Qhy not wait until the SA is done and suggest a 1950 after WW version of the game...less tech..deadlier ( bad medical supplies no helis!!! sniping will be less deadly since those rifle aren't accurate anyway according to our weapon experts in the forum )...i bet that would be fun.

They also had one vietnam M16 among 2000 AKs in a container when they had former african rebels bring them back in exchange for a life in peace....i wonder how much 7.92x33mm ammo they have for those. look at the relation of AKs over every other gun in the eastern bloc and middle east as a whole ( you have 100M+ AK type weapons and counting compared to less than 500k STGs ever produced 68y of production vs. 1y of production )..only because they have 100 in Syria doesn't mean the other towns also have them stashed, i bet they also have WW2 tanks and Wehrmacht clothes there huh? I bet the russian still have some special forces equipped with PPSHs and T34/85 somewhere in Siberia... Fictional doesn't change the fact that is has the russian system or do you think a fictional USA would look different from the one of today? I bet your country still has a lot of looks from back then.

The time gap between WW2 and today is so big a lot of those gusn would already have been scrapped or be in a museum never to be fired again or in the hands of a few collectors. F.e. the price of a STG44 in mint condition would exceed 25k USD. Unless it's really stashed somewhere in an attic i don't see a lot of those guns beeing in the hands of a normal person. Yes the mosin is there too and also the Lee Enfield in the mod, but as the M4 it's presence in the game is also quite questionable imo. What would be very common imo is the AK in all flavors, Saigas ( easier to get with the russian smoothbore license than a rifled bore license ). There are a lot more guns that would make more sense and are more practical to use in an everyday situation than an antique that is expensive and hard to get spare parts.

Your fov is definitively messed up ( too high ) that's why it looks awkward, this can happen in every game since fov tends to distort the proportions if you set a too high value. 85° is just right everything beyond that will distort your picture. That's why they invented triple head so you could have a around 220° fov.

Post your specs...a "good pc" can range from a pc that barely makes the minimum to a top notch 5000€ gaming rig. Every person has a different perception of fuild fps...one has no problem with 20 fps the other has problems once they drop below 40 fps etc. My 6+yo core2duo can run Crysis 1 "just fine" on high and high/med on Crysis 2 about 25-40 fps and ArmA 2 in the editor with 5km view distance on high/med...and my current rig will still be drawn down to unplayable if i join the wrong server with like 100 players and never restarted for 2 weeks...although i played on a wasteland server with around 10-15 regulars that didn't get restarted up to 5 days and it still ran just fine, you could see some fps drops starting from the 4th day.

Ehmmm that should be well known that you never hit where you aim in 3pv considering the angle of your camera and the angle of your attack...

Even a dull blade can tear off limbs...just look at how much force the edge can apply. the cut just isn't that clean anymore. I heard a long time ago ( didn't confirm it yet ) that tribes in africa used to make wooden swords out of hard wood that could cut off limbs.

Rename to DayB (Bandits are scarier than zombies)
enforcer1975 replied to Mancomb's topic in New Player Discussion
Indeed it would be very hard to make a society collapse from something like that, maybe if it takes long enough but this is really a big maybe. Of course the outbreaks always happen so sudden in movies ( in fact with no pre warning time at all ) to dramatise the situation the characters are in. Who knows how long the apocalype took in TWD, Rick was in a coma after all. On the other hand you see how much or less it takes to collapse a society in the 3rd world countries and even there it's not always 24/ KoS in an anarchy - it's mostly tribe vs. tribe vs. warlord vs. whats-left-of-the-government but they still have some form of order. -
Rename to DayB (Bandits are scarier than zombies)
enforcer1975 replied to Mancomb's topic in New Player Discussion
And that's what he is pointing out. Even the crazy mayor built a community even though it just might have served his purpose as a camouflage. Even the "evil" ones will form "bandit societies" but unfortunately unlike RL about 99% of the playerbase is "roleplaying" elite soldiers KoSing or just because they don't understand the game. If you applied DayZ logic to TWD then the mayor should have killed everyone in that town long before that community ever had a chance to build up...but he didn't because he had family back then. He lost his way because he lost his family just like Rick does all the time when he has his crazy visions...and his son is a KoSer. -
YOLO - it's a game - human logic tends to get dropped when they double click the exe file. I wish that at least half of the player community were roleplaying the survivor aspect in a believable matter and not just apocalyptic soldiers.

Idiot idiot everywhere...especially on the coast...why can't they just appreciate the help they get?

...super rare loot with a super fucked up spawn probability system... and duping all over the place?

Solving problem of kill on sight - Vehicles.
enforcer1975 replied to Outroduce's topic in General Discussion
I think they are already up to it according to the recent uproar of the KoS community. More like the behaviour of some rabid dogs seeing a rabbit or some primates on drugs rather than human beeings... -
Can't see it beeing lethal or of any use other than a club according to some DayZ players logic...i would still use it if i came across one.

Solving problem of kill on sight - Vehicles.
enforcer1975 replied to Outroduce's topic in General Discussion
Give players they PoS ( punch on sight ), give them a melee weapon they KoS, give them a weapon, they KoS from a distance, give them a scoped rifle, they KbyS ( kill beyond your sight ), give them cars, the RooS ( run over on sight )...................give m them nukes ( the NoS )..no stopping unless you remove everything that can be used as a weapon and the ability to punch. -
Epoch trade system should stay the fuck out of vanilla and SA for chrissake. Anything from trading to pooping should be sone by players only...i would accept some ai survivors ( with minimal weapons though ) on servers with almost no player population ( f.e. the pve community ) just to fill out the gaps...but that would be borderline acception. I wonder how many traders will actually survive their first trade unless they have an army guarding them...not possible without respect and everyone thinking "yolo, why not just take it"?
-
Aaaaaah...i should have added *sarcasm mode on* <_< If they removed things that don't make sense or should really be scarce in an apocalype everyone would trade a ton of their weapons for a single can of beans.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7zoVIsIT2A In case you didn't watch it yet... Realistic...you could see the back of your head...if you could survive on a neutron star.
-
If you want a good game play wasteland...it has no zombies but at least everyone shares the KoS mentality and there are many guns and vehicles...but sometimes you find a whole server full of pve gamers sitting around a campfire singing kum ba yah and giving eachother a hj.

While it looks like it bleeds a lot the injuries wouldn't go as deep as when you stab with the dayZ knife. You might disable someone if you cut tendons or muscle. It's hard to simulate pain in a game. Every type of pain can disable or at least distract you, imagine when you bump your toe or shin really bad.

About as accurate as a gunner of a bomber trying to hit a fighter....beeing on a bike makes you more a victim than the guy who makes the kill...i don't know if people who thing this works the hollywood way every rode a bike, you might be able to pull that off with a 100kg moped but not with your average 200-250kg motorcycle. It already takes a lot of attention on a good road to stay on course...now you want to add melee/shooting and evading?? And of course without any effect of windforce...100km/h is not so hard but you shouldn't be thinking of anything but trying to stay on the bike in that time even if you had a windscreen.

Knife Sheaths, because Hunting will make knives matter..

I always carry me knife between my teeth...Arrrrrrrr. -
here we go again...fov is the same in both perspectives...at least get your facts right, the camera is just further behind making you believe you have a wider fov.

Not really...unlike falling from the stairs an animation like crawling out of a window or climbing over the edge of a wall won't hurt your toon because technically it's not a collision with the invironment. btw..a buddy had a collision in a doorway with me the other day ( mod ) which left me bleeding. The solution is in the animations like in every game...
