My last legit kill was a rabbit. I was in urgent need of food to counter some massive blood loss. Hint: If you ever planned to get hit by a fucking .50 and walk away to tell about it I suggest having steaks, morphine and bandages around. Same for falling off roofs. Btw, I haven't killed any carbon units yet, only zeds. 18 days... still smiling. :)

It's a bug. Suma himself started a thread about it on the BI forums. Looks like it'll be fixed in the next beta/RC.

That reminds me of half a dozen "lollipops" (lollipop, Iollipop, IolIipop, etc.) that showed up on the mighty GdI Server once... :) Assuming the logs are in plain text: how about using the search function of a decent text editor (one that hilights your searches) to track them?

There's a stupid "trick" to turn zombies off which I found out by accident. I've installed DayZ manually. Then every time I joined a server a warning popped up telling me about missing content. Since I've seen tons of these bogus warnings before (thanks to crappy custom addons) I didn't really care and started exploring the Z world... After a while I wondered where all those zombies are. I saw other players but no zombies. After several hours of walking around collecting stuff there were still no zombies. Then on one server some guy was voting to kick me which I found strange since all I was doing was picking up gear. Then it dawned on me: I play a game about zombies but there are none. I play nice (e.g. not shooting others, sharing surplus matches and meat, etc) but this dude probably thinks I'm cheating or something... oh, and there was this warning about missing content! When I checked my DayZ folder I noticed that I forgot to extract the dayz.pbo. I've been playing for hours without it. No dayz.pbo, no zombies. I think this should be fixed.

Btw, adding "dayz" to the list of addOns[] in mission.sqm should fix it.

Proof? Remove the dayz.pbo from @DayZ\AddOns, join a server and try to find a zombie.

Yes. Someone found something nice up there (like an AK with a couple of mags) but had no storage left. So he dropped stuff.
