  1. See, that's the problem. That's what I was talking about. It does feel like it's only been a couple months since the infection BUT Rocket made it so 95% of the vehicles in Chernarus are impossible to drive, this doesn't make any sense but he did it for the sake of authenticity, to give us this post-apocalyptic feeling of loneliness, emptiness and helplessness when running in a no man's land for 20 minutes before getting shot in the head and having to do it all over again. So why couldn't he, for the sake of the authenticy, do it again and get rid of military high end gear such as NVG or 50. Cals? Maybe they kinda make sense since it's a military area but they also certainly feel completely out of place in a zombie apocalypse. 25 bikes and 20 drivable cars in a town would also logically make sense. If this was a feature, anybody would be able to defend it because it's completely logical. But then everybody would have a car and the map would feel too small, death wouldn't be so bad because your buddy would be able to pick you up 3 minutes later and you'd get your weapons back from the trunk of the car. Zombies would become even more useless. It would be more of a Mad Max kind of game. It's not because it would logically be there that it SHOULD.
  2. " The population isn't in decline, the number of unique players is still going up!" Duh. That might be because this number can only go up since it's the total number of players who played the mod.
  3. And then you realized the items that people dupe or hack-in can be looted by legit players. In their tents, their vehicles or even on their corpses...
  4. Thank god the community isn't full of people like you or we'd end up shooting lollipop launchers on pink dinosaurs. Yeah actually what I meant is that it would take several years for the weather to destroy all the vehicles the way it did in DayZ and if the events of DayZ are indeed several years after the initial infection then the base would actually be empty.
  5. Yeah OP, why do you want to discuss something in the general discussion forum?
  6. "I AM QUITTING THIS PARODY OF AN ALPHA OF AN UNFINISHED MOD FOR A GAME THAT HAS A BUGGY ENGINE TO BEGIN WITH" just didn't sound right I guess.
  7. Yup. While we don't know when the events of DayZ take place, we do know that Zombies don't eat cars for lunch. Which is longer? For looters to empty entirely an army base of its weapons or for the weather to completely destroy 90 % of the vehicles in a whole region? (You also didn't take in account in your post that looters don't only take what they NEED.)
  8. Poor OP didn't realize that DayZ was a finished product and that everything was here to stay and that feedback was pointless.
  9. If it's only about imagination then you would be okay with it if Rocket added miniguns then?
  10. So he should play DayZ in a non-optimal way or else he's a hypocrite? Also his point when he talked about films and books was most likely that they have an apocalypse feeling to them that DayZ doesn't have. How can you not get that?
  11. How strong can the average survivor potentially be? One of these rifles weighs like 30 lbs, add to this the already heavy coyote bag full of food cans with an assault rifle in it. Then put an axe, a tool box, binoculars, a rangefinder and a GPS on his belt. Don't forget to put a chopper main rotor assembly, a car wheel and a full Jerry Can in his pockets... And the guy can still run a mile in 4 minutes.
  12. That might be because I do. Rocket stated himself that he won't waste time fixing stuff that would be fixed faster in a standalone game version where he could actually modify stuff the way he wants to, and that the mod is only a way to collect data and see how people react to new features.
  13. Happened to me, seems like you can hear again once they hit you after you healed up.
  14. >resume playing when everything should be almost beta >beta This guy actually believes that the mod will be in beta phase some day. Rocket isn't gonna fix most of this shit you guys always complain about, this mod will always be an alpha and will only serve as an experiment to collect data for the standalone version which will come out before the end of the year. And that's fine like that IMO.
  15. I have 2 friends who stopped playing. I play every now and then, as a bandit.
  16. Nothing quite like sniping the bean coast noobies and their shitty shotguns and axes, am I right? As of today Chernarus is nothing but a perma-death slow paced unbalanced deathmatch, I haven't played Lingor Island yet but I don't see how getting military loot more easily would be a bad thing. So many different places looting military stuff that you can't even camp them all! :'(
  17. Life expectancy is still the same on the homepage for me. Also Rocket said that people who respawned a lot to spawn where they want were never taken in account in the first place. If anything the fact that they have to suicide differently will bring the life expectancy down.
  18. The development team will tweet about it and thank the community for their support. Also there'll be a shitstorm in the General Discussion forum, mods will lock most threads about the 1 Million players and either compile them all or create one and sticky it. That's all that's gonna happen.
  19. No. We're discussing realism in a Zombie apocalypse survival simulator. Whether you believe such a catastrophic event could happen or not in the real world is irrelevant.
