    Experimental Update 1.10 (Changelog)

I wish, can't play on exp on my own server (admin mod breaks) and the server i play on gonna wipe on stable so i don't wanna make a base there yet. Sadly, they need to tweak it a bit more i think, the loot has ben changed multiple times allready. And a lot of weapons isn't even in the loot table.

    Experimental Update 1.10 (Changelog)

The food chances are quite good Tbh. foodHermit = 15% chance foodVillage = 25% chance foodArmy = 10% chance. Most clothes seem to have around 10% chance to have loot. ~36% is Sodas and ~48% is food. So stop running around in huge spawn cites where the loot is higher and you should struggle more. Finding food is a lot harder at Tisy/NWAF, so unless you're full and got a few cans of food with you, it gets hard, even in unlooted towns up north there isn't a lot of food besides a few chickens here and there. Since food goes bad now you have to cook asap. I'm still struggling with a lifetime of 9 hrs ~26km spent running, killed over 150 Zombies to stay alive. (Why doesn't the Starts Track yet!?) I don't have enough food to go to Tisy even. Still no word on despawn times on player dropped gear? Is it the same lifetimes as regular loot? (Types.xml) Then you can check how long you can leave gear without it despawning, Police clothes seem to last 1hr, a few jackets are 45 mins. Most are 2hrs... Etc. But then my Mosin would have despawned after 5hrs, since it got a lifetime of 7200s, so that doens't make sense.

    Experimental Update 1.10 (Changelog)

What is the current lifetime for player dropped items? Died up north today on official Exp. ~5 hrs ago, when i got back only the Backpack and Mosin was left. Also Died once in Guglovo on the way, ran straight from Electro to just find my Backpack and Axe. I was there within 2 hrs, might have been 1. I intentionally dropped all my clothes/bp/weapons on the ground and walked away before i died both times (not on the corpses). Felt alone on the server. Lots of loot everywhere, no lag, zombies spawned where i got, so the chance of someone else getting to my loot and just keeping the clothes, twice, is zero. That makes it important to put your most precious stuff inside your backpack if your'e starving/dying and want a chance to get your gear back, bury it if you can. Clothes/vests perish waaaay faster. Ps. Also tried out the Smokes on my 1.09 server, zombies are less interested in them than in roadflares, they just get alerted by the sound and start looking for players. So you cannot use them to get the attention off you, and if you want to lure them away, small stones are just as effective.

    Experimental Update 1.10 (Changelog)

I gotta test on my server again then, when i tried they didn't react at all to smokes, but that's 1.09, and assumed that nothing changed since they haven't put anything in the patchnotes.

    Experimental Update 1.10 (Changelog)

A note for upcoming updates: Zombies should Aggro towards smokes as they did in the mod, that gives you some control over them, and smokes can be use to lure zombies away from where you want to loot, giving you away to other players in the process. I think they did that in a previous update, not 100% tho.

    Experimental Update 1.10 (Changelog)

Imo, Keep the lifetime of tools and food loot, especially in Tier 1 zones. But weapons and ammo should be scarce. If you ge inland there is lots of Loot, but sometimes you cannot get of the coast if the RNG is bad. Sometimes, 10 zombies gives you a tool, a soda and a can of food, sometimes 50 zombies barely give you a can of sardines. I know "that's how chance works", but it sucks in practice. Up the chance for Food cargo, but add rotten fruits and stuff to the pool.

Goodbye Old Friend (Update: not true)

Literally Crying, all the memories this game gave me will stay forever, still chasing that feeling from the first summer of the mod. Everybody was scared of the zombies, noone really knew that map or where to get loot. 1 out of 10 was a bandit, the rest was glad to get a can of beans and a pipsi. Played with a friend back then and after a while we really got good and had a small clan, collected rare loot in a few tents had a really good time. But he doesn't play anymore, i barely play anymore, it's not as fun nowdays, when everyone see you as a threat or a chase for a meal, even on the coast. I'm all for shooting it up a nwaf and stuff but not along the bambi coast. There still are a few good servers out there, and the mod community feels huge compared to the playerbase, so the game will never die (i hope) but it feels sad that 1.07 is the last official update. 4k hours betatesting tho. maby 1k more since 1.0. Goodbye old friend, i'll miss you. p.s This game got me into modding, which got me into coding, started a 3 year education at Uni and i'm getting my degree this week. Too bad my dream workplace is dead.

    Experimental Update 1.07

This isn't CoD. The gun raising mechanic is there to enhance roleplay, but i guess you KOS everything and think it's unnecessary? Yeah, guys like that is the reason why i don't even play anymore. People panicking when they see someone and KOS, and don't even say Hello.

    Experimental Update 1.05

So sad that it's still a KOS killfest even in Exp where we are supposed to try stuff. Using the mic is useless, theres literally no punishment for killing other players, Zombies are easy to handle, unless they lock you in a corner or swarm you on a field. "It's the game" i know, but when 100% shoot on sight it isn't fun to play at all. Trying to be friendly allways turns out badly. oh how i long for that first summer when killing other players came after trying to survive, most were friendly and you could spot bandits a mile away.

    Launch arguments?

Got a couple of questions regarding startup parameters in Dayz. Firstly, which are stil in use since A2? https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=216291078 i guess most of theese are gone? Secondly: currently using "-nosplash -nopause -cpuCount=4 -exThreads=3 -malloc=system -world=ChernarusPlus" (Guess none of theese do anything.. x)) Can i add this to like param.txt and choose it as a parameter file in the Dayz Launcher? Or should i add them trough Steam? Feels like that won't effect the game when i start it from the Launcher. Thirdly: Can you make a Batfile that's like this: (start DayZ_x64.exe -skipintro -nosplash -nopause -cpuCount=4 -exThreads=7 -malloc=system -world=ChernarusPlus "-mod=@DayZRP Mod;@RPCFramework"-connect=xxx -port=2303 -password=xxxx)

    DayZ Stable Update 1.0

Great work! Needs a hotfix for the FPS tho, getting <30 now and have played with 60+ on the exps until today, didn't have time to try that one....

    Experimental Update 0.63.149887

Why are you hung up on the size? The exp patch is 1Gb bigger than stable atm. But i regulary downloaded 1.6+ gb while changing patches this week, so the 1GB size is probably more optimized. Nevertheless, noone is talking about the size.

    Experimental Update 0.63.149887

We that actally play will play anyway, but 1.0 is the version thats getting rewieved, a lot of players are comming back and this isn't in a state where i'd like it to be for that. I love the game to much for it to be another "no mans sky", and tainted by a bad release. 1100hrs and counting :).

    Experimental Update 0.63.149887

Theese water seaking flares are just awesome.. https://imgur.com/a/3iPK68y And for those complainign about too many guns, this isn't a survival game, this is open world BF with zombies, at least thats how 99% plays it outside of RP servers.
