Fan-fuckin-delic-tastic game adaptation of a zombie outbreak! This is what I mean when I think about an outbreak, crowds of Z's chasing for your flesh, albeit I don't dislike faster infected...great job, carry on guys! -
You said it! In real life a revolver is a deadly weapon, but in DayZ it is a little more dangerous than a flywhisk!

It depends on how hard is the environment you live. If your shot echoes between the hills and no or few more you are right, if indeed it calls an overwhelming horde of Z's or Infected or whatever you whant to name 'em I suppose that the matter rise to another level. Should be interesting to see the tactics developement in the latter case considering that we have right now under our eyes the first case...

Machete, Crossbow & M1911 are my favourites albeit I totally disagree with the handgun damage level...it's weird that an handgun requires so many shot to neutralize a player. I'm never be shot in my life (and I hope to never be) but I supppse that could be sufficient only one bullet in whatever body point to make me out. -

Yes! That's the way I got back all my equipment after dying by a nasty infection...I have just choosen a known and quiet place to die, this coupled with a little bit of luck during respawn made me the best equipped fresh-spawn ever! ...but this story is OT for sure... -

In the actual DayZ game mechanics KOS is a worthy tactic because the environmental dangers are very low, so the survivors playing that way are not endangered by bunches of Z's attracted by the gun shots. KOS is easy, does not requires too much thinking about the consequences of own actions and can result in useful equipment gathering. In my opinion KOS is a direct consequence of the actual gameplay and is not to pursue with some kind of punishment but should be more difficult than now because of a more challenging environment. -

I got a bad infection some day ago near Zub castle so, after an unsuccessful quest for some antibiotic, I decided to go to die in a known place (it was quite difficult to determine the exact place on the map because the blurry vision of the terminal infection phase) just to have the opportunity to get back my equipment after respawn...I was lucky, I respawned about 4 km away from the place where I died. All in all I like the actual infection pattern, I think it represents the ideal sickness growing up, as I saw in my favourite Z movies.

I agree with you about the two switching ways, the fast with weapon drop and the normal one, both with some kind of animation. This is what I tried to explain in my two previous posts. Insta-change is too much arcade-ish...thinking about it I go back to the Q2, Q3 Arena gameplay -

I mean the quick change not instantaneous and not without any kind of animation, just a quicker action than the ordinary one, coupled with the disadvantage of being forced to drop the weapon to achieve a faster change -

I prefer the 1st one, anyway it should be functional even if the player performs it while walking (not runnung). In my opinion the insta-change should be possible too, but it must result in the dropping of the currently active weapon just to make real a quick weapon change attempted during a very critical situation. -

Yes, I do. I remember I was really scared about Z's (how ingenuous I was!) not at all aware of bugs, glitches,and all the other stuff, I acted as I would in real life, trying also to help the other players (I found a lot of honest and loyal ones)...I love to remember about the good old days...and not only the ones regarding DayZ. -
I can suggest to use PlayWithSix it works smoothly (I had some issue with DZCommander too...) you will forget any download issue and server spotting too. Cheers

I had a dream some time ago. It was short and dramatic at the same time: I was scavenging somewhere (not Cherno) and suddenly the undeads spread out from everywhere, I run fast out of ammo and I suppose I was eaten by Zombies (I'm not sure about it because I woke up before they start the feast)...anyway, bad hangover... -
I suppose it is the older Undead mod, if I remember right. The attack animation of the Z's was the climbing ladder one, that was quite funny because during attack Z's seems dancing like the Michael Jackson ballet in some scene of Thriller video.

Quite simple in my opinion: people will play KOS if this will worth it. Actually in the mod this strategy is a rewarding one, so a lot of people KOS...no more to tell about it. Only the SA design will determine the major playing style of the people. -
