Welcome to the jungle of frustration that is DayZ inventory managment. I have been playing for over a year (one year and seventeen days to be precise, what the hell happened?) and I'm still second guessing and worrying when moving things around. :)

COD also didn't begin as a small hobby project by a single person on a niche military simulator. -
I'd say add padlocks anyway and let us be able to "lock" our tents. When stuff is stolen anyway it will be a harsh lesson on how DayZ works and that conventional game tropes do not apply. :)

Mhm, hardcore pole holding with five people... mmmm. But yeah, I can see what you mean. Every time I try to find a nice vanilla server my eyes tear up before five minutes have passed. And the ones I find puts me against two or three other players. Are people really this boring nowadays? :)

I voted yes on the first question because I like vanilla DayZ and the third option on the second because I am a dick like that.

Me and a friend spent a few hours running between car wrecks picking them apart and repairing another. As soon as it was good enough to drive we immediately drove it into a brick wall, caught fire and died. -

I'm not really sure how well it works nowadays but if you are infected, with the coughing and all, there is also a risk that players nearby will get infected.

You could try tabbing out of the game and checking if the sound mixer for some reason is at 0% when the game is running. Happened to me sometimes. :) -

I don't like when people use the reason "It's only a game dude." In the beginning of movie history movies were "only" movies and the real culture was theater and literature. It took 30 years before movies were taken seriously enough to actually be recognized as real culture. If we as a culture or community of gamers never allow games to think outside the box or evolve the "rules" of gaming it will never happen. Not really on-topic but anyway! :) I like the idea of a multiplayer game or experiences where you play against other persons, not other players; especially in a game like DayZ that is all about immersion and emotions. There could be somethins as simple as a random name generator that gives you a first and last name and you could reroll it. Actually I would like it most if you couldn''t see any usernames or playerlists while on the server so the username would not even matter. -
Should be in your User > Documents folder. You can check the path if you go into Settings as well.

Rocket said many times that the contract he signed with BIS when the DayZ SA was made "official" contained a part allowing him to go to Everest. So there really is nothing to discuss. Also, mandatory overtime? What is this, North Korea?
