Cat food in blood let me see....will i grow cat ears and a tail and am i able to climb up walls now? In the end the one who had the idea to waste a good supply needs them the most...really shows that things are still not rare enough. You should be running for 8 hours in game and be happy to find one can of beans during your loot run.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Ia1VDp1320 ArmA has the blank rounds effect ( pretty big sometimes disturbing/blinding flash with a short area lighting effect )..it's a little helper for the "non combatants" among us so they at least have a chance to see the enemy. -
You forgot some things... -loot/fuel/water source drying up. no endless supplies for a certain amount of time. -KoSers should be more rare -need more complex ballistics regarding long shots -Douchebag filter -placeholder for things i forgot

Yeah but that gun is best up close thanks to the mechanism closing of the gases before it goes out of the barrel. -

Exactly...apart from the sound, the visual signature from kicked up dust is going to give your position away, the bang just that you are somewhere in that direction and maybe that far away. I you hear the shot hitting close by and you don't have a visual you shouldn't be standing there trying to find it anyway or else you have earned what's coming next... Even then you would have to be looking in that direction and be close enough to see it because it only takes a fraction of a second to disappear again. -

Visible muzzleflash over distance?? Hollywood anyone? Yay big muzzle flash!! Pah, mine is bigger btw..real world weapons are made so they have a small signature ( flash hiders -yes it's a HIDER!!!- reduce muzzle flash and don't kick up too much dust ) -
Haven't found anything like that yet...i hope they don't spawn 1337 weapons.

Somehow quote doesn't work anymore so... @ Mercules Sure some are tough until you threaten to hit them in the face. I don't want to fight either since i'm not that strong and i don't want to hurt people or get hurt, it was enough to persuade the guys that fighting isn't an option and if he wants to fight he won't get away without a scratch. The fear of being hurt doesn't exist in DayZ therefor no one holds back, that's one of the problems causing KoS. I try to play like i would react IRL, some get shot and hopefully don't resort to KoS themselves some do and join the dark side ( which is a lot easier ). I don't have to close in at every gun shot i hear just to pop a bullet into the guy but sometimes even i get triggerhappy over someone acting very stupid ( f.e. running around on a server without care as he was all alone and playing catch with zeds, sometimes i try to help by shooting the zeds cornering them only to get counterfire, yeah sure if i wanted them dead they would be. Most of the times i shoot the zeds and run, i don't get closer to see if the guy is alive unconsious or bleeding to death, not enough balls for that yet but we already interacted with other players by giving them a ride or one time even a helo we just repaired and could spare ). -

Mics don't cost a fortune in fact they are the cheapest device for the PC...just buy one or two packs of cigarettes less a day then you have your mic...not having a mic nowadays in the age of bleeter is like having no internet...

Batteries don't hold that long with that kind of power consumption. Keep your lights on over night and see if you can start your engine in the morning, my former boss had something small consuming energy in his car, it was emptied every other day. And backups only work as long as you have fuel to power the generator and if you run a generator for too long you risk damage from overheating and i want to see how many zombies one might attract with that kind of noise...

Didn't he shoot a full magazine at him first?? :lol: Well with handcuffs the ones who need reasoning/a therapy are those who want to (mis)use them in the SA... ( like cuff and log out to troll players but hopefully like every other player spawned item like a fireplace the cuffs will disappear on logout )

They should test how far grass can be rendered, since you use magnification they should just increase the draw distance so you can't see targets far away. Removing 3rd P would give players on foot an advantage of being more difficult to detect so you only see what you see through your window and not what is hiding behind any kind of wall or use reverse crest/slope as a peeping measure. We had the problem that tankers were so used to 3rd P they didn't want to give it up and even argued why they had to give up their superior god view so infantry could hide from them, fact: they didn't want to give infantry a chance to kick them in the butt. IRL you would have heavy infantry blow up a solo tank in urban combat, not so in ArmA where the tanker can see everything and of course is driver, gunner and commander in one person... Another solution is a blend in effect..but if your camo doesn't match your surrounding like in e47s first pic it will not blend. Imo ghillies should be more effective at medium to farther ranges because you can see "something lying there" that looks weird up close and up to a certain distance. You might not be able to identify it but it's not impossible to spot. -

Remove 3P then they will never see what they shouldn't have seen in the first place...that's the only solution for the "problem". -
I didn't say you were a retard. We all agree that we have to put an effort to get good stuff. But with all the catering server around a lot of players aren't used to "work for what they want" anymore. It's kind of "I like, gimme!" attitude now. On one hand you also want to satisfy those players on the other hand you want to satisfy players who want to work for their loot. I'd rather satisfy the latter group because if you make things too easy or easier you can throw off the balance of the game. We had a similar problem in Sahrani Life, you give the playes every possible attraction but they only care for raw material and factories involving the production of weapons and drugs, flooding the world with stuff like this makes players KoS all the time, what in fact happened. Nothing the cops couldn't handle in afct they were so good the "bad guys" got annoyed and always went to the GM to whine about it although the cops compared to them were playing according to the rules set up for them. What i'm saying is give players too much freedom, no control or a lazy excuse ( rocket: blabla no rules your story do what you want blablabla ) and you know what happens...anarchy.

One major problem is also clipping...you all know it from the zeds attacking through walls you can also hit the model through walls and unfortunately a backpack is part of the body. Imagine a backpack sticking and sliding over the other side of the wall and a new player on that side making a dumb face not realizing what it is and reporting a bug here in the forum :lol:

Add penetration thresholds like in LibMod. If a weapons penetration value isn't equal or more than the armor value of a vehicle it won't do any damage. f.e. Makarov has an AP of 1, M4 has an AP of 1.5, AKM has an AP of 2, HMMWV ( unarmored) has Armor of 2, none of the first two can damage the hull and hit anything that lies underneath but the AKM can damage the hull and hit what's inside, tires are always damagable ( Armor 0 ) Then you don't have to bother about being able to "kill" a car with an axe. -
Most people don't know how much work it takes to keep them running anyway...electricity comes out of the socket...it's always there.

Backups only work for a few days not for a week/weeks nor months. Even larger hospitals are in trouble if they don't get the main electricity running within 3 days or get more fuel for the generators.

If we had a lack of those full pension servers players would know what distance means. Most would even drive to the next grocery store 100m away just to get a six pack of beer IRL... Stary to Berezino? No problem...hop into your Littlebird be there in 30 seconds...

Narkoman in fact one just opened up...aren't they violating some non profit rule with making players pay for a product they don't own/made themselves/have the rights to? Donation or not...getting something in return is a an action similar to the f2p concept... On the other hand...people are idiots for paying those hosters...
