  1. B.I. OVER-COMPLICATED THE GAME.

YOU ADDED WAY TOO MANY UNNECESSARY THINGS.

YOU FAILED TO ALLOW PRIVATE SERVERS FOR TOO LONG, YOU KILLED THE DAYZ MOD COMMUNITY AS SOON AS STANDALONE WAS RELEASED, THIS HURT MANY MANY COMMUNITIES THAT MADE DAYZ GROW FROM NOTHING.

8 YEARS AGO WE WERE PLAYING DAYZ. (DAYZ MOD). 8 YEARS.

8 YEARS AGO WE WERE FLYING CHOPPERS, DRIVING ROUND CHERNARUS, BUILDING BASES, AND HAVING FUN WITH GROUPS OF FRIENDS, ON 80 MAN SERVERS.

WE HAD CUSTOM LOADOUTS, WEAPON LISTS, VEHICLES, STRUCTURES, ETC, 8 YEARS AGO.

YOU HAVE OVER-COMPLICATED THE GAME AND TURNED IT INTO SOME STUPIDLY COMPLEX SURVIVAL GAME WITH MANY FEATURES THAT ARE SIMPLY BROKEN.

IT IS SUCH A SHAME, BECAUSE MY COMMUNITY AND I LOVED DAYZ, AND YOU KILLED IT. IT COULD HAVE BEEN A HOME RUN CASH-COW, BUT YOU OVER-COMPLICATED IT, INSTEAD OF JUST FIXING BUGS AND MAKING IMPROVEMENTS.

  2. Hi everyone!

I want to create a group of friendly people to play on the DayZ EXPERIMENTAL servers. .

Currently only myself and a few friends play, we speak English and are from mixed locations in Europe. We have a long history in DayZ, we ran the largest whitelisted private hives on DayZ Mod, and have been taking a long break since Standalone went sideways.

Please comment below with a link to your steam account, or add me here so we can play together:  https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197979882693

We use Discord for voice comms. :)

    Thanks!

  3. When the servers won't lag to shit and go b0rk with 30 or 40, let alone 80+

Also when it's done, it's done.

Well i havent played this game since January, and my group are wanting to get involved again but it makes no sense to start hosting servers again when the game offers us nothing at the moment.

If the servers cant handle 30-40 slots now, they must have taken some steps backwards. When we had our server at the start of the year we had it running fine with 65-75 players, anything over this and it was unplayable lag like hell. and yes we did have it full a couple of time at 127 players, but was unplayable. (this player slot count wasnt condoned by the Dayz staff or our server provider, but was an interesting experiment nonetheless). (for info the server was using over 110mbps/s in bandwidth at the time, lol!).

I'm surprised that 60-70 slot servers still aren't an option by now, considering it is 7-8 months on, and it seemed to work fine when we did it. 40 players in a 225 KM map is just too little, especially considering there are no vehicles.

  4. When are we going to have servers with a decent amount of people? 40 slots is just not enough. 80-150 is much better i a lot of peoples views, including my own.

Any idea when this will come? My community is not going to host any servers until we have a fun filled game to play and that definitely requires a much higher player count than 40.

    Cheers

    New:
    • ...
    • DayZServer.exe support for sub hives.
    • ...

So what exactly does this mean? Does it mean we will be able to host DayZ SA on our dedicated server boxes?

    i hope so :D

Me too, although I'm not concerned about hosting our own database like a private hive, connecting to an external public hive would be good! Anything so we aren't spending so much $$$$$ hosting 4 DayZ SA servers with commercial hosts at a cost that is significantly more than a lease on high spec dedi box! lol

  6. im currently renting 3 dayz sa servers and loving them. could do with RCON and designated query ports but that will come in time.

i look forward to future private hive days. a lot of money can be saved by leasing a dedicated box or co-location!
