I don't know if you meant me but surrendering in a game where life has literally no value except the gear there is no real meaning in surrendering, you just start over again...angry is what most players would think. And beeing outgunned or outbumbered doesn't mean anything either...if you are along they take your stuff and will most likely kill you anyway just for fun. Or if you are part of a team you just call them via any kind of communication if they are close enough and ambush them yourself. A lot of things will never happen in a game as they do IRL. A lot of players just live out their fantasies in game because they can't just go out killing people on the streets if they had a weapon IRL because it would have consequences...that's the major difference between DayZ and RL.

And how do we dead with the deathmatchers who could't care less about living long? They would pose a problem once they have found a weapon or got lucky and killed a naive survivor who had one. I hope they think about people dying too often, too. A lot of the players who have a survival goal rather than confusing DayZ with an all out shooter would try to keep their life as long as possible so what kind of "vaccine" do they have against them? -
Ok let's make them add this but in exchange we have to have at least a G25 for realistic driving or at least something we can use as an analog clutch...and to able to drive at all...

The original blood was around that level or even slightly less afaik. The blood level in DayZ is what messed up the entire weapons damage, without that or if they used the normal levels there would have neven been a weapons damage problem and therefor no .50 cal race.

There are different buttons, one for radio and one for local chat. If you press your TS button you speak locally, if you press the radio button you speak locally and the voice is also transmitted to everyone in range who is on the same channel.

Couldn't they still detect that something is beeing sent, there is still an activation signal. -
And what do you think "positive and negative karma" is in script? You will be marked as "free-for-all" if you do too many friendly fires. Place a platoon of soldiers in the editor, choose to play one and start shooting your people, they will kill you in the process. That's how the system works behind the curtain, no magic and not currently invented from rocket. The only difference is they slap a bandit skin on you, and even then the AI would kill you because you are still marked for the kill.

I don't know about the mouse button but it is possible to block all keyboard input. -
Technically zeds are civilians which should be indies set to "friendly to nobody". This side thing was part of the military game ArmA anyway...in the SA there shouldn't be any sides at all imo.

Forcing the mike to open in game every time you talk in any voice program or everytime something is sent via mike without the ability to turn it off like in ACRE would counter this trick. Just how would you make them add this into the game and how big would the outcry be from the people losing their only advantage?

A lot has to be added to the game other than "over-zeds". They are already difficult enough, the part that has to be made more difficult ist the survival part and it's abundance of materials. Limit the things we took for granted in an organized world, that will automatically increase the zombie threat level. -

That's why it had been suggested to never show actual numbers. Even with 0 players the server will show "low population" to decieve each player. Removing the join message and player list entirely will make the player always act like he is never alone. -
If they actually allow it, but that will take some time anyway since the SA will be in a pre Alpha state because they never built upon an upgraded version of the previous game, they started from scratch with all the known bugs they removed from the previous version back. If you have seen how ArmA 3 was released you wouldn't trust them to release a game without bugs.

One thing i can read out if this is a player faking a surrender trying to lure in his "enemy" and communicating with his allies via voice program so they know when he gets close enough to shoot which brings us to another topic here in the forum. IRL it would be obvious if you were to communicate with someone, even if you had a full duplex radio that kept your hands free you would see a person talking to his device and you would become suspicious. And of course it's just a virtual life and i can go back to my corpse anytime to pick up my stuff because my friends are guarding it.

Yeah and that recoil on those large caliber weapons would normally break your spine, too...i'm happy i bought the game a long time ago because what i paid was what it's worth imo considering the long BETA period and the time they had to remove flaws and i don't expect any major improvements on the long run. I pity those who bought it at the current price without testing... -
Humanity shouldn't be measured. A lot of the players lack common sense, compassion and humanity anyway when they turn on their computer.

That's difficult to prevent. Wth ACRE which was bound to TS and ArmA your mike was muted when you were unconcious or dead so that would work but i don't know about the other 3rd party voice programs. It can't work on a voluntary basis because i know every player wants to get the most advantage he can. If you were able to add an ACRE like plugin to all voice programs via DAyZ SA who would prevent people from disabling them? You would have to make the SA use a forced system ( so it can't be undone without consequences like a player getting kicked when he turns it off ) like that to prevent players from having an advantage if unconsious when they play with teammates. Also if players actually were to use TS and ACRE as a voice program for everyone you would need to have all players in on TS and in one channel. And with a lot of players having their preferences in voice programs that's an impossible task. Blocking the use of VOIP other than the in game one is something only the developer can do if they wanted.
