copy?* You don't pay for the game itself when you make a purchase through Steam. *When applicable -

Where did you buy the CD key from? -
Okay, so, I'm posting this in hopes that someone is able to clarify what this means. I answer hundreds of threads on the Steam Discussion pages every month, and once again, I had someone point out that DayZ Commander is triggering their antivirus software. What I usually do, is get them a direct link to the installer to make sure that they aren't clicking on the deceptive "DOWNLOAD" ads. Just now, I was told that the problem still persisted, so I got new virus scans with VirusTotal. And.. Apprently DayZ Commander has a new installer which triggers 3 antivirus software, while the old one doesn't. This is the scan for the old MSI installer. And this is for the new EXE installer. Is anybody able to elaborate what these are, and what they do, and why they might trigger an alert? VirusTotal vs DayZ Commander
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Dancing.Russian.Man's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It's a fairly recent change as far as I know. I've been recommending everybody new to DayZ to use DayZ Commander while being completely unaware of all this additional stuff. -
VirusTotal vs DayZ Commander
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Dancing.Russian.Man's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Welp. That's a sad turn for the worse. I might actually offer PW6 as a better option. Though I know nothing about it, or if it has as many mods listed. I'm sure those several huge "DOWNLOAD" button ads were enough to keep DayZ Commander going with the amount of people mistakenly clicking on them. Josh pretty much has a monopoly right now because of the fact that he's focusing on DayZ instead of the general ARMA 2. Thanks for all the info, too. +breans -
VirusTotal vs DayZ Commander
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Dancing.Russian.Man's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Click on the links. I don't have any of those software installed on my computer. (Just AVG.) TotalVirus lets you upload a file, have it scanned by multiple separate antivirus software, and show you the results. -
[Solved]People in my server
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Timtower's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Not all games require you to forward ports. And not all router configurations are as strict as others. (So again, no forwarding needed.) -
While the zombies are "relentless monsters," they are still just humans.Humans infected with a virus. Again, the zombies are not undead. They are people that are still alive, but taken over by the virus. They will die the same way as any other human. (Bleed out, gunshot wounds in general, unable to breathe(even if that doesn't happen in ARMA 2.), etc.) What "lore?" DayZ specificly avoids having any backstory, other than: - The zombies are infected, not undead. (Like you said.) - You have washed up on the shore for unknown reasons. Bam. That's your history. P.S. - In case I come off as angry, I'm really not!
-
I'm fairly sure that the AI can't become unconscious in ARMA 2. Do correct me if I'm wrong.

Zombies walking indoors is an engine limitation as far as I'm aware. That's what I've believed for the longest time, in any case.

Dayz Standalone features
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Julius2001's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
If that was the case, it would have been fairly helpful if OP had said anything else besides.. That said, I could have responded a bit better. Had just woken up recently before making that reply. -

You guys are silly. I've played roughly 10 hours of in-server time since 1.8 came out(and that's a lot, seeing I kind of stopped after 1.7.1.5), and the damage you suffer from zombies feels like a nice, fresh change since then. They don't break your legs, they can make you stumble on-hit, and it doesn't take them 3 solid minutes of repeatedly beating you until you pass out and bleed to death. Yes, the zombies are buggy. But they can't grab you, nor really do anything as long as you keep running. So I think it's fair for them to deal the amount of damage they would do in 5-7 hits, in one hit without instantly breaking your legs. In my opinion, the zombies are better than what they have been for a long while. Possibly better than they have ever been, but that doesn't mean they don't have issues. Regardless, they should not be nerfed as far as I'm concerned. And they probably won't be, either. Learn to avoid getting hit, or actually take responsibility for your incompetence in a game that has had the aim to be brutal and unforgiving since Day One.

I don't think you understand how oxygen and the atmosphere work. It's kind of a pointless feature, I feel. There are no mountains to climb in Chernarus.
