If the bandit skins are still in the standalone I'm going to be pissed.
teih replied to electroban's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
There is a "slight" difference between this and murder, not to mention that going rambo and killing everyone is the worst thing you can possibly do in order to survive. Humans do not survive alone. -

What utter nonsense. -

Do you honestly think that within months after the disaster, everyone will just lose their sense of morality? Not to mention that humans are pack animals. We don't just forget our humanity and transform into some nutjob who goes about killing every soul he sees. -

Being a serial killer could've been an interesting aspect of the game if done right, but due to the current build you will just appear like yet another "douchebag" running around, pretending to play Battlefield. This is, in my opinion, the problem with the game. Without any clear distinctions between groups, players just go within the same category: a personality grey zone where everyone are killing everyone out of either paranoia, or boredom. There are no bandits, no survivors, no nothing. It's a bloody mess. -

You want a realistic zombie apocalypse simulator, but don't want morality to be a part of it? Funny. -
Haha, I love your voice. Also, great video :) Subscribed

Fantastic post, I agree with everything you said. Sadly I do not think Rocket will be very interested in any of this, because he expect gamers to meat out the game for him. Unfortunately it doesn't work like that, as you said. Edit: I notice how you already are getting replys from people who have not read your post. Just ignore them, really.

I didn't look at the date of the thread because I am extremely tired. I apologize. I am glad to see you stoped communicating with those dicks. Good on ya!

A serious question for the PvP-phobes

Ok now I am convinced you're a troll. You can't possibly be this ignorant. -
Ok you need to relax. Seriously.

A serious question for the PvP-phobes
teih replied to TheMachine's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This is NOT about removing pvp This is NOT about dumbing down the game This is NOT about shielding ourselves from pvp encounters This is about how pointless pvp is at the moment. Seriously OP, listen to what I am about to say and you might realise something here. PvP is EXTREMELY important for DayZ to be what it is, and everyone with a clue knows this and appreciates what it brings to the experience. However, currently the world of DayZ is in black and white. It has no shades of gray, with very few exeptions. PvP is mindless fun. Why is this a problem you may ask? It's a problem for the ones who wants DayZ to be something more, where player interaction is an OPTION. We want survivors and bandits back again. Survivors are long gone, and bandits are overshadowed almost completely by the playerbase who replaced them: the mindless murderers. I could write an entire page about why players are becoming what they are now, but that's not the point here. The point is that currently you are FORCED to be a murderer just to survive. Social interaction is likely to be suicide 100% of the time, and noone in their right mind would ever take the risk. It's simply not worth communicating with anyone, ever. How is this a good thing? Really, please tell me. A lot of you have pointed out how this adds to the experience, not knowing who you can trust, having to "read their minds" by talking to them and figuring out what their intentions are. Despite doing so, the risk is still way too high for anyone with half a brain to take it. I am a rather good actor by nature, so good bloody luck to ya trying to figure me out before it's too late. Again, we do not want pvp to be gone, dumbed down, or turned into a "side thing" in DayZ. We simply want the option to team up with fellow survivors in the war against the infected and lone bandits/gangs. In all honesty I think this would only add to the pvp, and make it way more interesting than it is at its current state. In short, we want some roleplaying put into this simulator.- 167 replies

I am not sure. If he was only 62 meters away I probably would've, just for my own safety. But as I said I am not sure. Have to be there, I guess.

Does the community want DayZ to become harder?
teih replied to L0G!N (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Zombies and survival in general needs to be harder. There should also be more to do in terms of pve, or pvp will be the only thing to turn to. -
You had no choice.

Hahaha ;)

Wow... just wow. This is why I never approach anyone, ever.

My solution to anti-social behavior in DayZ
teih replied to sPloOsH's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
So a short version: It'll be like a class system, right? Blue = survivors. They can not hurt fellow survivors, but can kill bandits. Red = Bandits, who can kill everyone, including eachother. If this were to work I think it would have to be alittle subtle. I also think "blues" would need the ability to kill other blues, but with some kind of penalty like having mental breakdowns after murdering an innocent person, or something ammong those lines. Not a fan of the whole "gold" thing though. It would just ruin the feel of the game to have all these limitations. Besides, how often do you get killed by players during the first 5 minutes anyways? Edit: I also absolutely hate the whole "guild stone" thing that you mentioned at the end. Having such typical mmo systems completely goes against the purpose of this game. -
I got killed by a server hopper. I quit.
teih replied to SP00KEH's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I got attacked by a server hopper once, but luckily I planted a few more bullets in her face than she did to mine. Felt good. -
My character never has to go poo and now I mad.

Fixing KOS - Without hurting Bandits.
teih replied to Nebo NZ's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think making zombies the number one threat is a must, to be honest. I did not download this mod to only pvp, I downloaded this mod to partake in a zombie apocalypse simulator where survivors were on a constant threat of bandits, and more importantly: zombies. I expected players to band together against common threats. I would be the survivor, helping fellow survivors along the way while always watching my back for lone bandits, or bandit gangs. The problem is that there are no bandits or survivors in this "simulator", just a whole bunch of crazed murderers going apesh#t while dodging zombies like they were only mild annoyances. I mean, even the ones who still want to play this as a zombie apocalypse game are forced into the playstyle of a murderer JUST to survive. Edit: I just find it funny how Rocket keeps saying that we can not penalize the bandits in this game (by making them look like bandits, for example), because it would ruin the purpose of the mod. However, by making banditry (or murdering) completely consequence free, and as a resoult of that make the game "kill on sight" as a chain reaction, you are completely DESTROYING the surviver playstyle and overshadowing the bandit playstyle in the process by making it a forced norm. If that's not penalizing a playstyle then I don't know what is. -
Help me understand the butthurt over PK'ing, Bandits, PvP, killers, etc.
teih replied to ElemenoP's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I am not sure what game you've been playing, but the only "people" I see teaming up are IRL friends or gamers resorting to meta-gaming. This does not count, for obvious reasons. -
Good read :) I honestly enjoy this game the most when I have very little of value. Losing some of the best gear in the game to a glitch/server hopper/hacker/forest sniper, hurts. A lot. But we humans weren't designed to do with what we have, now were we.

That's bloody awesome.

To the two people who I killed at Chernogorsk
teih replied to Zeorsq's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
By shouting "friendly" you have a bigger chance of getting shot than anything. 1: Hardly anyone trusts you regardless of you saying you're friendly. Shoot first, live to regret it. 2: A lot of players simply want you dead no matter what your intentions are. 3: You are giving away your position, so even if you find out the guy in the store is hostile before it's too late, you'll still be in great danger. So even if I appreciate that there are still people like you in this game, hardly anyone would take the chance to communicate at this point.
