Someone got really mad really fast...

On every server I have joined all day (~9) it has rained within ten or fifteen minutes of me playing. And that's just today. It's always fucking raining on every goddamn server I join. Yeah, it stops, but then it just comes right the hell back in another half hour. How much rainfall does Chernarus get a year? 15 feet? I cannot remember the last time I was playing and it didn't rain. What's the problem? Why is rain a bad thing? First of all, I don't have a top-of-the-line computer to play DayZ on, so I start lagging like shit every time it rains. It's not so much of a problem on daytime servers, but it still sucks because I either have to keep moving, or build a fire because I'm way the hell north looking for player camps, i/e not near any buildings. Nighttime servers is where the hell begins. Because DayZ is so goddamn dark at night for some reason, rain + silhouettes not only makes my game lag like shit, but it's nearly impossible to see anything on the screen. All of this rain is blocking me from seeing the ridiculously subtle outline of zombies/buildings/trees/players on my screen. It's like it's raining on my eyeballs. Or rather, DayZ becomes a crying simulator. Flashlights are useless because stopping to see = freezing to death, and I don't have NVGs. That's why I'm camphunting. Don't take rain out, but at least tone it down. I'm sick of logging into a server thinking YAY DAYZ this game is fun! and then having that thought blown into a million fucking pieces because it's raining at night. Can I just quit and go to another server? Nope. Remember that serverhopping bug? If I leave too many rainy servers, BAM back on the coast. 15km from where I was. [/rage] On a somewhat similar note, does anybody know what indicates the map borders in the game? Here's an example: is Pobeda Dam in the map? As far as I can tell, where the trees stop is where the map stops. Treeless hills, I assume, is out of the map. TL;DR: It rains far too much in DayZ. Please lower the chance of rain by a lot. What shows the end of the map in-game?

Wow, I never noticed it was that obvious. I was playing at night the entire time I was near the border, so I couldn't see it. It's funny seeing it now. Thanks for the tip! I have NVGs finally, so now I can know where the border is always.

40 minutes of running paid off: It's still there. Thank you so much for posting this. I got an M4A3 CCO SD, NVGs, a GPS, and ANTIBIOTICS!!! These were literally the only things I was missing to have the best gear in the game. All of the vehicles are gone, by the way. But there is still an SVD Camo, M249, DMR, M4A3 CCO, M16A3 M320, and Camo Clothing along with other goodies. Only one more pair of NVGs. 2 more GPSs. The server is totally empty as of right now, so I didn't get sniped by anybody. Thanks, once again!

I am constantly running through where it says they will spawn, but still nothing. I've only ever found 4, never found anything worthwhile.

The other player is probably JUST out of your line of sight. Yes, you can say that you are 101% sure that there was no other player, but if the zombie started running, the only explanation is another player. No other possibility. That person likely shot a Lee Enfield. You couldn't hear it, but the zombies can.

M4 series or AK-74 series. Not AKM, unless you want to shoot people.

As of now, jack shit. The problem is with ArmA 2 and Battleye, not so much DayZ. So it's not like they're ignoring it, more like they can't do anything about it. DayZ standalone is on (I think) the ArmA 3 engine, with a new anti-cheat along with it. More resilient to hacks.

It's probably someone's. They probably crashed it into something, popped the tire, then left it to go find another tire. Fix it before they can!

I'll go to Pobeda Dam, since I'm the closest to that.

Climbed ladder to roof of Elektro firestation. Looted a dead body, then started to head back down. Got on the ladder, then my dumbass character decided to get back on top, so when I pressed "S" to go down the ladder, he walked off the roof. Sat there passed out bleeding for five minutes. Awoke with ~300 blood left, broken legs, shock, bleeding. Bandaged up, used morphine. Worked my way out of the city into the forest just north of the firestations, passing out several times along the way. Got there, ate all the food I had left. Still had ~2900 blood. Looked around the countryside for animals as I continually passed out. Found a rabbit, ~3700 blood after eating rabbit steak. Found a cow, 10,175 blood. Found a goat later on, refilled my health to 12,000 and got my food count back up. Took me several hours to recover from that. I am now alive and well, on the same life, with 12,000 blood, on day 57. I thought I was finished when I walked off the roof. I spent a few minutes punching myself as I waited for recovery. I want to read more stories!
