Keep zombie and player speed the same, there is no reason to differ the movement speeds. Zeds should even be a tad faster and endure a sprint a bit longer since they don't get tired the same way a "normal" person would. Players on the other hand should suffer from carrying heavy weights like they do now. Having to decide if you want to bring two rifles for the extra pain or is a days worth of food ( which is a lot lighter and more useful imo ) and water more important should be one of the things a player should ask himself. If a player decides to carry a ton he should collapse if he walks/runs too far and too long.

An older co-worker was driving a support truck off road during his days trying to stay close to the tanks he had to follow, if he hadn't fastened his seatbelt the roof would have had a lot of dents. He said one of his comrades crashed into the ceiling one time. That should show the ruggedness of those vehicles. Even though they were much weaker engine wise and lighter than the US trucks they were much lighter and could climb places the US trucks couldn't. Afaik it was something like this, of course it's old and has a manual transmission but that wasn't a problem back then because 99.9% were used to driving stick.

OMG way too cheap. If Obama raised the taxes just a bit he would have no problems with his budget. I clearly have the wrong car for this country :lol: 1L=1,41€ over here for E10 since regular was removed a long time ago.

I'm sure newer vehicles are automatic, it has multiple advantages like Weparo said. Having an auto driver learn stick can be difficult and you won't want a driver stalling an engine in a critical situation, think of it as eliminating the weakest link in a chain. Afaik the HMMWV has is automatic like every APC and as a famous example the M1 Abrams. And if you are wounded you only need at least one working arm and foot to keep the vehicle moving. They say in the years where the automatic transmission got a lot more modern and efficient people tend to buy them more often for their new cars but that only counts for cars normaly people can't afford like f.e. a BMW or Audi which costs a fortune to buy. Just an example in the small car deparment ( The 2014 Fiesta ST costs 21k USD while in Europe it's 21K€ which is 28k USD ). Cars for normal people are driven stick due to lack of money and a lot don't seem to feel comfortable with automatic transmissions ( it still has the stigma of beeing associated with US cars and their high fuel consumption ). Fuel prices didn't play a role in the US a long time so people didn't really car about gas mileage. What's the price for E10 or usual fuel over there atm?

You should need a manual pump or a hose and a blonde to get the fuel out of there or get some generator to run the pumps of the station itself, i'm sure anyone who can turn a car key has advanced electrical skills and a swiss knife to repair a nuclear power plant :rolleyes: -
I know you live in the US but most cars outside of the US are "stick mdoels". An autotrans costs 1000-3000+€ in Europe depending on the car. I guess they don't even have a drivers license anyway considering the average age of the new players. ;)

In reality you would have flown off the bike and broken every bone or fell on the way there, i really miss the possibility for one to fall off a bike if you lose control like you would IRL.

Well it's not the only zombie game anymore and there are some games that show some potential at least in crafting and stuff. If Dead Island wouldn't have focused on melee and made fire arms entirely useless it would have ben a better game imo. Maybe i'll try Seven days to Die eventually if it really is something like Minecraft with different graphics. The different stances may be one of the few things ArmA 3 did right. I am totally disappointed by the scope mechanic, i thought it would be something like in RO2 with the scope having a magnification and the surrounding not, but they just removed the blacked out region they had in the previous titles so you can see the ( also magnified ) background and think it's totally new and ground breaking ( it's the same as zooming out with an aimpoint ). -
You don't downhill a mountainbike on a 100% slope anyway...and since you know that the bike physics suck you should have taken the long way :lol:

I know what you mean, you would try everything just to get some light into the darkness even if you have to burn up a couple of matches only to get light for a few seconds. I just noticed we are missing the basics here when i thought about the most simple light and heat source in game campfire >>> torches. There should be enough cloth ( dead zeds ) and fuel ( oil, gasoline or a mix iif you don't have the proper fuel? ) around to create some of them or even in my case when i didn't need the cone of light my flash light made i just removed the cap and used it as a makeshift torch. You might want to add it. -
I was referring in cheap as in price difference. Who knows about the stamp...customers are fooled nowadays. A product made outside the EU and packed here can still be labeled made in "name of the country". It might be assembled here...but..OT.. But iron sights are really among the most reliable of all devices you can have otherwise you would have a backup aimpoint instead of back up iron sights. No batteries, stays true if not tampered with unlike an aftermarket scope that has to be sighted first unless it has already been sold with a zeroed one.

and multiple boxes of Hornady Zombie Max... Nah don't compare a rather cheap air rifle to a RS one...that stuff is made in China. But somehow the sights on my cheapest ( 50€) air rifle are still in place and accurate as well as that scope that came with it.

So is the zombie genre...ground breaking huh? While the DayZ zeds are "realistic" compared to the undead ones if you consider the bathsalts incidents as zombie behaviour cases in DayZ with a virus instead of a drug. I'm sure reloading a crossbow would be a pain in the ass, shooting a bow would go much faster imo. But the advantage is clear, it's quiet and quite accurate for it's purpose but doesn't reach far. So far this is one of the weapons that has a built in balance compared to the .50 you can carrry around like a toy gun. Choosing quivers with different arrows could work like changing mag ( ammo ) types right now.

I dare to say that there should be some good scopes on bolt action hunting rifles such as the CZ...but not some "million dollar" scope for like a .50 or .406 military sniper rifle or expensive rifles at all. You must think like a Chernarussian in this case, would a person from there dress up his gun like you average american gun owner who has a M4 or simething with rails in his posession? They would go for the practical things that do the jobs for the least money. If Chernarus was a like a modern western industrial state filled with villas that go in the millions ( usd of course not russian rubles ) i would have nothing against finding some more valuable or even imported goods, rifles, vehicles or something in that direction.

I wonder how many million you need to actually have an effect since a candle is already a hundredfold brighter than one bug and it still isn't enough to see further than a couple of meters, now imagine jar filled with bugs with only the ones on the edge of the glass beeing usable since the others are hidden behind them. I'm sure it would make you a fine target like people running around with chem sticks ( without lighting up the area ). Mostly impractical imo. About auroras as a light source.....a lightning is much brighter although significantly shorter but Chernarus isn't far enough in the northern region anyway. I do like the ideas like weather and payload for vehicles. -
The small ones are the most underestimated and dangerous...

Eeeehhhh...try to use a gamepad or some other analog device? But CC doesn't save you from having to clutch and shift if you drive stick...like i do because my pony came with one. You actually have three afaik. But everyone just uses the sprint key and keep tapping it to keep a certain speed and mostly crash because they can't really control it when the roads become narrow and twisted. -
The guy who shoots others should have a 10m evil smilie hovering 100m above his head like some Evolution servers mark teamkillers........for the rest of the lif that avatar has.

Most players can't even drive a car safely over the roads of Chernarus or whatever map they are playing on...you want to give them even more work to do?? :lol: I'd love to have an extra action in order to start a vehicles instead of just pressing a button/flipping a stick etc. I saw this in one of those ww2 missions i played with some people the other day. -

Without lighting you would still see crap whats in front of you light pollution or not. No light no sight, even a full moon doesn't always help everything is still quite grey like it is in the game, if people would just turn off their room lighting they would probably see a bit more. OP has some good ideas, some mods already made some things possible. They should have a competition so players can have their content added to the game provided it's of similar or higher quality.
