Then let's wait for him to make a statement regarding that, as long as nothing is said the original Chernarus history should be followed. When i hear a .50 going of it's actually pretty close ( so close that you can hear it lol ) which is close enough for any other player with a scoped rifle to be able to kill that guy, too. When they hopefully change the sniping mechanic ( there is a demand so i think they will do it ) there will be a huge demand for unscoped rifles because having to snipe in rifle range because you can't hit shit can't be fun... ( i nailed and killed a guy with a KSVK when he tried to shoot us in another mission than DayZ/Wasteland, he was way too close with 500m and in range of my M16A4, he couldn't shoot back due to the suppression effect it had when fired upon - i literally hosed him with bullets ) -
Not that it really matters right? A tank crew shot a guy with an RPG who wanted to fire on their Abrams...the gunner's fastest option was Sabot... Having two different bullet types is ok, we already have slugs and pellets for shotguns/winchester. Having armor piercing would add some flavor but isn't really necessary, i don't think ( or at least don't know if ) Rocket adds/added high class body armor that can stop rifle rounds. It's bonus is useless on unarmored targets anyway.

Let's wait or a more advanced product first...and wait until they have stable 60 fps for the game or it will be a useless gadget.

You should start a thread about that, let's see how many will start to flame... The zoom is also something like the 3P, it went like "it should replace the missing focus you normally have IRL when you look at something", yeah right, i have an autofocus in my eyes for these cases. It was removed Project Reality, nobody complained so far or at least the devs didn#t care about it because they think it's part of what PR is about. -
The AK will stay longer than any other weapon on this world...even the original AK47 is still built in some countries because the users favor the durability compared the stamped AKM. The AN or AEK would be a good addition to the arsenal, better that another western weapon that shouldn't be there.

I don't want any equipment that shouldn't be there geographically and military history wise. -
If you use 3P you will have a slight misallignment, 1P virtually none you just have to watch that you don't point your muzzle into a wall while your head is above it and shoot. The best way to let them learn is not to give them the option for crosshairs or any kind of help that makes the game a walk in the park or they will always use the easy way just like every other exploit one can abuse. If you can't hit a zombie with crosshairs at close range i would visit an eye specialist. ;) Even i can hit them in 3P no crosshairs without aiming, "hip firing" with the camera "aiming" alongside the barrel of my gun because i always had to carry the scoped rifles.

"Cheap" animations i guess...You see enough of it in the game. Maybe because it's post OA.. A2 doesn't even have working flashlight or laser modules, OA does.

Then they should ruin their monitors if they want to. If new players never ever had contact with crosshairs in game they will never miss them at any time. For vets having any visual obstacle removed should be great thing, finally you can see a lot more of the game.

I've never said that, but lame excuses are lame excuses. The fact remains that 3P is used mainly for peeking than really seeing what your character is doing.

This is not the only type of bullet that is available in that caliber.

If you want to feel your body then let someone put you in a freezer for 500 years, maybe they have invented the brain plug in the meantime... Whatever excuse/problem that may be it applies to every fps that came out in the last decades and i haven't heard of any complaints that people have problems getting used to their virtual body and surroundings.

Still doesn't justify why the gun should be there... Read more about the background of Chernarus...what units where there, what weapons did they use...etc... That's what you should be able to find in there ( of course way less "imported" ones ) -
Still doesn't solve the problem of the underpowered gun problem. You shouldn't be able to take a shot even from a .22 from close distance and walk away without beeing affected ( i was shot in the back multiple times with a Makarov by another player, at first i ran for cover which is the natural response to a threat, after looking at my health i said WTF!!?!?!? did he even hit me or did i hurt myself by hitting some trees on my way? )

You see enough of your character if you are willing to move your head around, i can perfectly walk on edges with 1P ( even before using TrackIR ) ...And with the clunky animations which will not change with the new animations made for DayZ there is nothing one should be looking forward to in 3P view. You don't even need to see what your character is up to because you should know why it is doing the current animation ( which is always the same animation whatever you do so nothing to see on this end either... ) People just don't want to admit that they need the 3P view to look over edges, 1P players just gave up and go to 3P servers almost only to pvp because they have more victims there.

No talking of balance please... Every weapon in the game is capable of one hit killing. The problem is that with the power that comes with these weapons you don't have the downside of having to deal with the weight issues and handling difficulties like IRL. That's the only point that is disturbing to most who are so contra about them, not that they do that kind of damage, it's the ease of use. -
Both are good as long as the overall number of russian weapons is at least 3 to 1. I hate to see groups of 5 players where everyone has a western weapon...chernarussians and guys from around have their pride, too you know, they wouldn't use a weapon fron the "enemy" :P I doubt in an apocalype foreigners would go out this far ( it's almost 1/3 around the world from the US or Central Europe ) And you have an ocean in between or the arabian peninsula...

Well they are not 2000°C hot but prolly quite hot, i don't think that would bother you anyway since you will have a big hole in you that will draw your attention. But currently guns are more like a minor a nuisance to be honest.
