while this is a retarded idea, why would you have the option to eat someone's shit? why WOULD you eat someone's shit? eating it would lead to instant death, so why even attempt? so many unanswered questions...

NO. we already start with so little, lacking any way to defend against zombies, and we can only survive one hit from a zombie, because we have just one bandage. not to mention the extremely useful but ridiculously rare morphine, or even painkillers. we already start with so little. i think the mass spawning hatchets are an awesome idea, because it not only DOESNT give new survivors a weapon to go on killing sprees with, it gives them something to actually fight zombies with. if anything, we should at the VERY LEAST start with a crowbar. it takes 2-3 hits to kill. melee weapon only. if we don't have a backpack, then we should at least start with that.

zombies wearing ghillie suits that spawn near sniper spots would be interesting. or maybe just ghillie suit zombies in general. interesting suggestion!

so, on my most recent dayz life, i got mauled by a bunch of zombies just outside the southwestern side of cherno. i healed up, ate some food, used my morphine, but still had 6000 blood. not good. so i headed to the lone west hospital in hopes of finding more morphine, because i used my only one; more bandages, because i used 5/6 of mine; and possibly someone to use the bloodbag i had on me. not really hoping to find anyone, but i felt that if i did, and they helped me, i would let them have some of my cooked meat. i had 7 of them, anyway. so i get there, and i hit the residential building just north of the hospital. zombies spawn in there. weird. so i come back outside, ready to enter the hospital, when i see someone being attacked by zombies just outside. so i watch as they deal with the problem, and hide around the corner. i type "friendly?" no response. so i walk around the corner, lower my weapon, crouch, and type "hey". BAM he one-shots me with a makarov, and i instantly die, losing my m14 aim, blood bags, 7 cooked meats, hunting knife, hatchet, watch, map, binoculars, 3 cans of beans, my revolver, and my czech backpack. ARE YOU F***ING KIDDING ME?! something REALLY needs to be done about the player killing in this game, people do it without thinking, with their only thought being that this is call of duty, and you're SUPPOSED to shoot random survivors. i don't know if we should go as extreme as removing the PVP mechanic, but there needs to be some way for player killers to be severely punished. any suggestions? i say that if you kill someone, ten zombies are alerted to your position. then come running up, and you have to fight them off if you want the person you killed's stuff. TL;DR people kill me without any reason whatsoever. WHAT SHOULD THE PUNISHMENT FOR PLAYERKILLING BE? SHOULD THERE BE A PUNISHMENT? WHAT WOULD IT BE?

well, everyone has forgotten the point of this thread: what do you think is an appropriate punishment for player killing? should there be one? what should it be? also, i like the idea of 5 seconds to reply, i will start doing that. but i still refuse to shoot someone the instant i see them. no, i won't change. yes, it's just a game, but it's still inhumane if you ask me.

it seems that you are VERY unlucky. try heading to cherno or elektro. it's dangerous, but it's very likely that you will find a weapon there. if you don't know where you are, try using a map. don't have one? google.

i think the worst part of PvP is when you spend hours getting a stable amount of food, water, supplies, and ammo, and then some fucking jackass decides to shoot you with their only incentive being that they have a gun and want to kill someone, so you lose your hours of work in a few seconds not because you messed up, but some other little shit decided to ruin your fun. i wish there was some way to counter this :(

the only way to go back is the way you came...if you don't know, then consider yourself officially lost. instead of the pussy tactic of respawning, see if you can make it out. go until you run out of food/water or blood or whatever. test yourself :D

this is my fourth life, and i've been alive for about five days now. (i have never played arma 2 or dayz before hearing about it on roosterteeth lol)

you're out of the map. the map turns into infinite nothing if you go past the invisible boundary.

you forgot what happened to me yesterday... close outhouse door -> breaks both legs simultaneously and starts bleeding for some reason

of course, in my tales of misfortune, more crazy things happen in my SECOND game of DayZ. i respawn after starving to death while bleeding to death in the middle of a forest from the first time, i found what i consider to be, a jackpot. i came across a large warehouse, found a HATCHET (YES!!), a few cans of soda, and even a hunting knife!! :D so i set out, hacking down zombies, one hit kills galore, but STILL i found 0 cans of beans, animals, or anything that could be food. so, scavenging continues. at one point, i found a holy grail. i actually found a can of beans inside an outhouse. excited, i ran up, and seeing that people already had trouble with getting things out of outhouses, i did my best, but couldn't seem to pick up the beans. i then proceed to accidentally close the door and break both of my legs and lose 2000 blood. FUCK THE LEG BREAKING MECHANIC. WHY DOES A FUCKING PORT-O-POTTY DOOR ANNIHILATE MY LOWER HALF?! so now i'm stuck with all this awesome shit crawling on the ground, unable to find morphine across three towns. i am on the far left of the map, just outside of Pavlovo. i don't know what to do anymore, this game is fucking awesome, but my fun is already ruined by two stupid things. i wonder what the third will be, going unconscious by picking up a can? either way, the point of this thread: where can i find morphine near pavlovo? :C and when can we remove the ability to break your legs with a outhouse door?! it shouldn't be possible!! EDIT: i am now dead. i crawled all the way to the airfield, asking for morphine from ANYBODY, and was about to die of starvation/dehydration, when some jackass walked up to me, said "friendly" then shot me in my face. even after pleading for help. that was just cruel. i wish all of this shit didn't happen from BREAKING MY LEGS ON A DOOR

so after playing dayz for the first time, i had a blast, i met up with someone, they died dramatically, and it was awesome. i even found a lee enfield after about five minutes since starting. lots of ammo, too. so, as i continued my fantastic adventure, i found two soda cans, but no beans. passed a pig, and a couple chickens, but didn't have a hunting knife. an hour and a half later of wandering around, i still couldn't find any food. it didn't help that 90% of the buildings are unenterable. quickly, finding food became my priority. so i went through about six towns, and nothing. not even water or ammo. i found one flare in one of the towns, though. so, having no idea where to go or where i was, because i didn't have a map, i just kept following the roads, which led to more towns. eventually, i got hit. killed the zombie, used bandages, cool. then i met that guy, and he somehow attracted about 15 zombies. so after running like hell, i got hit again. and then i realized, that i hadn't found any bandages either, i only had the one i spawned with. eventually, i died in a forest from bleeding out and starving to death at the exact same time. WHERE IS ALL THE FOOD OR AT LEAST A MAP OR SOMETHING :huh:

ok, thanks everyone! this is a very nice forum, it seems. anyway, from the looks of this map and some of the signs i saw on the way, i started a little north of berezino, then went west through khelm, went southwest to dubrovka, and went almost to gvozdno, but then i died in the forest on the way. i should have stayed on the coast to find cherno or elektro, or at least something on the outskirts of those cities. true, but at least if we could go into buildings, the zombies would be slowed, or at least corralled into a stream, leading to a higher chance of survivability. or at least, we could have a place to hide for the night, or something. the buildings wouldn't have to have supplies in them, but i would at least have some hope of finding it, or at least some hope that i can survive the horde following me.
