Sorry to say this guys, but I cannot be the only one that thinks there is not enough communication between the devs and us. Yes there is Twitter, but it gets updated so rarely that you often find out about something after the fact. For example, yesterday the predicted server outage (forums/website) was for 5 hours, however it lasted over 8 hours. Now I would be perfectly happy if the devs cared to get on Twitter at around the 5 hour mark and just say something along the lines of "listen guys, we've been having more more issues than expected, servers will be down for another couple of hours". I would have been perfectly fine with that instead of the complete silence and the sense of being left in the dark - our group was guessing whether the servers were being DDOS'd or there was another issue altogether. We were also having issues getting on any server yesterday - and especially after the 1.7.2 dropped, with very limited info from devs we were finding it hard to figure out what was going on and I am sure we were not the only ones. Now let me make it very clear that I am very aware this is ALPHA and shit happens. However I do feel like the devs should make a little bit of an effort to at least keep the community somewhat informed as to the current events. Thanks for reading this thread, I am aware this is perhaps not the ideal forum section, however I would ask mods not to move this thread since this is the most viewed section of the forum and I would like to get some opinions for the fellow members as to their feeling on this issue.

I am not sure why everyone's raging at my post. I did not say at any point that a PR manager should be hired, however the devs could push updates just from their phones. I know they are running on tight/no budget but I did not deserve the amount of abuse I received seriously

There is global chat still on some 1.7.1.5 servers, just roll back your DayZ and viola

Reaaaaly? AKM is the worst gun in the game? Seriously? 1 shots zombies, downs players in 3 shots - or less if aimed right - is fully automatic, can be zerod and the ammo is in plentiful supply. Now I'm not sure what planet you come from but that sounds like a fucking gun I'd want to use in an apocalypse!

If you're on the very edge, you will notice that the grass stops rendering "on the other side". So basically there will be an imaginary line you need to follow. Also, in some parts of the map the boundary is actually a big black line

You can actually get noob to l333tz000r gear in about 10 min if you kill snipers in cherno/elektro after spawning :/

If I am correct that guy is from the server. Seriously, you guys duped so many tents it's not even funny, and I bet those FALs were prob duped too :/

Hehe, nice one House. Yeah we raided that place pretty hard - House was in our group when they had a shit ton of vehicles. We left 3 normal FALs, 1 NV FAL and some other crap behind. Watch out those, those fuckers had a couple of camps, each with like 5+ duped tents and some of them empty. Also, the vehicles that were left behind are: yellow car, motorbike, bicycle, tractor

So, all the noobs who QQ'd in BF3 and forced DICE to nerf weapons into the ground have gotten to you, Rocket? Really? Fuck those cunts it is unreal how shit a game gets when every weapon is the same and just plain boring - the L85 was a good top tier gun and I do not think it should have gotten removed - I lost mine to a server hopper though I am not bothered, but seriously, my friend lost one now he tells me and it's kinda pissing me off...

So you're saying that snipers cry because they can't be spotted anymore by the L85 Thermal? Not sure if stupid.... I think he meant to say that everyone WAS QQing bout the L85 and now they can snipe w/o problems. I've not encountered any snipers using l85 scanning an area instead of zooming in with the sniper instead' date=' as that method seems simply inefficient and too time consuming - the swapping weapons that is. It wasnt a safety net. Played with it for a DAY. I spotted 1 sniper with it which saved my squad but fuck that. You sound like someone who pvps for grief not loot

got killed by a server hopper with NVG, L85, gps... Was near buddies, they forget to take my L85, take a M249 saw instead, the NVGs get deleted in a full bag and the GPS i gave to a friend who wanted it badly... yeah

Yeah, I only had the L85 for one day, but seriously, those trees always force me to do a double take even with the thermal. I'm used to spotting snipers, in fact I've gotten pretty good at it, it's just the fact that it is really freaking hard to see people in ghillie in a tree even with binos - also since I do not snipe, I need to get really close and personal do fight them

Yeah man, that's what I used my L85 for... Scouting for those fuckers, going behind them and putting one between the eyes. Now they shall be even harder to find

Like I said before, the amount of L85s in the game could be adjusted by making them either even rarer, or decreasing the number of heli crashes. Removing the weapon is not the right thing to do - especially when it was the only anti sniper gun. Or at least include the reason in the patch notes :)

yeah people won't do that... and there is enough people already camping loot spawns like there's no tomorrow

dude that beta patch fucked up my entire arma - no joke. I can't play single player missions or join any online games. 2 of my other friends are having this issue too I'm not sure wtf is up :\ Nots, I did manage to get into a DayZ server and play for a couple of minutes, but that's it :\

Yeah I thought the gear would reset much quicker, I'm down with it resetting every new patch etc, but please for the love of god at least warn the people playing
