Why did you start playing DayZ

My brother and I were discussing how we would design our perfect zombie game and how we would focus more on the survival aspect and the social interactions than the zombies. In the middle of the conversation he said "look at this, we should try this out!". This all happened in April 2012. Been playing since.

    Standalone and Xbox

If that is the case, that's awesome!

    Standalone and Xbox

On Xbox 360 yes. Not sure how it applies on Xbox One.
  4. I've played since April 2012 and I have killed five other players, max. Nothing wrong with playing like that. :)

    Sanity?

Thing is that I would like every mistake to be my own, not my characters. There are times when I have played (especially in the beginning when everything was new) where I have imagined seeing things at night or thought I heard gunfire just because I was so immersed in the game. That was scary! If mechanics were to be implemented to scare me it would probably cease to be scary at all. If the game itself does a well enough job to keep tension up I will be less accurate or make stressed mistakes all by myself fueled by adrenaline. :)
  6. Finally internet activism gets it's priorities straight and focuses on video games, ignoring boring stuff like some third world country no one cares about.
  7. Ah, ok. I thought you meant when you actually stared at the sun. Haven't played BF3 so I wouldn't know really.
  8. I honestly can't figure out why so many wants to hold on to the outdated humanity system. If you see a heavily armed player running around (especially if a system where interacting with bloody corpses will add blood stains on clothing) he/she obviously is someone to be careful around. Isn't that enough? An artificial system of numbers telling me whether I am a good person or not should not be a part of the game in my opinion and I really hope it is scrapped.
  9. What's so fucked with that? If you stare at the sun on a day without clouds your eyes won't exactly smile strawberries out of the iris. I would like it if the sun got a bit more real in the SA.
  10. It is spelled "fuck". Sorry if I'm being a cnut.
  11. Well, about a week ago he did announce they had set a release window and today is in fact Sunday. Can't argue with them facts!

    Banned for no reason?

  13. I imagine I will kill loads of people in the SA, yes. Unfortunately most of those people will probably be myself.
  14. I'm still most curious about copyright issues.

What do I need to Buy to play DayZ?

Requirements: ArmA II: Combined Operations DayZ Mod Files (Available on the downloads page) Balls
  16. Yep. The simulation part is great, it's the military part I dislike. Personal opinion and nitpicking obviously but it's the difference between calling yourself a "squad" or a "group". One fits a mil-sim, the other more fits a survival sim with zombies.
  17. Absolutely. Hopefully it steers away from that focus (without forcing it). The attitude that there should be a lot of guns and focus on military gameplay just because DayZ spawned from a military simulation seems hard to break down, but in my opinion it is necessary that it is! ::)
  18. Same here. The survival aspects and the interactions with other players comes first by a long way and is what made me play from the start and what made me continue to play. Guns are secondary, a backdrop and part of the setting; as is the zombies.

Did you know that there is some discussion whether glass is a liquid or not?
