So now we are also mutating...? That's exactly what you need to do. You have to stop KoS if you want players to value their character more. The only ones having a laugh in the end are the KoSers who will make it their life task to shoot the ones who value the game time they invested into their characters. The normal players who approach others aren't the problem here as you stated. KoSers and TDM in DayZ players are...i don't mind the few who shoot out of fear..but not many will come to you and try to barter, or would they? -
I imagine a shotgun is more intimidating than an AR in the ranges the cops keep to their prisoners, if they get farther away they still have slugs and i don't want to get hit with that either ( about .72 caliber and around 38g per slug isn't healthy at all :lol: ) It's like a taliban beeing afraid of a .50 at 1000m :P If they actually manage to get out of the prison courtyard they would have a battalion of cops chasing after them.

I'd love if the helicrashes would actually happen during the game and not spawn at the start like they do right now. Imagine everyone seeing a heli flying around then trying to follow it hoping it would crash somewhere close. -
And yet again...another I WANNA HAVE WEAPONS thread...You didn't really want the prison in the first playce, do you? ^This 9mm .38 or .40 pistols some ARs and as a versatile weapon a shotgun as a lethal selection. Non lethal would probably be sticks, stunguns, some non lethal rounds for the shotgun and stingers ( not the AA missile!! ) I doubt they have scoped rifles like you see in those old hollywood ganster movies. In Chernarus they would probably have AKs, Saigas and a selection of pistols...non lethal? HAHA!!! :lol:

I know it's your signature...but releasing a product as alpha after an alpha test is quite ( not ) funny don't you think? They did have a lot of time on their hands. On the other hand they also released ArmA 3 in a bad state after a long period of alpha and beta testing...so in don't expect that much. -

There will alway be a way to tweak it so it's effective. WTH is this supposed to mean? They had half a year of alpha testing and how much(?) experience in the mod...this is no excuse imo. -
Didn't mean to offend :lol: Yeah but at least you get what i wrote...let's see how rocket decides what to do with this problem if the only excuse is solved by a view character screen in the SA. They did mention they removed the crosshairs right? So it would be quite the waste of ammo..let's see how many would actually do that :rolleyes:

Make it simpler without blocking a player...if a player reconnects to a server his last location and time loggged out ( let's take your 10 minutes ) is checked. If the player changed his/her location in this time frame he/she will be spawned to the last known position on the server ignoring the position that was in the connection info. It can be used as a countdown timer f.e. on disconnect timeout for player x minutes, on reconnect check time, if less than 10 minutes check if new position = old position, if both are the same proceed if not goto last known position at logout...kind of like that. Or simply a character per server...is what if would prefer to keep the world a better place with the optionto move to another server in case of a shutdown. That would also support regulars in building their life without the disturbance of KoSers who try to disturb others anyway. -
An arrow isn't the kind of kinetic energy projectile as a firearm, you would expect that kind of lesser damage to happen. It's like beeing stabbed from a distance more or less...if you are lucky you hit something vital. If you wanted to one hit kill a person with an arrow would have to be like 2m long and 10cm in diameter to compensate the size difference to like small game to an arrow. I had one occasion where i needed 2 arrows for a zed.

But...but...snipers are trained to shoot under every condition. They even made a sniper shoot a target after beeing covered in ice for a couple of minutes. They even measured his core temperature and heartbeat. So in think an elite supermarine sniper could even bury himself into an ant hill and completely ignore those nasty insects. He might even have fun if he is M.

Well...most of the interiors are from OFP... Why is it so important? Most players use 3P anyway.

You mean like the drop animation of the mod even if you are already dead. Then after the animation the actual die animation plays?

The game is about survival, not about 24/7 gunfights. You won't get skills just by shooting all day, you would be deaf btw. You already have tons of reasons to want to stay alive: the time you spend on your character and the loot you gather isn't enough already? I don't have to think twice if i have stabilized my life with the gear i collected. KoSers on the other hand have no reason to live no matter the reasons to survive, they all just live for the moment they meet the next player. And that will never change unless you reduce corpse despawn to 1 min. f.e. -

You get what you find in your life...no special abilities please. The only ones who would have the advantage are the KoSers who would obviously have the longer life span. -
I found a good video of what i think is the difference between the real muzzle flash of a gun and a hollywood style muzzle flash. The rifle is a Mosin Nagant M44 meaning it doesn't have any kind of muzzle device. Look at the difference in lighting between real rounds and blanks. The ArmA flashes are still too far from the real deal imo, they just added it to help the players see where the shots might have come from...Firing an automatic weapon can give away your position much easier because the "flashtime" is much longer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Ia1VDp1320

You would have to get rid of boredom first...we don't know how rocket wants to do that until we see for ourselves. Rarity won't change the player mentality at all. And the ability to build camps or houses or vehicles wont do either. Since i started playing again i really didn't see any difference other than it beeing more difficult to find stuff ( at least where i play ) and when you got enough you just go play TDM with others. I had such a case just yesterday, 14 players, 8 of them doing tdm out of boredom with DMRs and Armalites, 1 freshspawn killing my buddy in the staircase because my buddy isn't the "shoot freshspawns guy"...so he was taken out..i shot the guy when he wanted to loot him and we got his stuff back. It's basically still the same...it just takes longer and actually nobody seems to want to "live" in the game, the only tiem plyers work together is when they know eachother and when they tdm against another team instead of trying to communicate ( verbally ). I was asked by another player if i wanted to build a camp with him but since the other server closed due to lack of players that problem was solved anyway. At least you don't get übermilitary loot unless the admin tweaks the loot tables.

LOL sure, now we are also weapon experts who can build laser or satelite guided bombs with wiki(leaks)... :lol: -
It's not depending on daytime. It's depending on temperature, humidity and altitude. When it's night and a moon is shining you might have a bigger chance to see it since the water particles might reflect the light. Even then i don't think that you will be able to spot a person from the typical DayZ shooting distance, the vapor dispersal would be too fast.

Flash hiders should exactly do that...hide the flash. Muzzle breaks like on the AK 74 however don't do that quite well.
