    If you ever find a US weapon in a post soviet country, quite a few are fighting to have a more realistic setup in DayZ "Chernarus+" so dust your AK and practice reloading!!!! :lol: Isn't a speed reload completely different from a tactical reload?

    Why so many weapons again...? I disagree a bit with the car colors...in post soviet union you could be happy if you were able to choose from different colors other than black or white lol :rolleyes: jk I don't think they had colors like red candy metalic, grabber blue or gotta have it green in the soviet union to choose from. Plain colors like green, red, blue, white, black would be the typical colors in an 80s car setup. While removing zeroing might be a good idea i would only slightly modify it. Normally you won't dial in every change in distance, you just wouldn't have the time and could easily confuse which way to turn the nob in hectic. The PSO scope on the other hand was meant to or could be adjusted much easier if my information is correct, you measure the distance with the rangefinder then you could dial in. You could even shoot yup to 1300m using the first three chevrons when you dial to 1000m. With a mildot scope you have to do the match after measuring the height in dots ir mils then either dial if you have the time or just add elevation. Normally you would stick to a certain set distance and do the kentucky windage.
  4. You can't have real time flora since every object is static. That also included textures you would have to change for every season. So you would have to make a map for every season sicce every season looks different, that#s how it works in ArmA.
  5. Would be kind of a death trap if you ask me...you have to think like a KoSer thinks in this case..would you still want to use it?

  9. Not possible with the static map, you would have to make 4 maps for 4 seasons, maybe 20gb of data.

    That's what i am hoping, too. Less server nomadism, more "home" servers. You can't possibly be bound to a server and male yourself a home if you always hop around to fight other people. Of course it sucks if you don't get any action at all, but not knowing any exact numbers or ID of players you will still have a lot of tension.

    ArmA 3 has something like that although it is farther from the real thing imo that it is in Red Orchestra because in ArmA 3 you don't have that edge blur and the zoom is still for the whole screen when you zoom out the scope. I was hoping they would at leat do a decent job on those 3D scopes but knowing BIS i didn't have high expectations. The game is still BETA after release, lot's of stuff left untouched i'm sure they knew of.

  13. People...save a bit of money to get a decent rig. You can't expect the developers to make a game from 2013 run on a computer from 1999...

    Well you can see something, it's a bit more difficult than IRL but it's not impossible. A lot of games use that to their advantage to make the player feel the faked distance even if it's just 200m f.e. a medal for a 200m sniper shot with a scoped rifle with 10x magnification.

    Mod Suggestion: Convert between SD and non-SD?

    That can easily happen with this wall of text :D the loudest would still be a supersonic bullet due to it's supersonic clap. Even with subsonic ammo you would still hear the sounds of the gun itself if you are close enough because of the moving parts unless it's a bolt action - the least you could hear is a pop of sharp pfffff sound. That's one of the most misleading parts in the older action movies where suppressed weapons were involved that you could never hear them. That's just a game/config bug, a player can still hear another player shoot SD ammo in an unsuppressed weapon, it's coded so the AI doesn't hear you when you use it in the weapon it's meant for, it's actually a form of "bug" using imo. I don#t know why the SD bullet flies upwards though, could be to alter the zero of an SD weapon and of course the projectile drops very fast. You are wrong assuming you can't interchange supersonic and subsonic ammo but i also thought that at first a long time ago and stood corrected, the only difference would be a subsonic rounds wouldn't cycle a rifle due to the lack of power. Suppressors are actualy made to last a couple of rounds and don't easily break like in f.e. in certain video games unless you really mistreat them.

    Imo muscles are going to be affected the most during starvation because other than fat which will also be used up by the body muscles use up energy the body needs to survive so the natural reaction of the body would be to get rid of "consumers". Extra muscles are a luxury to the body and can only be maintained by having the right diet - a good example would be ancient athletes who were the among the few ones who had the money and time to afford it. Lots of people end up with more fat than they started because they had the wrong diet.

    If they make it their policy then they have full control or at least for a very long time. EA also went that path, you couldn't actually host on a server of your choice but had to rent a server from their partners.

    The zooming part without binocs was explained the same way as the situational dots problem. It's due to the limitations in the game where you can focus or have peripheral vision IRL...i wonder why they did that in the first place with ArmA 1, i can't recall seeing it in OFP or it might just be too long ago since i played but every other game that calls itself military shooter is played without the community ranting about that and there are ways to increase your fov to match the maximum possible fovs in those games. I recall not having the zoom function in Project Reality because the so called jump and run shooter BF2 community ( which i was part of some time ago ) that started playing ArmA 2 because the team switched to that engine didn't like it.

    You won't be able to stop people from hosting their own servers ( for whatever reason ever even if they are only two people in a group ) nor the providers from renting servers to those people because that's how economy works: supply and demand. If you are willing to pay for the loss those companies have due to these regulations you propose you might be able to make them limit the server numbers to counter low pop servers. In the end they have to earn their money somehow. One way of combating empty servers but keeping groups intanct would be a system like in War Thunder where you can form a squad without any other advantages but still be able to join a server if enough slots pop up.

    I've had the chance to use a couple of binos and scopes and it really sucks when every bit of twitching can throw you off target with fully magnified optics. It's not like in the games of movies where you just see an overlay to show the bino/scope view like in most games. It's not like you really need the best of the best out there, it's about what is practical as Chabowski says. But that's an impossible task concerning a lot of players are munchkins.

    Great and how do you want to populate a server if it's emtpy??? ...where is my wall...??? They should have never allowed or give a reaon ( KoS players and hackers, which didn't really stop them ) to create private hives in the first place. If they allow this mistake to happen again DayZ SA will end up like the mod: Too many cooks spoil the broth.

    Didn't you read what i wrote above? It seems they couldn't code the ammo type to go subsonic when used f.e. in a MP5SD so they had to go with two ammo types. Why you can't use the ammo in any weapon seems a mistery or a technical hurdle oer just a config problem. And long before some players here were born they used subsonic ammo to keep the signature of the weapon low IRL while sacrificing range and sometimes damage.
