Can't tell. Sick icon only comes up when I clean wounds, but it might just be telling me because I became aware.

The zombies can still phase through walls though, the current biggest issue with them; until they have greater numbers, this is what makes the zombies threatening.

In the mod version of DayZ, a can of Mountain Dew was ridiculously impossible to find for no apparent reason. It had the exact same effects as any other soda, except it said Mountain Dew. It's hard to find, and Green Mountain on a moonless night is scary as fuck. A + B = horror prophecy :3

The reason why people have one character across all servers on the public hive is so that you aren't tied to one server. If you had a vehicle, you were tied to the server. It's a trade-off. If you want the car, you must stay on the server. Switching servers meant losing the car. However, maybee my friend only plays on a 1st person server. I then leave the old server and join his. No new character creation needed. I don't know of another anti-serverhopping technique but it can be found. Hell, someone already found a 3rd person exploit fix: zombies/players/loot not visible through 1st person (over walls/around corners) are invisible unless direct line of sight is acquired.

Ok wait; I'm not following what they mean by this...my suggestion is that your character is on the public hive, in case a server is down, laggy, or shitty. I don't want to not be able to play DayZ because the server I'm stuck with sucks. Private servers = private hive, to prevent getting gear in private then hopping on public. What exactly does the OP mean by "having one character per server?"

If it only goes up +2, can't I just use it again to get pristine? It shouldn't be a one-time use thing; it's a damn rock. I do like this idea, though. Maybe edged weapons sharpened with the whetting stone do more damage/cause bleeding faster? As for swords, there should be a minuscule chance that one spawns at the castles.

I know the actual reason for this term to exist (A certain YouTuber), but who decided to carry that terminology over to DayZ? What was wrong with "freshspawns"?

Yes, I know you have the ability to cancel an action as you're doing it. However, I'd like to see a button that will let me instantly cancel whatever action I was doing, or instantly free up my hands. I press it, and the can of tuna I was in the middle of eating is now on the floor, and my hands are now empty. What's the point? Say I'm eating something and some random guy walks into the building I'm in. In real life, I'd stop whatever the hell I was doing so I could defend myself. In DayZ, I have to wait for the eating animation to stop, then pull out my defensive option. It wouldn't pull out your last weapon or be a button to push to bring up your gun, it would only place whatever was in your hands on the ground (food, gun, bandages, water bottle) and/or cancel whatever action you were doing (bandaging, reloading, eating). It would be instantaneous, and is a button I can easily mash if the situation becomes dire all of a sudden. If I wanted a weapon, I would have to open my inventory and put the weapon in my hands for it to come up. Alternatively, I would drop any item in my hands to bring up my previous weapon. If the item I dropped was my weapon, then my hands would be empty. Could also be used in a hold-up.

You're supposed to be disorientated. You're thrown into an unknown Russian country and told to stay alive for as long as you can. Surviving longer means learning the land and the cities. You're not supposed to live for days the first time you play, you gradually build more knowledge the longer you play.

Because DayZ is a zombie apocalypse simulator, the intention is to have you make the choices you would make in a real zombie apocalypse. I still don't understand why people find it acceptable to use the apocalypse as a reason for becoming a genocidal psychopath. Yes, it is a game, and game interactions will differ from real life, but I've seen countless people claim they would do the same in real life. Of course, these people are blithering idiots who use the safety of the internet to make themself seem badass.

Another video, from me this time. My friend and I were on the hospital roof when we saw someone running around with a gun. We attempted to talk to him, only we got shot at. So we started crawling around the roof and trying to convince him to put his gun down, so we could take anything we might want or need. (Because he shot at us, it would have likely ended with a nice meal of rubbing alcohol) I was messing around and Qing and Eing and I accidentally rolled off the roof because the lip of the building didn't stop me from going over. The problem is that because EVERYONE spawns either on the southeast coast or in Novy Sobor, there's rarely loot there unless the server restarted. Even Elektro doesn't always have loot. I'd rather spawn in Kamyshovo or Elektro so I can ignore both towns and run west where players are fewer and the loot is greater. I'd be fine spawning in Kamenka or Prigorodki or something, because there's more loot around there. I admit to jumping off these towers multiple times; not because I want to get GEARED UP TO SNIEP TEH N00BS, but because I'd at least like to find food or a bat or something. Rotten food, shirts, and flashlights everywhere is not the kind of loot that is any kind of useful. I don't always try to find something to kill myself on, because I enjoy the solemnity of travelling alone in DayZ, but sometimes I want to meet my friend who only has an hour to play or the game insta-killed me on some stairs or something and I want my stuff back because a death like that is bullshit Point is; more spawn points would make many people stop doing this completely. The loot absence would be spread out instead of concentrating on the east coast

Hey I'm getting deja-vu on this thread. Only because there are multiple threads about this same topic, including my own. Search the forums before posting, people. Anyway, it should be 10 seconds, and any other players that point their reticle at the person logging out should get a message saying "Player is logging off in 6...5...4...etc"

Well with 26 million dollars from game purchases they could at least hire a few more people to speed things up...

It says all files have been validated if everything is the way it should be. The only time anything is being fixed is if it says "(X amount of) files failed to validate and will be re-acquired." If it doesn't say that, nothing happened.
