Not really...expect almost everyone to be a power hungry munchkin looking for the biggest gun available...that's how most players act all the time in every game. You don't have to go out of your way to hurt someone only because it's an apocalypse, i bet you'd have as much trouble to even bother wanting to imprison someone only to torture them or run from firefight to firefight out of boredom as you can see on youtube because you wouldn't have spare time if you were in such a situation: it would be sleep, loot ( look for food, water and clothing ), sleep, loot, sleep, loot...or sleep, farm, sleep, farm...

McGuyver would succeed in making one... :lol: You just forgot some thread ( human hair is the best ) for the crosshairs and of course the almighty swiss army knife.

I try to stay neutral ( as a survivor should be )...why? Because people "playing" hero end up having the same playstyle of the "bandits"...they KoS just the same and you never know if a player is bandit or not just by the clothes or his playstyle...maybe the bandit the hero shot is another just another hero player who was seen killing another player because the hero thought the other hero was a bandit because the hero thought the other hero was a bandit because the hero thought the other hero was a bandit...endless circle of destruction.

Ok...try it again without zoom and crosshairs....then i will call that a mastershot. ;) :P I scared the shit out of a mate a long time ago when he shot at me with a rifle knowing i didn't have one myself so i shot back with my G17 and almost hit him with the salvo. But that distance is pretty difficult in itself already..so a little applause is ok. :thumbsup:

No really...many admins are too lazy to set up a custom loot table with lower military loot chances...if you look for hardcore servers those are more likely to have less military loot than the lower difficulty servers. And even if they were similar spawned players will be less aggressive since can't follow/attack someone without leaving the safety of a wallcam.

That's because the mountains, walls and other stuff that should be solid isn't. Guess why flashlights are more or less useless if you can shine through the wall without even seeing the cone lighting up the surface and it appears on the outside when it hits the ground. Lighting was better... -
You seem to be in pain...does the screen "shake" every few seconds?

Kickass PC setup and weird performance

Battlefield..."2km² battlezone" ( not really open world imo ) with low detailing considering buildings ( let them make a 1:1 copy of Chernarus and it will run as bad as it does now )...DayZ: huge map with tons of enterable houses and AI ( consumes a lot of power ) and it's alpha but i don't think it will become better than the other engines since it shares the same genes.. -
Let's wait for more character customization ( maybe even with custom faces like adding your own ). I wouldn't need to sew a patch on my arm so friends can ID me IRL so there has to be another way to do that in game imo. Normally you can be ID through your clothing preferences but if everyone plays soldier and wears camo clothing and a ballistic helmet 24/7 in a survival game even when given tons of different clothing possibilities in the future no wonder why you can't ID some one from afar.

What? I looked out the window at 21:00 and all i saw was a faint blue sky and everything else that was silhouetted was pitch black where there was no light...even a half moon doesn't give as much light as in hollywood movies...full moon is quasi day in there.

One good example is Minecraft when they changed the system entirely..threw a lot of modders "off balance".

Do you expect the community to celebrate every mistake they make? "Yay another bug keep at it well done" ?!?!? So far a lot was promised and a lot less was delivered or are almost 2M "survivors" wrong? You might be right there is a lot of fanboyism and the extreme opposite but a lot of complaints are valid imo.

Yeah it's kind of lacking explanation but if you right click items in game and try to create them it always tells you what you are missing. -
Yeah sure give a random bunch of people source code so one of them can sell it to certain people and they create cheats for the game...perfect. Then we call the game DayC. As good as the mods are they should finish the game first before giving people access to a not even half baked foundation. And mods should go through a quality check first otherwise you will get a lot of useless ones.

The stuff is built via right click on the raw materials ( in most cases wood when starting from scratch or in between materials when you have multiple stages ). You also need tools for most operatiosn and it almostalways has to be done next to a workbench. Then the game isn't a game for them i guess? Honestly if you only had one server to choose from because all others had miserable ping and you always have to play from dusk to nighttime what would you do? Play BF4 again or stop whining and accept that night time is part of the game as KoS is. And they are still in alpha btw.... I hope they only give the choice between 24/7 or compressed 24/7 values and not daytime/nighttime only. -
They want players to test light sources and it won't turn day until a million different light sources have been turned on.

Is this the first game from BIS you played or are you just blinded by fanboyism? It has always developed itself this way...the only titles so far that are more or less "finalized" are OFP and ArmA 1. ArmA 2 still has a lot of minor work, they are just lucky it doesn't show that much. And why did they add animations to ArmA 3 and removed them afterwards? There are lots of things you could question why they did it like that and not the other way. I just say they lack manpower and maybe even knowledge of their own system or they just don't want to admit that the engine is at it's limits with DayZ.

Obviously they are doing something the wrong way..shouldn't you first concentrate all your ressources to create a working frame then add the content instead of doing it the other way around? There are a ton of weapons in the game compared to features and bugs..alpha or not and even the weapons don't seem to work right. Come on fanboys bash me.

Maybe...they use the same theme but one is an arcade shooter with regeneration and instakill knife attacks even if is not bad as long as you understand that you can't snipe beyond 100m thanks to most of the map sizes and you have insta impacts regardless of the weapons muzzle velocity and if you look closely the tracers are milliseconds behind. The other game has huge maps and ballistics and isn't scripted like an action movie with quicktime events. And as i said you are forced to kill the enemy ( in CoD and ArmA ) in order to get to your goal, a lot of people bring that mindset into DayZ because they confuse it with another wargame. If you look up a lot of Epoch servers you understand what i mean. -
Why do people celebrate updates like they are a good thing?

Have them finish the engine first and enter beta stage then people can ask for content or features. It's still to early to ask for things or "be part of the development" imo because beeing an "early access" player and "able to take part of in which direction the game has to go" is an illusion. -

Are there US produced Tokarevs? I think that might increase the chance of those beeing added to the game then... Makes better sense than some .45 since that is not a common caliber over there imo but like many service pistols it's already out of service double to triple the amount of years of the average forum age. One you would see very often would be more modern guns like the M433 Grach and it's chambered in 9x19mm. A "second line" pistol would be a PMM in 9x18mm f.e. -

Don't put CoD and ArmA on the same line and ArmA isn't what the KoSers want since the people there can defend themselves because they have equal armament. And KoSing in ArmA makes sense compared to DayZ since everyone not on your team is a threat. KoSing in DayZ is just for the lolz and isn't really always justifiable. It's also written in a gamers magazine i read, most interactions are of the asocial kind in DayZ. Not that i say that every player doing such things comes from a low income no morals family it's the exact opposite.
