    So they are actually overpressured HPA rifles or are they running on CO2? nvm just found it, they are technically HPA rifles that can shoot civil war type lead slugs. Looks like the power is similar...
  3. You should get a pretty good idea of what can spawn where considerung you know what kind of area you are in ( residential or industrial f.e. ) without a loot map. For starters it's quite a good help but not really necessary for survival. It's like telling someone in front of the cinema how the movie ended he just wanted to watch. If they want to use it let them...they will end up disappointed most of the time anyway...

    How do these guns store the pressure? I'm sure it's not a multiple shot rifle with like 5 shots in a row ( i read the story about the two shots ). And the distance would be quite limited at an average 50 yards for that rifle in the story to be deadly won't it?

    Country in the North

    Given the relatively minor danger you have to face in order to get the gear and decon it that's not a good idea. What stops me from going there with no care of beeing contaminated grab everything i want then head back, commit suicide, return to base clean it up and it's mine? With a 24h temp lock out it would be a good idea but not the normal respawn way. Even if you had to decontaminate the things you would still have to deal with the radiation that you can't just wash off and of course the area you contaminate while decontaminating the equipment beeing in your living area...
  7. To counter that they would have to spawn different loot classes on the map so those maps would turn worthless. Also they should really randomize the crash sites, they are always on the same spot no matter what.

If the pictures i saw were really 5.56 hits ( claimed beeing shot from 10m up to the effective bullet range - not 200m+ ) then i guess no one would walk away just like that and shoot back like they only recieved a fleshwound...Doesn't really matter which bullet it was in the end because whatever caused it made the limbs look like bursted sausages, chunks were missing.

    Read again...he had the gun in practical use and both pistols share the same ammo. Then think what you want. And i don't know if the rumor about the 9x18 beeing weaker than the 9x19 is really true or not.

    well...sounds do add to the mood...when i try to remember playing the first ever version of Aliens vs Predator i can still recall the terror i had when my motion tracker started beeping...( i was sitting with a friend in a dark room when i played it so imagine the panic :lol: )
  14. That's what i was referring to, that bullet won't bounce around like a rubber bullet inside a vehicle until it hits something that stops it because if it doesn't hit anything that's it. Of course it can come back almost the same way it came in, too but i doubt it will bounce around cartoon style like you were picturing it.
  15. That isn't a rubber bullet...and if you hit the right place...then maybe. In the game you can kill the passengers of light armored vehicles with a .50 if you aim at the right place of course. It was quite entertaining to watch the AI trying to replace the driver one after another just to keep their vehicle moving... Maybe because the devs are western gun fanboys...?
  16. Some things can't be changed but most things that can be changed to provide an even playground should be, don't you think? The only hope one can have is the anti cheat program beeing able to detect them.
  17. ArmA vanilla doesn't have such a system in place. It works on hitpoints - so basically you can even disable the tracks of an armored vehicle provided you have the time and amount of ammo. A group of players on the same side as we were who were jealous of our group having captured a Bradley before thy could in Wasteland shot my left track to force us to come out, it was undamaged and became light orange due to the gunfire...really great if you consider the game having a simulation background and the old LibMod beeing able to simulate armor penetration ( either it penetrated and did or didn't do damage depending on the hit location or it didn't penetrate at all causing no damage ) although it was a fan made mod...at least you can shoot other players who think that two car doors can save them from a .30 cal bullet.

There is still the problem with the invisible camper like Max posted above..there is nothing more annoying than beeing sneaked upon by a guy aou can't see even if you keep your head rotating 360° because he watches you in safety behind a corner and waits until you show him your back and bam...you are dead without him risking beeing seen when having to peek around the corner to see what you are doing because he already did that from the safety or the 3P camera...It doesn't matter if you are 3P or not because as his target you won't see him either way. And blocking out pixels is no solution because it can be hacked. Removing the possibilty to exploit as with the crosshairs beeing removed is one solution. Your solution can still be a safe location 3P peeking around the corner exploit.

    surrender animation keybind

    Why would you want to surrender in the first place, you want to be robbed then killed instead of being killed then robbed? If you want to show you are friendly just lower your weapon, if the other one fails to do so you still have the possibility to get your weapon up and shoot. Either a keyboard that supports macros or create a macro via software, i don't know how the second would work though.

    And you think you can escape those problems by playing alone? There are more problems with the mission and engine than with hackers and such...
  23. And that is still too much considering there are a lot of players who could have found half the amount in six months on the same server, too. You can never cover the whole island and you never know how much of those spawn unless you have a spawn statistic somewhere showing otherwise. And that's where a portable rocket launcher comes in play because it's more effective than a single bullet if the chances to encounter a light armored vehicle are minimum, why waste a magazine on a vehicle when you can waste the gunner with one shot...imo the big snipers are too hyperized as the universal weapon for every need in games and are always wielded around. Those rifles are no longer anti material rifles anymore and nobody is hiding that fact...

    The devs should be able to extend the border with ease, a player was able to place all three or was it all four OFP Islands on one single map so if he can make it they should be able, too. The distance is just laughable, no use going to the airfield and taking the risk of finding parts for an aircraft if you can go there easily by boat or even swim if you are bored...

Well said...having the cam moved close to your head is nothing more than having 1P with a block in front of you that reduces your frontal fov... btw. i have edited my settings according to a post here in the forum and guess what, i think i have an even bigger advantage now because i get to use a wider fov with those settings and turn my head too. There is really no complaining about a reduced fov because with the suggested settings you also see a big part of the side windows when sitting in a car which means a more natural fov even if it has a kind of fish eye effect on the outter edge. Even 3P can't give you more fov than 1P because the screen only has that much pixels, and i won't stop repeating it...
