The engine doesn't allow fake inaccuracy because the bullets come out of the barrel and are not spawned in front of the player like in other shooters. A circle won't help either because you can still use the center to aim unless you make a circle larger than a character.
-
If they add body armor they should also simulate the pain you have when you get hit. You might be able to stand up again but i bet you will feel very lousy after that. There was a soldier who got hit in the plate and still broke a rib or two.
-
Doing headshots only is an arcadish way of playing this game and guarantees your death if you miss which is frequent given that it's a small target and moving in most cases. IRL you aim for the largest possible target and that would be the torso and give it a number of hits to be sure.

Third person vs First person view

You can still use it quite well....you don't have to keep free look activated and can instantly react to threats. That's worth the money and even more if you didn't just buy it for this game. With 1P only it's a force multiplier. The best situations you can use it in is when you try t peek through littel holes or the round windows in the barns, i've used it to snipe through those windows without the enemy ever realizing where i was shooting from for almost 30 minutes. And before anyone cries again that you can win by peripheral hardware, there is no substitute for skill. -
Yep, if you would use 1P a lot of action menus would be easier to access...there are exceptions like gates but not really something to complain about.
-
I meant the regular bullets... AP, tracers and even RAUFOSS for the .50 already exist in ACE. Not that it's really necessary for survival in DayZ though...I'd rather have a can of beans instead of a truckload of AP ammunition in a eat or die situation.
-
If you can detect the bullet as it passes by the player you could say that he is in shock therefor the player can't disconnect if he doesn't want his character to die...
-
It should be easy for them to widen the attack aread of an axe. But bear in mind, you can still fail to hit with every melee weapon... They need to allow the player to swing while walking instead of having him "stick" to the ground but stanind still and swinging is very safe and i'm sure the chance of hitting something is bigger. Try running around when chopping wood then try to hit your target...
-
ACE already has that feature, you speak, everyone around you hears it. You speak via radio, everyone around you hears it and everyone on the radio set on the same channel hear you... They should just take the idea and place it into the SA.
-
That's what most weapon owners complain, too...but the gun manufacturers are having problems on how to attach the crosshairs in front of the user.
-
Special can become very common very fast thanks to modded mission files. Military ammo is already existent in the game, that's what you are shooting with..or what did you think... you were shooting plastic bbs?
-
Ehm here...i'd love to see it in DayZ...Actually i want BIS to buy the ACE team and let them program the rest after BIS finished the basic parts and models.

copter variants and weapons

I want a C130 with a 10t fuel air bomb... -
And that's why i posted above...how many genuine hunting rifles are in the game.... only one. Too many weapons with a military background. Apart from the AK and it derivatives there is not really much to choose from because a rugged rifle that doesn't need a lot of maintenance and is easy to handle ( point, aim, shoot, oil it ) is the first choice in a country like Chernarus, or else the AR would have been the first choice for your neighborhood terrorists ( the chinese would have built them even without permission if there was a market ).
-
Tell that to the other game devs who force you to play the way they want you to...see? Nobody forces anyone to play a game if they don't like it...
-
I wonder how players who want an easy DayZ play BF or similar titles where they have to achieve goals to get better stuff...if they actually play these games...
-
friendly fire should be an option on servers

What about hunger and thirst? -
I doubt there will be that much hollowpoints or other special ammo since a lot of rifles ( Enfield, Mosin Nagant ) also use military calibers and they usually go with FMJ, even the 9mm parabellum and 9x18mm are jacketed. The next round that came after FMJ would be AP imo which isn't that common at least in the hands of civilian shooters.

Third person vs First person view

If you move the camera up too close your cahracter will fill up the screen and you won't see a lot of what's in front of you anymore. The closest what you can get in reality would still be a camera in the head, if you take the 1P view and zoom in you get a decent fov at the cost of a fish eye view, would be a better compromise to the current 1P view imo. I don't really need it since i use TrackIR and always keep my head rotating which has saved me a lot of times. Fov doesn't save you when you run around with blinders ( meaning a lot of players i watched before i shot them never really turned around or at least turned their head to watch their surroundings while running around, they would have seen me it they had at least done the headturn ) Let's wait what happens with the Rift, if that thing comes out as a final product and at least offers a 720p resolution although i would prefer a 1080p but i don't know how if 720p is already enough at goggle distance, at least this device promises a 110° fov maybe even with an option to have a head tracker. I'm already thinking about getting me a developer kit just to test it out instead of a 21:9 monitor. But i doubt many DayZ players will actually use this because they already have a tight budget regarding computers and you need some GPU power to run the double load graphics wise. -
Ah yes....sure 100% will run for the ammo dumps and weapon factories for special ammo if there would still be anything left if not already broken.... that would be a fraction of a fraction IRL in case DayZ happens. Normal ammo is good enough, AK rounds can punch through the slanted rear wall of a HMMWV in game FYI, guess what it will do to a Lada.

Rather a KSVK for eastern states...or not? Afaik the CDF has 100% eastern equipment.
-
You don't enjoy a zombie apocalypse...
-
Maybe lag, of course from distances it's a different story. I usually shoot two or three times just to be sure enough pellets hit the target over 100m, IRL you would already use slugs at that point, but slugs are too UP imo for what they are. I actually prefer pellets over slugs since you can scatter and hit multiple people at once. My buddies shake their heads because i always try to get AKs or shotguns and would even drop a scoped rifle for them lol.
-
You actually have a 100% kill probability when shooting pellets at close range in ArmA even with DayZ hitpoints, it's 2k damage? per pellet and 8-9 are coming out, so it's overdeadly to be precise.
