To lessen the negative outcome of an event is not the goal of DayZ, unfortunately because you can respawn on the same server you can get your gear back. Leaving equipment will not reduce KoS imo since you entitle them to KoS in giving them their equipment back because that's what they want anyway besides shooting other players. You will never be able to reduce KoS from a nuisance to casual events because the players are here and they won't change their gameplay unless you make them. And that's where "don't tell me how to play" comes into play. Rockets has to admit someday that he has to do something against this problem if it still occurs in the SA or else he will lose a lot of his reputation of which he already lost a lot imo. Let's see how he wants to make people play his way, maybe it will be the same as with Origins, so far i've read it's frowned upon as a "less loot version" of Taviana.

If their brain were gone they would be dead. I would rather see the zeds as humans in a rabid like state. No social skills whatsoever, the only emotion they know is hatred towards the living ( maybe because they are different? ). Basic skillsso to speak. I don't see anything stopping them from doing what we do expect manipulating complex things like weapons, vehicles and other things like f.e. bandaging. Firing would not be a problem, even a monkey can fire a gun when he pulls the trigger but i can hardly believe you can tell them how to point a gun at a target and hit it.

Well they said it's a post soviet state, it's rural, it's remote. It's not like in any modern industrial country where even the most remote place still has internet of some sort, it's more like an abandoned industrial part of the former soviet ruler cast aside because it's of no use anymore. This country has the basics, nothing more what you would expect from a country that is more or less being exploited like every other colonial state. And there a lot of different types of 3rd world counties and there are also different types of developing countries, i would count Chernarus to latter. A good example is China, while the major Cities seem to be overflooded with modern architechture and technology there is nothing of that kind in the rural areas, no running water, mostly no electricity, almost no to no medical care at all, it's literally stone age. It's not like where you live...30 minutes to the next doctor.

You don't have a part that is contaminated and a part that isn't contaminated. It's one mixture in this case.

It takes more than a year to deteriorate but i know what you mean, fuel tends to gather water over time. What would concern me the most ist rusting fuel tanks on the old chernarussian vehicles.

A lot of vehicles could still half a lot of fuel in them, maybe they were left when people got stuck in traffic or because of a breakdown of some kind. I like the current way some mods are going with vehicles beeing salvagable and the way you can siphon fuel, they should just add more detail so you can't take f.e. a carwheel and attach it to a truck or vice versa. And also like them to distinguish between normal gasoline, diesel and aviation fuel instead of generalizing it. Using normal fuel in jet engines should have an impact on the performace and of course damage an engine if you put the wrong fuel in a vehicle ( gasoline in diesel engine or vice versa ).

Finally a use for the cows other than just for the meat. :lol:

Any effort in doing and kind pf death or fake animation would be very useless anyway. Either players would just pull off another shot or in most cases...

Do you mean the scaffolding or a drain? It must have been added since the church doesn't have either of them by default.

Do you see any tourist hotspots or villas in Chernarus...? Of course you could go to the Cherno factory and watch russian forced laborers build a light cruiser just for you.

The vacuum tube was a joke, i hoped someone would get it. The first computers the size of a house used vacuum tubes for calculation ( see here if you want to educate yourself http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer ) and i was kind of referring to the "low tech" side of the old russian equipment. In a survival situation you would normally leave something you can't eat or help you survive. Yes a weapon helps you survive and hunt game so you have food on your table but the current use in DayZ is a game of hunting players. btw...a lot of people would have get used to the taste of wild animals like f.e. deer because they kind of have their own flavor compared to our everyday meat. ^ This

You can't live on sea forever. If rocket decides to add disadvantages for one sided nutricion or you need mdeication you would have to go ashore. The small boats you see are not high seas capable anyway ( sea sickness ).

There should still be a difference in numbers concerning the numbers of US and CDF/Russian equipment especially small arms, the conflict with the US is very short compared to the time they had to equip the CDF military with russian weapons, and the russians also collaborated with the Chedakis afaik...more russian gear. I don't think you will find that many western vehicles compared to russian ones either. Didn't they only have that one carrier close by? It wasn't even a big one. I think i will not be playing the SA but rather a well thought out version of the mod if they go this way...and i was pretty sure they would stick to their course for an authentic game experience. I'll be joining depending on the list of what you can find ( promarily the origon of the weapons ). The alpha will take a long time anyway...i'll stick to a working version so far.

True...there are a couple of thing that don't fit into DayZ rarity wise... The .50s were desired by most KoS players because they wanted a 1HK weapon against players...you rarely encounter vehicles, even on servers with 500+ vehicles you still had to find stuff to make it work and most didn't even bother because they were either shot up by those players or most didn't even care for one because they wanted to pvp anyway. And using a vehicle in DayZ is like kicking a beehive and waiting for the bees to sting you.

Yep...i was pretty occupied sorting out the players who connected with AS50TWS among other "rare" items during night time on our server when they knew they were hacked in at that time.

There are a lot if land mine fields all over the world, the closest to me would be the balkans ( still quite far though ). But if they actually used the backstory of ArmA 2 there wouldn't be many or any land fields because the conflict didn't last generations like f.e. in Cambodia where they had generations to hide those mines in the earth. And the mines players would lay in game would serve no other purpose than you know what because it would blow up the entire vehicle = no loot. And would survivors really lay mines or minefields to deny an area? I dare to say 99% wouldn't even want to touch one. There are other methods. In the end the one who laid it drives over it himself :lol:
