  1. I had a similar situation but in my case the body was there but neither i or my buddy got the kill....weird? The player didn't dc or pull the plug or whatever either, he took it like a man, well he was ill equipped for that region anyway so ithink he didn't bother.

    Add an L85 variant

Haha same idea, you beat me on that. And it still doesn't work that well... What we need is not another western military weapon but more civilian weapons to fit the theme of the game.

Knock out players and tie them up

I'd like to knock out a female player and tie her up ;) *duck* Good idea but whats the point if you shoot them anyway...you have to carry them around until you execute them. Maybe you can tie them up and let them lie there until their friends come to free them and kill them all or until he starves to death or gets eaten by zombies :D

Disable all chat but 'direct' by default?

I think they are happy enough that people host servers for their mod, on the other hand there enough in the waiting line only thing stopping most is giving them access to their server. In the end you can only punish them by denying them access to the hive, which some servers already have overriden by creating local ones. And you can't stop them from hosting the mod if their is no physical contract i guess. It' already gotten out of control. I don't know if this kind of breach of agreement can be prosecuted. @ Barronism There is always a forum where you can ask for help. Trying to find out how something works during gameplay especially in a huge game like ArmA 2 can frustrate a newbie. At least he gets a rough idea of how things work when he reads the wiki. Maybe you can talk him into it and might even find the game fun after a while...it's not the fault of the missing chat.

    Radios to communicate and broadcast

But It's really tough work, if you don't concentrate you press the wrong button and get the wrong team if you are using multiple devices. But it add a bit of a spy function, just switch from channel to channel until you hear voices, listen in if its interesting or proceed...

    People are assholes

That almost happend to a buddy of mine today...what the hatchetman didn't expect was a second machine gunner entering the hallway.

    Radios to communicate and broadcast

ACRE uses a kind of line of sight system. You can't broadcast beyond hills if you are not standing on top of it and radios had a range of about 10km or so, the vehicle radios must had had 25-50km range under optimal conditions. When i played in a tactical game i had the opportunity to relay messages because i was standing in between two teams on a hill which blocked their communication, that was FUN. I was carrying three radios btw.

Disable all chat but 'direct' by default?

It stupid to use the keyboard to tpye anyway. Takes you chance to react if something bad happens. And you never know who wrote something in chat unless the server has nametags on which is even more stupid. In direct com you can at least hear where the voice is coming from.
  9. We found two Mk48 today, one at a chopper wreck with a 7.62 ammo box next to it and one on a corpse, actually it was two corpses near Stary Sobor lying next to eachother ( must have been shot by a camper ). One had a Mk48 and a M4A1 CCO, the other one had a M870 and a M16A2 M203 plus pistols. That was only a small fraction of weapons we found...i also found an AKM which i was looking for for two days but decided to stick with 100 rounds of firepower instead. Actually it wasn't actually me who was the luckiest player that day but one of our new buddies who started playing the game, full gear in less than 2 hours playtime LOL.

    Tips

    Avoid players at any cost.
  11. enforcer1975

    Completely revamp Ballistics

Look for ACE, adds a new type of experience when sniping long distances. No wannabe snipers there. :D Ok it also influences bullets up to 300m, you can see that 5.56 tracer round flying either to the left or to the right depending on the wind. It is on only thing is it doesn't affect ballistics
  12. enforcer1975

    Cut down inventory space !

That idea is not new unfortunatly i hope it somehow implemented into the game. It was just funny the time i played ACE because a fellow player from another clan ran around and forgot he had 6 .50 ammo boxes in his backpack. I don't know the weight anymore, the funny thing is he ran a couple of meters then collapsed and couldn't move for another 5 minutes or so. Makes you think thrice if you really want to take a 20kg sniper rifle or 17kg of supplies and 3kg rifle and ammo in order to survive in days :D

    Telepathic groups of survivors

If voip would be forced you would at least have to compensate the lack of communication distance with radois ( which brings in ACRE, which on the other hand can be really bitchy after updates, and can be a bit difficult for people to set up and everyone has to be in the same TS channel for it to work ). If ArmA had something like a cellphone or radio system it would be great.

    Make czech pouch useful

I don't know. It could have been a bug or not but i had another backpack than a czech vest pouch under my ghille suit and it didn't show.

