  1. There's a difference in reporting problems, suggesting changes etc and complaining about how the game is destroyed and your weekend ruined because the devs "doesn't care".

  3. I still don't understand how you draw so much aggro. :) I have been spending the night in Zele and Cherno without being spotted by ONE zombie. Except one I shot to see the new animations. How hard can it be? :P As far as I'm concerned it's great how it is right now. Played with my brother and he said spawning defenseless was awesome, because it gave you early goals to find medical supplies and ways to defend yourself. Deal with it. :)

People like 3rd person view and so they try to join (even veteran) servers with this feature enabled. If people like it, there is no reason to remove it. inb4 thees is a harcore gamez not for CoD noobz, etc, etc, bullshit. People play 3DP because its safer and theyre far too attached to their items. No one has ever given any other reason why they play in 3DP other than "I can see around corners and over walls" Remove 3DP. Ive seen plenty of reasons beyong looking over walls etc. For instance even with head bob slider all the way down it is still disorienting for people with visual acuity issues. If we didnt have iron sights at the touch of a button, or 3rd to 1st person view at the touch of a button I might see it as an issue but for now having a choice means more people playing the game. Even so the majority of servers should have third person turned off. Some people having some rare issues is not argument enough to keep it on every server. My opinion only though, since it's borderline cheating for me to use third person. :)

    Give the man a break. He was supposed to go clubbing and get laid tonight but stayed up and finished this. Let him sleep for at least one or two hours before complaining and whining. :) EDIT: In response to those who are shedding tears over how something wasn't fixed.

    Are we all facing the same zombies? :) I just sneaked through entire Zelenogorsk to test their awareness out and I didn't get spotted once. When I aggroed one on purpose I rounded one corner and lost it. It sure is more difficult, but it's hardly "impossible" now. :P

    Actually, I was supposed to go out clubbing tonight as well. Told my friends to go without me because I was sure the update would come tonight and I wanted to play it. So I feel your pain. :) Been inside re-playing Bastion all day and checking this thread every half hour. To be fair, I probably had a better time then if I went out...

Different levels of speed and awareness in zombies (combined with different skins and sizes of models) to represent state of decomposing, physique before infection and so on would be an awesome way to give some needed variation to the game! I'm still looking forward to the Z models without some limbs, like a crawler with no legs or a walker without one of his arms.

    I still don't see how a disconnect timer is "catering to the CoD kids". Please explain this to me. Also, all this crap about CoD-kids is the most stupid thing I've ever seen... it's like you all (the ones who complains on their high horses) only watches live chess games on TV (or live, TV is for stupid CoD-kids) and cries whenever someone interested in football shows up to see what the fuzz is all about. Sheesh.

    This is one really small and unnecessary change that I still wonder why it isn't in the game. When consuming a Soda Can, an empty soda can should spawn in your pack or at your feet. When consuming Beans (or other canned food) an empty tin can should spawn in your pack or at your feet. Then just lower the amount of regular empty stuff spawning. This could be used to see where a player was recently or to get some Z distraction. As said a REALLY MINOR change. :D

    I think it is worth a try. As with the bandit system, try it! If it turns out really shitty undo the whole thing. Removing the starting gun is a very interesting experiment and wasn't that what DayZ was all about? :) Anyway it is really easy finding a gun and if this makes you a little less eager rushing to Cherno or Elektro right at the start and build your character by sneaking to barns and so on I think it is an idea worth testing.

  19. So. Everyone rants about how this game is "hardcore" then turn their gamma up because it's too dark otherwise. Way to be elitist hypocrits.
  20. I'm mostly talking about the handling. Things like recoil and how steady you are. How used you are with handling a gun. There must be other factors in play that a game has to simulate that we in our comfy chairs aren't affected by? :)
  21. The accuracy question depends on what kind of characters we play as. As ArmA is a military simulator we play the vanilla game as trained soldiers. Are we supposed to be that in DayZ as well? I know I wouldn't know how to survive for shit in an apocalypse scenario, gun or not. :) Whether or not PvP is affected by the amount of ammo isn't really relevant in my opinion. If you kill a guy for ammo that's fine, because there is a reason for it; survival. I suggest it as a means to stop people camping a roof with a large supply of ammo just to annoy people. Defend different playstyles all you want (I know I am) but that kind of playing should realistically be very hard to accomplish.
  22. 1. Improve Z behaviour. They should walk (not aggro) towards ALL sounds in a large area. This will make you think before firing your gun. This would A) increase the risks of firefights, even if you win and B) reveal a campers location since there would be a lot of Z-people around a location from where shots originates. 2. Decrease the accuracy of guns and spawnrates of scoped weapons, sniper rifles and military grade weapon. Fights should be awkward. There is no fun in sniping people with an Enfield rifle from a couple of hundred meters. 3. DECREASE THE AMOUNT OF AMMO! Having even FIVE bullets for your sniper rifle should be considered a luxury. Now you can run around with a backpack full of the stuff. If you encounter another player you should think more if it is worth wasting those precious bullets for the lulz or save them for later when they are needed. Making the players aware of the risks (and increasing those risks) will get rid of the bandit "problem" (deathmatching) without some stupid punishment mechanic.
