Imagine you are on a trip halfway around the globe and this happens to be in Chernarus...where would your family be in this case? Use your head and think out of the box, possibilities are endless. In case of radar and team markers popping above your head: NO, this is not BF. BIS is already trying to minimize the hud so this idea would really be counterproductive. About the radioactive twinky, watch the video carefully... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0p4fkH9qC4M

Good thing this is not BF... The system doesn't favor loners...would you immediatly know how someone feels or where someone is if he was behind a hill IRL? If you met a person in the wilderness IRL what would you do? Would you shoot him like in the game or what? People whose only option is to shoot ruin the game, it was never intended to "shoot first, loot later" because players who confuse the game with a shooter made this game what it is now. This is not a game where you can place a radioactive twinky on your enemy...

Suggestion for how infection could work

That's where your education to a doctor comes into play....bad day for a layman. In case rocket tells the truth his brother is an expert in virology and stuff like that so this department is already covered imo. -
Survivor Zombies NOT DEAD ONES

ehm... Stargate ftw...? -
Yeah the bb guns might be a good idea to threaten someone but pretty useless if the other one doesn't care and tries to shoot you anyway like it would always happen in the game. The strongest bb guns would be able to hurt you but it's more like a sting than anything else and the bbs would never penetrate the skin. It can only be dangerous if the target doesn't wear eye protection. Of course you have to get into range first if you really are insane enough to fire an aeg at a person armed with a real weapon
-
I wonder how often players would break their suspension...

Would be nice, how old would these guns be, do they still work ater not beeing touched for a long time? Spare parts...etc. Use some common sense, where would a museum with such a collection most likeley be...in a large city or am i wrong...would they have any live ammo at al? I doubt that. What would you want to kill with a high powered pellet gun? You could shoot their eyes out...maybe from 100m. Guys from an airgun have proven that even the best pellet suited for long range shooting is practially useless beyond that range because the aerodynamics of the bullet draws a lot of speed from the bullet. It's quit useful for hunting small game if it's powerful enough...not those 7,5J guns we are allowed to buy over here that are already useless up to 10m lol. Don't know if the last one is simply trolling but if someone was pointing a bb at someone and started shooting they would most likely laugh and pull the trigger... How do you want to use the gun anyway...gas or batteries? Propane might not be a problem but an electric gun needs batteries and how will you charge them without electricity? And in a country where you are happy to be able to afford a gun for hunting everything that we take for granted is pure luxury.

Except it will not work that way...

Why the hell does a museum store medical equipment like blood bags? I bet they even have an ER with a wax figure of George Clooney... I don't think they have any ammo stored in such a place either, at least only dummy ammo , they are not an ammo bunker or supposed to be used that way.

human powered transport (primarly bicycles)
enforcer1975 replied to Ruski's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Chernarus isn't that poor but i would expect anything from a bike over a horse carriage to a lada...maybe even a "Rolf" or two. Any fall can be serious or not, remember a lot of deadly accidents happen in the household and they range from falling from the roof to falling from a stool and can vary in injuries. You can already just trip over and break your neck if you are really unlucky. -
Usually players shooting from that far don't want to loot you anyway... The first thing is good, you'd have to be pretty close to get your reward. I would even have the limit closer that 500m...
-
So you want blood that looks kind of like this...? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0mdRZ6Ygpk

But it would be great if every weapon could keep data like how often it has been fired without cleaning, how often was it maintained, how good was the maintenance ( not just wipe over it with a cloth ), how long it was lying around in the water/dirt/mud, how well was it handled over months of gaming so that everyone who might find the gun or even take it from someones dead body had to deal with the problems the weapon had throughout it's life. This way maintenace would make more sense, otherwise it's just a gimmick if a weapon is picked up by a new player it is all resetted.

WTF..why dou you always come with this silly hald assed stuff? Why don't you make a pocket nuke in the first place?
-
I personally wouldn't even carry a tire around ( for hours ) in the first place since it's quit heavy ( of course it depends on the vehicle ). There should be something that needs a team effort to put bulky and heavy items into trunks or on the truck bed. You can't just heave a heavy engine into a vehicle all alone, either with a small crane of with more people. A 2L carburator engine with a gearbox attached is already heavy enough that you need 3 or more people if you want to be sure to not drop and damage it. A fuel tank might be light enough but it is still quite bulky to carry around without limitations. This is not a "punish lone wolves" suggestion...it's just logical.

Toilet Water / Nausea induced attack
enforcer1975 replied to liquidcactus's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Well as you can see there enough stupid people who would do exactly that, let's hope they forget what they have done and fall for their own trick. Then again with the server hopping possible i wouldn't want any option involving beeing able to contaminate water or food sources due to reasons mentioned above. It's not good if the perpetrator can just connect to another server and be safe. If you had to use a different avatar on every server i would welcome the idea since most will think twice about doing something this stupid because it can also affect them. -
Hey you there could you help me load up this palette of be... *BAMM*

Keep dreaming...with 1337 3P it's impossible.

An Idea From AC3 And Rising Storm
enforcer1975 replied to Devon206 (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
The "blood splatter" you see is actually a decision so players can tell if they hit someone or not. It's not like there is a cloud of blood spraying around when you hit someone unless it's from a bigger caliber to the head but that would not be limited to a cloud of blood only... -
Technically the coast line would be a river IRL...i doubt they would place a river into an existing map because they would also have to change the terrain surrounding the river to make it look realistic. OFP already had a map where you had a kind of river running into the ocean, compared to Chernarus it looks like it has a lot more land mass. It looked kind of like this from the air.

make hair growing and scissor for cut
enforcer1975 replied to wild_man's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Oh yes, also make it that i have to shave my pubes and have to be circumsiced to have a lower chance of infection and getting crabs "down there" while we are adding realism... -
If that bores you i bet you don't play CoD and BF anymore since it's basically the same... :P Ok look...a M4...another one ...another one!!! Yay i got tons of M4...that's boring to me... I don't know where you live but in eastern bloc states a lot of things can be the same. Imagine Pripyat...all buildings are the same...did the players say it is boring? btw here's a pic...now that would be boring with your definition.
-
Except all survivors are immune to that disease... Yeah black is always boring...how about this one for a change?

Here is a crazy idea, what if there was no weapon attachments?
enforcer1975 replied to Lady Kyrah's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Yeah but think about it...99% of worlds "freedom fighters" use AKs or a similar make. The US forces where there. Did the "freedom fighters" suddenly spam M16, M4, M107, SMAWs, Javelins etc.? No, they are still using the weapons they used for decades because the US didn't leave creates full of western weapons and ammo in the combat zones. So why should there be an abundance of western weapons in Chernarus where the number of US forces was a fraction of what the Chernarus und Russian forces who used soviet equipment ( taking the M113 and other exceptions aside )? It's not the amount of military weapons at all that annoys most players, it's the people who expect the wrong kind of weapons in the country. Nothing against a 5% amount of western weapons but not as it is/has been where every team you met had a M4 or a DMR because they are 1337.
