Because the earth is tilted slightly to the sun it appears to be south in winter and "normal" in summer. That's why we also have seasons in case some people don't get out of their cellar and are always asking themselves why half a year you have long days and it's usually hot and short days and it's cold. The engine should show it correctly right now because it's wintertime in Chernarus or else it's broken. Meaning the sun is southish.

What hardware? Resolution? What ping does the server have? How many players are on it or are you on low pop servers? A lot of factors to consider that could influence the reaction time.

And one thing to keep it authentic non domestic gun parts should be from hard to rather almost impossible to find.

If you want to do in parts you should also have to carry a gunsmithing workshop around incl. all the machines ( lathe, milling, drill, welding ) needed, a simple toolbox shouldn't suffice with all the complicated "stuff".

As long as it is not "modern" ammo. You can't just "make" ammo even if you have casings and projectiles ready. A cartridge is made of many parts and chemicals. Simple projeciles as arrows or bolts, steel balls for slings etc. would be feasible with primitive tools and untrained people.

If you never had to deal with hosting a server better be prepared to be slapped with reality. It's not easy and yet not impossible but it needs a lot of work before it runs properly.

I would have taken the route that takes me the farthest away from those towns if i had been geared up, i wouldn't even be looking for gear in there. Staying close instead of moving inland was a fatal mistake. Don't cry because you begged to be shot at.

They wouldn't even notice it when their virtual life depended on it, it's easy to oversee when you concentrate on a spot in the landscape. A voice on the other hand is audible and attracts attention and if you don't understand you just ask them to speak more clearly. Playing a sound on every chat entry would be a good solution but annoying in the long run. You have to stop every time you type...that's the drawback of using the keyboard for chatting instead of moving. That's why it's highly recommended to use VOIP to communicate in a fast pace situation. Imagine you had to type a page of text to tell someone what an enemy wants to do...until you finished typing they have already finished what they planned.
