Ahhhhh I forgot to add and assumed you were having problems with newer versions of Dayz, if this is your very first time installing it then make sure that you run ARMA2 by itself once and arma2 operation arrowhead by itself once. This needs to be done to ensure that your key is registered and all registry entries are updated. Otherwise you will get bad key messages etc.

Basically, under install/update install the top 3 and make sure they say (up to date). Hi Stabin, my previous response will explain how to handle the replacement of the arma2oa.exe (check the box and let dayzcommander do it for you). You can update the beta patch the same way as you update dayz, click the update button beside it in dayzcommander. Follow the prompts when you do. Every time there is a patch update etc for dayz.. I have to do it on 5 computers...

Stabin, Dayzcommander does it all, check under SETTINGS (up top beside install/update). Make sure you check the following checkboxes - Launch using Steam (if you use Steam) Replace original ARMA2OA files with Beta so Steam Works. Thats really it, its quite simple.

Hi Stabin, as people have said above, simply download DayzCommander and click install. I however do not believe your problem is with the Dayz installation but rather the servers you are trying to connect to. Once you have installed DAYZ, use dayzommander to filter out non-same versions etc that you have installed, this will ensure that you are trying to connect to a server with the right version. Importantly make sure you are trying to connect to a low ping server, this means a server that is located close to you, you are looking for a ping time of < 100 to ensure you wont get kicked every few minutes. Give this a whirl.

Is there a hotfix coming soon for the Script Restriction #45?, I too have a hero skin and unfortunately cannot login either. When I read earlier in this thread that other people were having this problem I was hoping it would be fixed by the time I got home but I have just tried logging in and keep getting kicked out :(.

Thought I would try out a private hive, attempt to avoid hackers... so far I havent been too successful.. Last night, running through the woods North of Cherno I spotted behind me 'Jason', equipped with a ice hockey mask and an axe.. I managed to avoid him for 30 secs until he teleported onto me.. But the weirdest thing that happened to me was just then, both of these hacks occurred on AUSARMA ANZ#1, private hive, anyway, I was sitting behind a closed door, two bandits knew I was in the area and had just killed my friend, when all of a sudden my screen flickered, FOLLOW popped up on left hand side of screen and then my character took on a life of his own, he opened the door and then proceeded to simply run towards where one of the hackers was, I quickly tried to CTRL-ALT-ESC so not sure if I was quick enough or not but has anyone encountered hackers doing this yet?

oh great, cant log back into server now, getting this error message - You were kicked off the game. (BattlEye: Admin Ban (DayZ Anti-Hax 09.11.2012 17:38 (MP Event Handler Exception))) Can someone please explain what this is ?, I am assuming its a local ban and not a global ban, anyone else getting this?

Hackers love to teleport people to those islands... Also, there is a chopper spawn on one of them as well.

Its the Dayz Version, if I take my 1.7.2.6 character to a earlier version of Dayz, say a 1.7.2.5 server (either deliberately or by mistake) then I end up on the beach. Stay on 1.7.2.6 servers and you will be fine.

Bringing back the skins was the best decision they have made in a long time, hope to see it stay. I now have the choice of choosing to help someone wearing a hero skin (Yes, this can backfire at times but generally not) and I simply shoot on sight anyone wearing a bandit skin without remorse. Over 70% of our communication when dealing with other people is via body language, in a game like this you dont have this option, the skins go a long way of forewarning or giving you an indication of the type of person you have in your crosshairs. Otherwise the game goes back to a mindless slaughter again... *shudder*

Hey all, quick post to see if people are still able to save vehicles offmap ?, I thought I read somewhere that they have finally fixed it so you could only save vehicles within the map area but just want to check to make sure.

Hey all, just got back from hols !!, yay. Couldnt wait to log in for my Dayz fix but its lagging like hell ?, tested it on 3 machines, all 3 have got the latest beta patch installed. One machine is running from Six-Launcher, the other 2 done manually (which is how ive done it since day 1) but now all 3 machines are lagging really badly?, not ping lag either. I have checked the patch logs and nothing appears to have been patched since we left, the only change seems to be the beta patch. Anyone else experiencing lag lately ? EDIT: All solved, it appears that the server I play on must have a problem, played on a couple of different servers that have NOT got the latest beta and they are fine. Please delete this thread.

I dont think it will get that bad, at the moment everyone seems to be at the hating the devs for the moment (not me), then it will move to hating the dogs when they get implemented and we will see all sorts of stories about 'you shot my dog!' etc Given the amount of forum users and browsers it aint that bad actually.

We have found to avoid this issue stay on the one server, pick one and make it your home. This problem only occurs to us randomly when we change servers. I used to think it was going between a 1.7.2.4 server to a 1.7.2.5 but recently it happened when changing on the same version. Never has occurred when staying on the one server. But yeah, still a bit buggy in general, I think im starting to get used to the bugs now..

It is rare as I have not seen one in the wild either, at the moment though there are many many many dispensing tents that have it so its pretty common now until they fix the duping and fix the never ending spawning tents.

Yep, at the moment if I die for whatever reason I go back to a few good solid tents that are like dispensing machines and fully gear up, the only time wasted is that what it took to run to these tents. I vote Yes to a full database wipe. However, this would need to occur at the same time they fix vehicles and tents <---- priority

Hmm depends if he uses BattlEye for protection, if so then quite possibly the bans will carry across.

I think if the hackers thought for a minute that their bans would carry across to the standalone would make them think twice before hacking. I vote that Yes, bans should carry across.

Yeah noticed that a lot in Oz, we actually managed to get a quite a few servers up and running but now that list has halved :(, have had to change home servers twice in the past 2 weeks. Last night the admin asked everyone to vote on whether to roll back to 1.7.2.4 or not, he wanted to see what people thought, I voted No but couldnt see what others had said, think that server is going to roll back as well. If they dont fix the tents/vehicles then not only are we losing people (check the number of people on in the last 24 hours) but also servers. /shrug. Im sure those in the know know what they are doing.

Hmm its always cheaper and more effective to build your own PC from the ground up. Having a look at the specs then I would definitely say Yes, it will run Arma/Dayz. You have to remember that Dayz is running off Arma2 and this is now a couple of years old. The machine is a good build to work upon as well when you get more money, ie upgrade the HDD from 500 mg to a 1 gig. The only question I would have is around the video card, I would suggest trying to upgrade that upon purchase, you normally can get upgrades quite cheap with a complete system so look into that. I had a quick look at the vid card and even though it should run Dayz fine it is starting to fall behind against the newer cards out there. Ie it might run Dayz Fine but struggle in Battlefield 3 etc, lets face it you will be playing other games on this machine and even games that are not released yet. Just my 2 cents. Edit: Remember two things, 1) Dayz is going standalone, no idea what specs it might need or if they differ from now. 2) Arma3 is coming out, from all accounts this will need a beefy PC to run at maximum settings. Just giving you a heads up that you dont buy something now that is outdated in a couple of months.

To even the playing field. How many times have you come across a crashed heli to find its occupants laying dead around it. Inspecting their gear you find all sorts of stuff, this is what they are hunting you with, I say its fair game to use it back. Once the failsafes are put in and stops people from cheating then this problem goes away. Edit: Let me elaborate further before the whiners jump in. If everyone comes across some guy that has a G36C (however this is spelt) and they all go 'no no no mustnt use this weapon etc' then the problem does not get attention and these people are allowed to continue using it and having an unfair advantage. Now lets say everyone says 'woot' and arms themselves and continues to use them then the problem becomes much bigger and the devs are then forced to bring in fixes to address it.
