    You just add extra weight with no benefit from incoming fire. Those stell plates are not hard enough to stop a bullet anyways. Most HMMWV crews didn't even up armor their vehicles because it just made them a slow target.
  2. We encountered a lot of others ( loners and groupers ) who had tons of mags that you could fill two of the bigger backpacks with the weapons and ammo they carried. Well...they were actually stupid to risk all that just to be able to shoot one or two guys who happen to be in a group of up to 10... ( point team ftw ) at least they can't DC like they used to when they found out they were about to get f*cked after finding out they bit off more than they could chew.

    stronger cars

    No amount of "armoring" will save your car from getting damaged when hitting obstacles. The material underneath just isn't strong enough, you would have to build a car out of at least 1/8 sheets of metal and replace most parts with stronger ones to make it very durable. Don't underestimate how much weight you can add just by doubling the thickness of the body parts. They did make cars with thick walls ages ago and they weighed tons, well they weigh tons nowadays, too. On the other hand having a car without crumple zone will kill the passengers when hitting an obstacle even at very low speeds. The human body can only take that much.
  5. Yep, BIS added a so called "grass layer" a couple of years ago thanks to players complaining about that hiding/not hidden problem. Of course if you try to hide in grass that is about 10cm high and stick your head close to the ground you won't see a thing either but you will be seen since you stick out like a sore thumb...

    Only because it's in the game doesn't mean they have to use it. I hope they do change the weapons list quite a bit according to the country setting. A SV-98 would be a better choice for Chernaarus since it's an eastern bloc weapon. There could also be import weapons but i doubt import or spec ops guns will be that common and actually accessable in a place such as Chernarus. A backwater country would get 3rd grade or lesser equipment, that's the russian way. I never heard of a country other than the soviet union sporting the newest tanks and equipment when they had a word to say because it would make it difficult if they would betray me and they would stand on equal footing with my forces.
  7. Rare or not rare wouldn't stop KoS. KoS is an element that was introduced when CS kiddies found out about this game. The only common goal players with no imagination have is to shoot each other on sight. Even with only one round left they would still shoot eachother or use the hatchet if they have no ammo. The only cooperation they know is "i kill you to make you cooperate and take all your stuff". Random players would never join forces to loot a town, share the resources they have and go their way, there will always be an asshole who wants everything for himself because there is no need to hesitate, "it's a fucking game".

    Great alternative to the action menu

    More shortcuts, less scrolling. I wonder why they must have double of triple ways to perform an action. I already have a switch weapon/handgun/grenade button so i don't really need it in the scroll menu, i would only need those to access a crate, open doors or enter a vehicle, there is already a shortcut for exiting vehicles, i am almost always one of the first to exit a vehicle in case of emergencies because everyone else scrolls. Pretty stupid imo that they keep this over 10 years, they could also have made a intelligent action menu that puts the action on top that is closest to do, i.e. only show "enter vehicle" when you are facing a vehicle door and ignore the crate that is to your side so you would have to face it if you want t access it then it would ignore the vehicle door. I don't need to be flooded with 10 action choices when i have 10 items surrounding me, i would want the one i am facing to be the only choice.

  11. Don't confuse America with the rest of the world. Not everyone owns a basement full of mil spec 1337 pwnage magpul branded civilian weapons outside of the states. I would say most weapons in Germany would be .22 because they are also ridicolously cheap to keep over here but there would still be the issue of a gun license and only a few select people ( mostly not your average citizen ) are given a carrying permit. Even a french acquaintane of mine lives in a small town where practically everyone owns a .22 for hunting and he mentioned not every gun was legal and there are no stashes of FAMAS with loads of ammo.

    Most likely a larger group of players or even other clans will group up and mop them floor with the people blocking the source either because a) they don't want someone sitting on a free resource or b) they just want to KoS or c) they want to pvp, which is basically b) d) also a possibility: go to another server thanks to server hopping...so "owning" something doesn't really mean anything.

    I'm sorry that you are ignorant but the ArmA engine is supposed to be as realistic as possible, ACE even takes it closer to realistic. The blood system is what doesn't fit into the damage values, i still wonder why they didn't change it.

    It's not lag...it might be a crappy PC...what are your specs? A GTX660 isn't enough to tell. Guides don't usually help since ArmA is very picky with hardware.

    Spawn rate of soviet based weapons should be 10x of western military weapons. And civilian weapons at least 20x of the western military weapons.

    So basically you would also run around in a suit 24/7 because we are surrounded by viruses and bacteria. A "plastic" suit won't help you much since it will rip under force. I wouldn't be surprised to find a lot of old NBC suits in some underground soviet bunkers.

    Bushways - Little fields.

    Well yeah there's a bit more to flying...you also have to get down safe. And the major problem would be a lot of people already get lost on the ground without noob mode...how bad would it be in the air? I see it this way, a lot of survivors wouldn't know how to fly a plane in the first place, maybe some will learn by doing but they still need some time but not with zeds crawling up your ass after you started the engine and try out the buttons and levers. Starting a plane that doesn't have a convinient car engine is already a challenge itself with choke and all, most people would think of choke as the other choke because wtf. i just sstick the key in and turn right? Even i would think of using a car instead of a plane since it's not just flying straight, on a road you can evade a hole. If you are in a plane there are a lot of dangers non experienced flyers or people who think they can fly a plane will encounter like stall, bad weather, air pockets...how are they supposed to react to that? You can bring a lot of examples, in a car you just park on the side when you have a problem..not with a plane.

    The map is not dynamic so it's impossible...maybe in 17 years with ArmA 20 "Post Apocalyptic Warfare".

Well that's true but we all know what will happen...You throw 3D6 until you get a strength of 18(00) On the other hand to prevent players from not taking a skillset they have to play at least x hours until they can either choose to get shot by a friend or foe or eaten by a zed to get a new life and a random skillset. I know you have a choice in life but it's pretty difficult to realize in a game. Almost everyone wants the munchkin skills.

    Bushways - Little fields.

    Chernarus already has two small fields and you can also use a lot of streets to land your aircraft, you don't need 100 airstrips in a 225km² area, in my region i know of 3 such fields about 20-40km max. distance between them, one is for gliders only. Or did you mean another island?
