Worried about DayZ's future, let's discuss.
teih replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The only thing I'm worryed about is DayZ becoming more of a pvp game than a zombie apocalypse game. The PvP is key to the experience, as it brings to the table something that the zombies can never do: an constant unpredictable threat. But it needs to be balanced with the rest, or else the immersion will suffer greatly. Rocket is on the right track though by making the zombies more of a threat as to the newest patch, but as many know they are hard for the wrong reasons: pathing issues and glitches. It needs to be a fair challenge where if YOU make a mistake, you die. Cheap deaths should stay in the 8 and 16-bit era of gaming. And yes I know he is working on the pathing and so on, but he should have fixed those issues before buffing the zombies awareness. I hope he can balance the game out and reach the potential DayZ has. -
1.7.2 Opinion thread. All your opinions, good and bad, go here.
teih replied to Denuth's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I would've prefered if you had fixed the speed and pathing issue of the zeds before buffing their awareness. Also: some people say the ghillie suit was REMOVED? I thought it was just bugged. Edit: Just to clarify, I want the zombies to be a big threat, but it must be done right. The difficulty can't rely on glitches and pathing issues -
Well, I do have an extra can of beans somewhere in the bottom of my rucksack... I'll get back to you.

WHAT THE HECK??? ALL MY GEAR GONE, and I've spawned in the middle of nowhere
teih replied to Shard (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I am very sorry to hear that. I can't help you, but you should expect things like this by now. Do not get attached to your gear, whatever you do. -
Lost all items because I wore a ghillie suit.
teih replied to Brusann's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I lost all my items after attempting to equip the camo suit. Where: the middle building facing the small hospital in Cherno, second floor. My character started swimming around in the floor. I reconnected, he swam around for 3 more seconds before standing up. I also lost all my items, exept for my backpack and whatever was in it. -
A SOLUTION TO THE CAREBEAR PROBLEM!
teih replied to vonlinchen's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I loled Unfortunately I also see a solution to this threads existance. "A SOLUTION TO THE CAREBEAR PROBLEM!" All caps is bad for you. -
I think that instead of hating them we should just be thankfull that we don't have to live such miserable lives where hurting others is the only way of reaching a sense of worth, and a false one at that.
-
Thanks, I needed a red T-shirt anyways.

This video sums up why the zombies in Dayz are NOT fun in their current state.
teih replied to jenson's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yes, the zombies are in a very messy state at the moment. Everyone knows this, ESPECIALLY Rocket, who is working on it. -
Don't worry, you'll get to the point where you just don't care anymore. If you want to live, don't be friendly. Just shoot.
-
One of two things can happen: Either it becomes a spamm-fest for griefers (barbwire, tanktraps and sandbags) Or Rocket makes them rare enough that once you find one, you don't want to place it randomly, and it becomes a decent part of the DayZ experience. But I have a feeling you better stack up on morphine and bandages, to put it that way.
-
Yes, I can relate to this. Mainly because I spend so much time and effort avoiding danger that when I end up dieing, I don't think the death itself is bad, or that I lose all my items, but that my constant carefull planning was all in vain. It's also exhausting in the long run. Now I just sprint to all the key places as fast as I can to "gear up". Sneaking around constantly doesn't feel worth it anymore.

You didn't find enough joy from simply doing it in the game, so you actually logged on to the forums to hopefully, desperately try to find him, just to rub it in? Ok then.
-
Awesome :) keep it up.

Great story. May she have respawned at Elektro, that brave soul.
-
hahaha, brilliant!
-
Really? It fixed it completely for me when I first started.

Just threw up in my mouth a little

Sorry to hear that, but you know how it is. -
The Yogcast video sure did ruin the community
teih replied to JPalmer's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Simon on twitter: "Can people upset about the DayZ videos please unsub from us, then we will have more time to prepare our 2 million sub video special, thanks!" Someone can't take criticism I see. He wrote this after basicly calling the designer of the controlls a retard in their latest DayZ video, while Lewis was naming DayZ a "terrible glitchy mod game" -
WHAT?! *implodes*

Demotivating to say the least...

teih replied to psychopigeon's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
And that is nothing but a good thing, but for the people who can't play too often, spending 20 + minutes just running to find your friends every time they log in isn't exactly optimal.
