    Stuff like this is neat, a good and probably preferable alternative if you can't find spray cans. Nice simple idea, hopefully someone writes this down in a notebook or something.

    This is basically, the best idea for DayZ ever thought of. I've been gagging for more character creation options, I can't stand running around with four other guys who look exactly the same as me. It frustrates me to the end of the world and back. As a man with a beard myself, I'm astonished and embarrassed for my character who doesn't even have a single hair to his face. I'm not sure on whether your beard would grow in-game, it takes away the possibility for different beard styles, or at least would make it more annoying to maintain. But I fully endorse the idea of having a selection of beards to choose from as a male character, those handle-bars featured in the first picture arouse me on many levels my friend. Any dev looking at this post. You have an obligation as a male and a developer of a apocalyptic game to include choices of beard to male character. Ranging from a 5'o clock shadow to a lovely large beard please. On this note anyway, I'd also like to see the ability to change the type of face my character has and his hairstyle. I want to see wacky bandits with mo-hawks and spikes of liberty, and huge flowing beards of dirty injustice. Then I want to see some ex-cop with aviators and a 5o shadow go and bust their new-spawn slave trade empire. But in all seriousness friend, this is epic and I am erratic that you've achieved such response (rightly so). I hope this goes far.

    What's that smell?

    Really interesting idea. I can imagine moving past a hill, and smelling "a foul bloody odor". This odor happens to be a injured sniper who hasn't treated his wound properly and is suffering from infection. Idk, a small idea but it's certainly awesome. I can imagine passing out from the smell of rotting flesh, or blood frustrating players. Perhaps their character is someone hardened to the sight and smell of such things (like a lot of people would in the setting) and they don't want their character pissing around with that kind of stuff. But great ideas, dude. On top of this I'd like to have more interactions with touch/feel as well. I'd like to be able to feel someones dead body to check whether they were warm, or cold (indicating how long they'd be dead for). I'd like to feel a snuffed fire to find out how long ago it had been put out. I unno' I might make a thread later.
  5. I'm not a fan of the feature that when you log out in these places, you'll be randomly spawned in the map. I can imagine that causing a lot of problems, easy method for teleportation' (even with the current spawn delay). I highly doubt the developers would adhere to such features. However, saying that; the idea that you'd not be able to log out in high loot spawns is absolutely fantastic, and it would put an end to a plethora of problems concerning high loot spawns. One example would be you move into the radio station in the airfield, search the whole thing and there's nothing in it. Then, you get shot from there because a server hopper has just logged in and spotted you whilst having a loot session (one has even spawned in the same room as a friend of mine before and shot him). But yes, no spawning in or logging out in high loot/rare loot areas such as airfields, military camps, bases, etc. It's a genuine simple solution. (It would also force players to "leave" the airfield and risk the dangers of confrontation instead of logging into a empty server and skipping out). The idea could certainly be worked on! Nice one.

  7. Nope, it didn't work. I tried putting all the files into the common folder, then I tried just placing the addons folder into common. Neither worked for me, gah. Any other ideas for fixes guys?
  8. Hmm, I'll give that a go. I was told to do that, but just put them in the main oa folder which may have been the problem lol. I'll pop them all in the common folder.
  9. Hello there guys. I've seen other threads like this, but none of them have helped me. I've just switched pcs about three weeks ago to a much better one, but now I can't get DayZ working for shit. And it's really infuriating me, because it's a darn good mod. Here's the low-down- I've got both games (ARMA 2 and ARMA 2: OA) on steam, not retail they are both steam versions. When I install the games and install the patch (http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php), then update everything via Six Launcher or DayzCommander (I've tried both) I get an error that says - " Addon " DayZ_Anim " Requires addon " CASigns2 " ​Here's a picture for reference. Then, it continues. When it automatically launches the game for me, it goes into the DayZ server waiting screen for a brief second then I get this - http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/542940367283391660/98989FCC9FFA53A223130B40D3CE0A54509BAC96/ Cannot load texture ca/chernarus/data/ui_selectisland_chernarus_ca.paa Then I just get put back into the main menu, and that's that. I can run single player on both games just fine, I really don't know what's going on. Please help me because I'm sick of being unable to play such a great mod, even though vanilla ARMA is a godly game. Anyone with experience in this please help, I seriously wish I had the knowledge to do it myself and not pester people but I've had enough lol. Thank you those who help, cheers.
  10. Hey, I have this problem and I've tried all the methods you are all using on it but none of them seem to work. I've moved my addons folder from arma 2 into OA main, then extracted them all into Expansion/Addons. I'm thinking I have a non-used version of Arma2 Original. Can someone who uses a free ArmA 2 post a direct link so atleast I know I have the correct version, then I might be able to get somewhere lol. Thanks, most appreciated.
  11. Hello, Brim here. Here are a few bits of information first before we start- I have the correct and brought version of ArmA 2 OA, and the demo version of ArmA 2 classic from the ArmA 2 website. I have them both on steam, the demo was added as a non-steam product. Basically, I've been trying to fix this problem for a long, long time now. Maybe a week so I'm finally posting here because I wanted to refrain from being a pest. Here we go- Every time I try and launch Arma two combined operations it tells me that I don't have a registered version of both the games. And then, it will continue to launch it but the DayZ server will say "Missing Config.Bin/model_wall/shed.something" and it varies to different models and folders every time I try. It also keeps saying from time to time "DayZ.anim requires CA_Dubbing_Counterattack." and continues to launch anyway. I really don't know what's going on, I've re-installed both games twice, re-installed battleye or what ever its called twice. Looked all over the net (though admittedly not through all the hundreds of these posts in the forum lol) I've patched dayz and my arma games up to date. Tried re-installing dayz manually. I'm not sure if there is a website I have to go to these days to register my game of Operation arrow head but it never used to be a problem for me. Nor was it a problem to use the free version of arma 2, though I did dl it from steam back in the day. I'm wondering if you need to buy both copies of each game now, instead of having OA and dling a pirate or a free demo type.
  12. Yeah, everytime I play all the zombies are in a " T " pose and are gliding under the ground with their bodys half way out. Until they start running at me, then they sprint to me and then when they attack they tpose back into the floor then continue to chase me. It's really annoying and I was wondering if it was fixable?
