I'm about to play with a group of friends on Steam Voice Chat and I wanna choose a push-to-talk key, any suggestions? So far all I can think of using is Caps Lock, and removing the keybinding functions of it in game.

I want to help "characterize" Batshit Mental if you don't mind =D. I suggest doing things such as; Hoarding items for no reason (empty cans o' beans?) Trying to get as many zombies chasing you as possible and lead them into players hehehe >:O Go to dangerous/popular cities and do a dance Spam chat with randomness, especially if the server has Global chat Gather as many flares as possible and make fireworks in a random area Find out the maximum altitude you can jump from and survive Try to make a very LONG trail of worthless items leading to the ocean

Got two entirely different things to say, but I'll first answer your question. 1) All you need is Arma II and Arma II: Operation Arrow Head. You can buy them separately, or buy them together as a bundle "Arma II: Combined Operations". Either way, those two are all you need. As far as I know the other addons don't matter except for PMC, but it's not needed, as you already stated. 2) What kind of gaming pc are you getting? Before I got this game, I was looking at a livestream where someone had a i5-2500k, 8gb ddr3 1333, and a GTX 460. He seemed to have trouble running it at anything higher than low/normal settings. I thought my computer would stomp it (even though my CPU is a bit weaker) because I have an i5-2310, 8gb ddr3 1333, and a Sapphire 7850 OC Edition. Unfortunately according to FRAPS, playing on higher settings results in my FPS going as low as 31 FPS in intense areas. I think it might've gone even lower, but I didn't notice it. Point is, unless you plan on getting like an i5-3xxx and like a GTX 680 or Radeon 7970, I don't see running this game at max settings possible to be a very easy to do thing... With my current build I can play Battlefield 3 at ultra settings (Antialiasing all of the way up).

A lot of times when I attempt to join a server it's telling me I need version 1.60.9, and it appears I only have 1.60.8 or something. A lot of people have suggesting going to http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php, and I click the top link "latest beta patch" and extract and run the set up, I get an error saying wrong CD key and then I hit okay and it did its installation thing regardless of the error, but I still have the same problem! Any help would be much appreciated!

I went into Steam and found a 1.60.9 server and then exited out. I then went to the exact same server through Six Launcher and it seemed to load fine, until I actually got ingame. I had access to the server, I could talk to people through Side Channel and the like and see people dying / talking. Unfortunately, the map was completely barren and I saw a few mes (yes I saw myself) and they reacted to what I did, if I looked to the right, they'd look to the right, and vice versa. I'll give it a shot tomorrow though, I'm very tired as it's 4:50 AM where I'm at. I hate double posting, but I just wanted to give this a bump, I found a solution :D http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=9314 I had to respawn in order to get back into the map. After this though it appears I get a couple of red lines of error in the chat, but after that things are running smoothly (so far). EDIT: Got a quick question, does anyone know if seeing green chat in the game chat with numbers saying things like "go here!" and stuff is normal?

Yup downloaded from Steam, so no CD-key used.

The controls in this game are definitely unique, anyone here ever changed the keybindings to better fit your needs (controller / odd keyboard) or to make things more "traditional"? Post all things and everything related to your unique set up in regards to controls, or a change in key bindings and why you made said changes.

This, my friend, is why you must take your time and go slow, play stealthily as if this were a real life situation! Server hopping isn't possible in real life, is it?
