Ok i get it.. its alpha.. but this is worse than the mod.
wolffe replied to yotimmyg@gmail.com's topic in General Discussion
The conclusion is that unless there is some major reworking of management decisions DayZ will most likely reach version 1.0 in 2016-17 and even then not that much improved over its predecessor. I don't know who put this Dean guy in charge, he clearly isn't a strong leader. The development team needs more developers. There should be 15-30 developers working on this full time hammering away. Instead there is 6. This is unacceptable. -
The whole early access tend these days is nothign more than a cash grab. Players who buy into it use rationalizations like "I'm helping the development" and "Its cheaper now" but everyone knows deep down these people just want their next game fix and could care less about helping development. It doesn't matter that its early release they just want it now now now. Instant gratification needed.

Here is some free advice on the development of DayZ that you obviously haven't figured out yet: Get your heads out of your asses and use some of the millions of dollars you've obtained from the wild success of Arma2 & 3 to hire at the minimum a dozen or two full time, experienced game devlopers to work on DayZ along with the team of 6. As it stands now DayZ has/uses: -Terrible game engine (Even the so called improved engine for DayZ sucks balls and would look good if this was 2006) -Terrible mechanics -Terrible AI -Terrible everything If you do not do this, which is the likely case, we can expect DayZ 1.0 to arrive somewhere in 2017 and even then it will be a medicore experience plagued by the usual low production values. Progress & Results are so slow & low quality that I wish a better managed game development company would announce Zombies: The MMO and have prettier, detailed worlds with just as much players and infinitely better zombies, features, depth & content than DayZ has or ever will. Good day!

I'll never know why the DayZ team hasn't contacted leaders of some popular soundmods (JSRS for example) and worked something out to use their mod for the default game-sounds. After all the DayZ team goes on and on how modding & player-created content is so great. The default sounds in Arma 2 are making me want to kill myself while playing DayZ. I'm going to go out further on a limb here and say Goldeneye for the N64 has slightly better sound design than Arma2. Even if DayZ is preparing to goto Arma 3 or to be a standalone game, there is no reason why they cannot incorporate a better sound pack now so our ears can feel better. Everytime I shoot a weapon or hear a weapon being fired while playing DayZ I die a little inside.

So I got my first ever vehicle working and was driving it around. I was low on fuel so I stopped in to the nearest gas station. Turns out fuel pumps don't pump fuel and only gigantic tankers allow you to refill jerry cans. I don't understand the logic behind this since my inventory can only hold so much fuel and fuel goes very fast. Why can't normal fuel pumps refuell jerry cans?

welcome to Bohemia Interactive. they don't exactly use industry standard optimization and cpu/gpu load reducing techniques. BI wants to burn down the whole field instead of stepping on the anthill.

What was your most annoying/worst death in DayZ?
wolffe replied to Pureevuls's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
all of them -
I tried using the forum search feature but nothing came up regarding this. We should be able to flip ATVs. We all know Arma2's horrible ground vehicle physics makes it easy for the smallest of bumps to flip vehicles. From a realism standpoint an average male would have no problem flipping something as small as an ATV over. We should be able to do so. But only for the ATV. I doubt anyone could singlehandedly flip over a bus or car. This idea comes from the fact that I was playing a life today and found an ATV outside Cherno. I miraculously found the parts I needed inside Cherno (Fuel & a wheel) and after dodging sniper rounds managed to repair it and drive off. Half way to my destination I flip it over on literally nothing.

everyone should dupe, d/c & even script if they want to spawn items. The mod is so terribly buggy & alpha atm that it doesn't really matter. It's probably going to standalone soon anyways so i'm not even relying on any future major updates. Just have fun with the deathmatch + zombies.

dayz sucks ass, i'm glad I bought Arma 2 and OA when they came out for the tactical gaming - i'd never buy them now for the shite that is DayZ

Welcome to the Arma 2 engine (Post patch I might add). any game with this much bugs or terrible performance would be blacklisted by most, but since they call it a military simulator it is suddenly ok. hopefully BI uses the millions they got from arma 2 dayz purchases to hire competant people to fix the arma engine for arma 3.

