hey inception, a HUUUUUGE fix for me was launching through steam; i originally used six launcher, but i was tired of the infinite loading screen. now, i open the multiplayer, filter for dayz, and let it sit for ten or so seconds. the servers then automatically rearrange into ping order, and if you highlight a server, the yellow circle on the left will change to a red X if the server is no good. then, find a suitable server, then join and have fun! try it

i cannot continue reading this without thinking that you're retarded. as for paying for servers, yeah, you guys are paying to play. not like we payed $30 or anything. Do not turn this into a pay-to-play game.

if you want to play dayz, but are unsure about the $30 entry fee, how does $20 sound? dayz does, in fact, works if you get only arma 2 free and arma 2: operation arrowhead. this makes the game price $20. however, i recommend this for if you ONLY want to play dayz. i did this, because i just wanted to play just dayz. however, i tried arma 2, and it is a very good game. i want to buy the full, but i don't know about spending 20 more dollars on something i can pirate. i plan to go there soon, does anybody know if it's usually populated? maybe not like the NWBF or cherno/elektro, but does it usually have one or two people? yeah, i know, weird. i've been to maybe forty or fifty spawns across hundreds of servers, and still nothing. so technically, i've never seen a legitimate car in dayz in over three weeks of survival. not even a bike.

if anybody sees a car, they're going to kill the driver for it, sadly.

when i heard about all this hacking nonsense, i played little dayz; i would quit after maybe ten or fifteen minutes. i am too paranoid to lose all of my stuff.

nope. the only difference is that you don't get the full arma 2. all character models are the same quality. if you buy the PMC dlc, then they are high-res characters.

in a nutshell, yes. it is worth it. there may be bugs and hackers now, probably at its peak, but it will be fixed. i would hold off on buying it, unless you REALLY want to play, because hackers are rampant.

i think the hero skin should be awarded if: A. you haven't killed anybody at all B. you kill bandits or C. you have gone a long time without killing if c applied then i'm good.

um...yes they do. whether they want to or not. if you are being chased by more than one and try to backpedal shoot, then you're going to get hit. no matter what.
