Yeah I hate getting killed, especially randomly for no reason - but then again, the other person might've had a reason to kill you - i.e your shiny gear. What you have to remember is that DayZ is as much or as little about PvP as you want it to be. You can actually play ENTIRELY PvE (of course you could bump into another player from time to time but that's luck). It's not easy meeting people in game and banding together, mostly because in game voice sucks balls and you have to exchange TS info if you wanna play together - assuming neither of you has been shot. Playing with friends gives you more control over what sort of game you're playing - single survivors won't fuck with you (usually) so you're safer and can still be a bandit/hero or just wandering the lands.

I wish I could erase the memory of Chernarus... If I could play the game once more as a noob... God that was fun! I definitely agree that game should have TONS of features that you find out on your own - I strongly discourage any new players (or anyone at all) from going onto wikia or any other website that tells you how to do stuff in an open world game. One of the most awesome things was finding out how things work, i.e I need an axe and matches to make a fire, then I have to set the fire up and light it. That's pretty damn awesome, even if it is incredibly simplistic.

Alliance scrub! I am against multiple toons for a simple reason - you'll have your one "main" toon and then you'll have loads of freshspawns with no gear. Basically what will happen is people are gonna suicide run into high level loot areas hoping to get an item or two and get out alive - risking nothing - then going back where you logged out your main character, dropping the loot... Et voila. You thought server hopping was bad... One character per server sounds interesting indeed. Sometimes you play on a specific server but when your friends wanna play on a different server (let's say it's more stable or something) you probably have to either suicide so that all of you can play together or carry them - carrying people is boring as hell, it's x10 more fun to start over, but losing the gear you acquired voluntarily sucks too.

Epoch is popular because its noob friendly and tries to be a MMORPG and not a DayZ. It's not anywhere near as hard as normal DayZ.

Please do go back to Battlefield or maybe try something more challenging for once i.e Arma 3. Military vehicles do not belong in a survival game. Unless the entire map is literally an abandoned military complex with unlocked vehicles everywhere, they have no place in the game. People played on those servers because people like you look for the easy experience so obviously you want to flock to the servers where you're instantly rewarded with DMR + gear and there's about 50,000 vehicles everywhere. People do play on the hardcore servers, just because you might be too ADHD to handle the travelling/quiet periods doesn't mean you should generalize the entire community like that.

I agree. I'm all for choppers in the Alpha so that we can test them out and see how the affect game play. If they allow people to dominate the map once again like I expect them to, they should be removed...

Have you turned the graphics down? What setting are you trying to run the game on? Are your drivers up to date?
