At least a constructive way to use useless items. OPs suggestion is a good way of turning perfectly good ammo into useless shit for KoS purposes. You don't need scrap electronics to repair a russian helicopter, they work withsteel cables and vakuum tubes for the on board computer to fly. Do military vehicles use basic off the shelf electronic parts...? -
Because they have fixed locations for the crash sites. Of course people are going to run the route they know where they know crash sites appear. The chances are sometimes slim but often enough you just run from one into the next. Using the whole map to spawn a crash site should be a priority.

Finding a crash site by chance makes you feel quite lucky if you didn't really look for it. Farming really sucks...i also followed my team a lot of patches ago...it was terrifying how many weapons you could amass in such a short amount of time, they kept looting until we had a pile of at least 50 rifles and countless other sidearms and other loot in at least two piles lying in the forest next to the location. Of course i took an AK to fit the region while most of the others took western guns.

Dying can take from seconds to minutes, sometimes giving a quick witted victim enough time to retaliate if you don't have him in a hold. It's not like in BF: stabbed in the back instadeath, stabbed in front normal damage.

I think that would be a major offence if they made a game with an ESRB rating of T then added content that made it either M or A rating without having it re-evaluated. Afaik Steam can block content in such a case or else that would make them a partner in crime if they wouldn't. -

If you mean you were trying to host a DayZ mission they might have locked the scripts so nobody tampers with the data. -

Not really an excuse imo, you can see clearly before you connect if the server has good ping or not. Even good servers can end up beeing a lag orgy at a moments notice, just one script has to fail and you have it. It's up to the player to decide if he wants to connect or not, in most cases players have only a few servers they frequently visit so finding a good server is not impossible. Only server hoppers visit every server they can find to get loot. For players who have a permanent bad connection or f.e. live in Oceania it won't make much of a difference since their pings are always bad. The suggestion is like hitting two birds with one stone...it stops/slows down server hopping for loot ( rare stays rare ) and it stops ghosting and maybe even more? 15 minutes might be too much but you have to discourage misbehavious somehow. This....i was positively surprised by that one Sahrani server i visited that had this feature, i didn't check if others had it too because i usually stick where i start unless it's a bad server. I have to find out if it's a standard feature to all Sahrani servers or only for that particular server. Your avatar stayed connected for 40 seconds after disconnect in this case. Edit: So i played on another Sahrani server until a couple of minutes ago stealing my way through life without killing anyone except zeds :lol: Seems it was a server feature...you still have your 30 seconds logout button light up delay though. -
The russian had the 1911 and Thompson as lend lease weapons in WW2. A lot might not have made it back you know...

LOL did i close the window too fast?? This kind of flashlight was already used in OFP, if they manage to find the data and put it into the game...But i must say those flashlights were pretty useless thanks to the clunky movements of the characters, the solution with the flashlight on the rifle is so far the most stable illumination method they made so far ( watch how much the torso moves, now imagine the light cone moving all over the place but not where you want it to go if you had it attached to your chest ) I think they are just outdated. Maybe you can find them in a military surplus store?

And how would that work? If you minimize the game and go on your desktop all your input is not going into the game... Well maybe he wants to watch pr0n while his character takes a long walk from Olsha to NWAF and looks stupid after tabbing back and seeing that his character was either shot on the way of ran against a wall and got mauled by zeds :lol:

I see by your post that they did a good job with the update. Only because it's a military vehicle it doesn't mean it has to carry weapons to under the roof, i can also be carrying nothing at all. If you don't have to fight you won't need to haul weapons, ever thought of that possibility?

If available mortar and artillery shells would be the first to be used as makeshift explosives...it's just way too difficult and dangerous to "cook" it yourself. I don't know any numbers about how many blew themselves up trying but i'm sure there are a lot of unregistered cases in some caves far far from here. Unless i could google it or had experience what i could use as an alternative detonator i would probably either fail or have a surprise success on my first try...no not by pulling the pin, striking it against the base of a mortar and lobbing it against the wall :lol: -

There is one difference IRL..you don't have TS to call for help and many use the excuse "it's just a game anyway" for KoS. They don't even want to play a role. IRL you would be occupied with your role and would not do a lot more than that, this would get quite boring in the game. Who would want to play a surgeon who has to stay at home while the rest go on a raid to find food? NOBODY. I had enough examples in Sahrani Life, there were lots of things you could do in the end but people prefered to KoS in the end. Even if they had to rely on people manufacturing food there would be 1 out of 50 who might do it because he needs it himself, the others would just kill either him or others to get it, it's not like you would earn a fortune out of it anyway. You can't have a solution without enforcing some kind of rule and that again is also a topic a lot will fight over the same as decreasing KoS and increasing the value of life in game without turning it into a grind-kills-shoot-em-all-fest. -

Or just a timer that you can switch servers only after you have been connected for at least 15 minutes. Most stay longer anyway. -

Your hidden eye just doesn't need to adjust to the darkness...it still doesn't give you some super night vision capabilities over your normal abilities. If you wanted some sort of pros and cons about night vision you also have to consider the eyes "blind spot". -

I don't know if it was part of the mission or if that was an actual scripted plane crash. I found a crashed C-130 near the NEAF in Sahrani with some loot inside... -

Yeah but normally if you were in a survival situation would you really want to run around and waste your time creating explosives and making holes into f.e. prison walls just for weapons anda lot of aggroed zeds? The chances are pretty low anyway if there were still a lot of inmates they would have used up all the resources by now or maybe even turned into zeds which are quite numerous in case it's a big prison. Tracers are no guarantee to ignite or explode flammable substances such as a gastank, a full tank might only burn, a partly filled one might explode under perfect circumstances. I don't think they would go that far just for this, there are more important things for the release atm. -

Maybe they could use the different damage states? Some buildings already miss parts of their walls when they are damaged a bit.
