Have you checked the support over at battleeye.com? Or even on BIS's forum? Also, is it Steam or not? It might work manually downloading from BE and re-installing (and verifying caches as administrator in Steam and all that jazz). EDIT: Is it one server or many servers? Private hives or public? Nom nom nom more information taste so good. :) -
This was back in April, literally some of the first people to play DayZ. Some of them have probably received testing keys as well. From dslyecxi's blog: Q: I am sure as of late, you have probably been asked this quite a bit, But will yourself or any other ShackTac members be partaking/providing video content with the closed DayZ testing? How do you and ShackTac feel about DayZ in its current state? A: Some of us will be participating, no idea if we’ll be doing videos of it. As to DayZ - I’m not interested in the current mod version right now, but we had good fun with it back in April of 2012. I hope standalone can rekindle that fun.

How I hope we'll see a continuation of the Days Ahead series from ShackTac. They were among the first to play the mod when it was first released, so it seems fitting. :)

Graphics - Advantage with lower settings?

If only doing that for that reason I would consider it cheating. But some people might do it because of performance issues and then, well, what can you do? :) As I said before: if it is so important for people to "win" maybe this is not the game to play. I'm not playing it to win anyway. -
Animals that aren't infected but are carrying the infection would be fun in the worst kind of way meaning the best kind of way.

Join a random server and stay in the lobby. Write #beclient GUID in the chat. Pretty sure most servers requiring white listing informs about this!

I don't mind being able to do it IF you find proper tools and IF finding cartridges and all that is required. And even then they should be very unsafe to use. -

Like it or not, but that IS part of the game. So you want to be able to run into a town, grab a bunch of stuff and then safely just log out? Where is the fun in that? -
I don't get the feeling that anyone is fighting though. :) Discussions like these are extremely healthy, especially for a game still in development and with developers so open to feedback from the community! I have made my stance on the whole thing pretty clear but I do realize why others disagree and can understand many of the points brought up. As I said before; discussuions are fun! (and good)

Pretty much this yes. If I would like convenience and quick access to the action I would play another game more designed for that. Not having waypoints or any other means helps with the illusion of being lost in a new dangerous world.

Yeah, sorry, meant "leave the computer". I thought about 2 seconds about editing that but then I thought about 200 other things I'd rather do. :) EDIT: My point is that if you are in a position where you can't safely leave the computer for a few minutes you should not be able to abort either. OT now; there is a baby hawk right outside my window. It is adorable. -

Same here. Vanilla settings. And normal* difficulty as well, as in no crosshairs, no 3rd person, no waypoints and no side chat. * everything else is crybaby easy mode ;) -
