I probably can. I just don't see why I should make it more complicated then it has to be. It works on Steam, I don't need another third party software. :) if I used Six there would be Steam, Arma2, the beta patches, Battle Eye and then Six Updater to check for problems if it does not work. -
I play DayZ on my Macbook Pro using bootcamp. It is a mess with the key bindings and I am too lazy to fix that but it works well enough,

Depends on my location. But most often I try to get in contact via Direct Communication. People would probably be surprised how friendly people actually are if you just make an effort. I have made tons of friends I now play with this way.

Great question! I wonder why no one else thought of that before! We will just have to wait for some answers since nobody else have asked this multiple times and no answers have been given.

I like to do everything manually to get rid of some variables... you know, for troubleshooting when it doesn't work. :) And I like to use the Steam Overlay. Nice job, OP. -
Drop the PC, develop DayZ for iPhone.

Amnesia is a video game. Wouldn't say its "fun" per say but it is still a great "video game". There are lot's of other games with the features some of the people want in DayZ, so why not play them and let DayZ focus on it's own thing? The same things that made the popularity explode from the start.

You (rocket) seriously should think about adding some sort of Disclaimer about the alpha state and experimentation on the frontpage. I think a lot of the hate comes from people hearing about this project and not realizing it's not a finished product. Yet. :)

When you said "Hive-Reputation" will that be connected to the Leaderboards and Profiles on the webpage so that exploiters will be marked as... well, exploiters on this website?

I am curious though about how severe the punishment will be for frequent loggings. :) A player that uses the exploit probably will think it is worth not being able to play for 30 minutes to save his gear and log out from combat anyway. It's a pretty difficult mechanic, I am not jealous on the people that have to figure out how to make it work. :)

You have mentioned being able to track other things as well, like if a player have fired a gun recently before disconnecting. Will these things be in as well or will they be tested in the future?

Alt+F4 is one of the exploits breaking the game. I say try it! Why not really? On a different note; are we supposed to spawn in Novy Sobor? Because I have done that. Twice. :)

Make sure (and i mean triple check) that you are running the same Arma2 Beta Patch as the server. Then just wait. Sometimes it takes a really long time for the character to create and sometimes Arma2 stops responding while on the Loading screen but with some time i get passed it anyway.

You got my respect for actually thinking your idea through and giving a lot of time to write it down and present your suggestion. Sadly I do not like the actual idea but hey, that's what a suggestion forum is for, right? :) This kind of system would be really creepy in a full blown horror game, but I don't think it really fits what DayZ is trying to do. -
I hope in the future there will be so many different tools and various stuff to do that you can't possibly carry it all. You have to make choices on what to bring with you depending on how you want to survive.

You pay for a server. It's your server. Do want you want. You don't have the rights to DayZ though. Sure. There are plenty of games for that. You still own the server you pay for, doesn't mean you can use DayZ however you wish. :) -
There are already plenty of reasons not to kill. I just now had a lovely chat with a bloke I met in a barn. Shared some cooked meat and moved on. I once joked that you should get Z-Points and be able to spend them on rewards. Never thought someone would actually seriously think that was a good idea.

What is wrong with some variation? :) Since everything else is based on time I would assume it would be easy (well, you know...) to make the probability to catch fish higher during dawn and dusk (i'm not really into fishing so correct me if this is a load of crap) and maybe even make seagulls fly above good fishing spots.

Well. I guess I would not mind if rocket adds a money item in the game and then let the player choose if they want to put some value in it. But no to NPC shops and artifical currency systems! Me personally I would not be able to care less about a piece of paper when I am starving...