US 153, Looking to form or JoinSurvivor Anti-Bandit Group
wolffe posted a topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Title says it all. I finally found a server I like (US 153) and want to settle in. I firmly believe most "bandits" kill not for loot or protection but for nothing other than to piss off survivors. I'm tired of running around cherno being blasted for literally no reason while i'm not even carrying a weapon. I'm looking to join a survivor group interested in setting up a camp and using VOIP. "Strength in numbers" My name is Wolffe in-game. -
I've figured out how to survive. I'm on my best life yet and have: M29 Alice pack Binoculars Compass Watch Map L85 TWS which has night vision & thermal Plenty of Ammo 1911 Morphine Matches Water Knife I had a particular good story about me heading up to the NW airfield and poking around. I log off and come back hours later and hear a guy inside the south barracks shooting an AK at a zombie. His name was WETDREAM91 or something along those lines. Anyways I can see him through the windows but since I'm a survivor and not a bandit I just watch for awhile as hes switching from looting to killing zombies that are coming because of his rifle shots (not the brightest in the world). Anyways I walk up to the back of the barracks and begin talking through voice about how I know hes in there and that I wont shoot, and that I had been watching him for awhile and could have killed him if I wanted to (which was true). No response. I keep telling him similar things and I walk around the right side. Then he just runs out of the barracks and I see him, yet I still do not shoot. I say "Heeeeey" and he turns towards me while shooting. I let the m29 rip pumping massive rounds in to him and he goes down. (Note: That's me) Victory! I sift through a little of the stuff that was useful on him & hid his body. I won't let any stinking bandit have his loot. Since then I've basically travelled south from town to town taking it really cautious now that I have good loot. This is pretty much a walking simulator because being cautious it takes ages to get anywhere. I'm running from cluster of bushes to cluster of bushes, scanning every direction with binoculars making sure i'm not being followed at the same time. I log in today and I was almost found but luckily proned as someone in a van drove by on a road. I had the opportunity to lay into him with my machinegun but I decided to hold fire. Why would I ruin his fun? He probably busted his ass to get that van, and if I shot it up I'd end up damaging it anyways so nothing would be accomplished. In this situation I know most people would fire... We were both right by the town thats just before the NW airfield and he was heading directly for it, so my guess is is bandits lit him up sooner or later since you could hear that thing coming from a mile away. Then I headed southeast and found a crashed chopper that I camped from a raised wooded area for about 10 minutes before going to search it myself: 2 FN Fails- blunder of the century. I then did 40 more minutes of walking, taking cover in a bushy area, binocularing the area, and more walking until I logged off. I think I have found the secret to survival in DayZ: Don't play it. Since I now have pretty good gear, I have effectively beat the game. The longer I don't sign in, the longer I survive. I could type it, but I'd rather say it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tl0LZsyi_tA[/media]

A lot of stuff needs to be removed from DayZ
wolffe replied to TheMachine's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think zombies need to be removed. They are far too buggy and annoying. Running around cherno I don't think "Damn I can't go that way I'll be eaten alive by zombies!", i'm thinking "Wow my path is blocked by autistic fetal alcohol syndromed retards" -
:beans: Here my friend, sit by the fire with me and have some beans.

A serious question for the PvP-phobes
wolffe replied to TheMachine's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
this game sucks, and will likely plataeu off and lose players and new purchases quickly after the initial hype is overwith. I personally know two people who bought it thinking it would be similar in polish & controls to left for dead or some other FPS. Arma 2's buggyness, retardedly gay controls & shit graphics caused them to pretty much uninstall after a day or two. So it's not really Rockets fault for the alpha mod sucking balls, it's Arma2's. If we had a better just-as-malleable game engine to work with that supported many players and extremely detailed city environments complete with interiors, this game idea could be applied excellently. But as rocket said arma2 just wont' support DayZ in the long run. I can't see how he thinks Arma3 will. I remember we all suffered through the bugs and kinks of Arma1 engine. When Arma 2 was announced everyone jumped for joy thinking the engine and performance issues would be sovled. Lots were but newer and older bugs still remained. Now everyones saying how bug-free Arma 3 will be- I'm betting based on past experience that Arma 3 will look slightly better but be pretty much the same as ARma2. -
Why do some people walk slow in DayZ?
wolffe replied to down167's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Also, if you have no weapon equipped if you are leaning, it will not show you as leaning but the game will consider you as such. If you are leaning while having no weapon equipped you will not be able to run. -
All (8) of our vehicles gone. How?

So you and your gaybros are bandits, shooting randomly? There truly is a god when he has smited all your illegally obtained goods. The only way it could be better is if god dropped bombs on all of your tents. Good riddance! Love the tears! -
why dont you SHUT THE FUCK UP you FUCKING FAGGOT