    Ghillie Suit DayZ vs. CoD

Who would tell you you earned the camosuit? I don't think there is a stall that gives them away after you killed 10 zombies.
  16. enforcer1975

    Herds, Classes (Kinda), Survivor Groups.

I don't think the game has a spotting mechanic like f.e. what i saw in a video in CS:GO "you have spotted a friend". Use certain skins so you can identify yourselves easier for the meantime.

    Looting your former self

Good idea, let#s take this oen step further. The further you are inland the faster you get back into the game because you can't reach that place anyway.

    Ghillie Suit DayZ vs. CoD

You aren't really referring to that snipermission at Prypjat are you? Come on they would been found out hours ago the way to devs let you move in that suit. Especially when you had to evade that squad of infantry and the apc in the middle of the field...those two looked like bumps in the grass. It's mostly how you use it, i can also be invisible in a normal camo suit. Just have to know where to hide yourself. ;) http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_KI3IRH6RxSs/SwNe4H6rEMI/AAAAAAAAAIg/tE1COVIec1U/s1600/CamouflageCouch.jpg I admit the ArmA 2 ghillie suit lacks gloves and proper boot cover but due to the lack of detail in the distance and ppl turning off shadows and details to get an advantage that's just something you can turn a blind eye to. Even when standing upon a ghille user most players won't see him unless gras is turned off ( happened to me many times during games with other clans when grass was on ). I almost forgot, i read something about them need beeing allowed to model everything as authentic as they did in VBS2 because this game is a commercial version so that may also be a reason, too.

    Needing graphical performance enhancement

ArmA can be really bitchy when it comes to hardware. In most cases the mission causes framdrops on clients and the server, most mission makers just don't want to admit it. A case happened on a community server i was playing where a domi was modified so many times it almost crashed everyone, it was unplayable. Then somebody admitted it that some ppl were right that missions do cause framedrops. DAyZ mission doesn't have lots of scripts running judging from the size it's more the "Island" of Chernarus with it's many trees. BIS said they tweaked it but it's still far from optimal. Even i have heavy framedrop on my rig specially when using a scope due to shading issues and it's not a cheap one, i got it mainly for ArmA, my older rig is still strong enough to handle anything else including BF3.. Intel Core i7 8GB RAM SSD + HDD ( ArmA is on the SSD for fast datatransfer, mainly textures ) GTX 580 That was the best i could buy at that time and i could still use stronger hardware if my budget would let me.

    Looting your former self

I don't mind getting your gear back, who wouldn't be happy? Most of the time people die they are very far away from their dead body anyway and most of them are hiden by their murderer. I also hide bodies so just people can't loot them.

    Ghillie Suit DayZ vs. CoD

1st this is not CoD 2nd wrong forum, blame BIS.

    weather systems..

You can have dynamic snow storms but unless you switch the map, yes the MAP you won't have it piling up like IRL, actually it won't pile up because it already has to be in the finished state. You'd have to switch them if you change seasons, too. And it takes a lot of work to change literally everything on the map.
  23. What would you people think happens if a normal person starts killing? Some might not be touched by it ( at first ) but some day it would really bother you won't it? Why do soldiers recieve mental and physical aid after and during to war? So why have a player who kills the first time have side effects from it ( use your imagination ), the second and third kill might bring him down a bit...but the more he kills the more side effect he gets ( not permanent but sporadic ), more kills and he gets delusional with side effects such as insane laughter and sudden uncontrolable moves and maybe he even fires his weapon one or two times and one day he just pops himself because he can't take it anymore... You two cents.

Inmate clothing for the next respawn bandits

Why would they be handcuffed? Who put them into inmate clothes? Why did they spawn with it? I can understand an inmate actually washed ashore with nothing in his inventory, maybe players who want to play the rockhard murderer may want to start like this so they can actually roleplay a psycho spreekiller. This way they have an excuse to play the way they play and die due to the way they play.
  25. enforcer1975

Players going insane on too many player kills

This is not about law or the absence or it. If a person can't handle killing a person or having killed a person is what's it about, even a person trained to do so feels something but is trained to suppress it but for how long? Even WW2 vets carry the burden of having killed people because they had no choice but they try to live with it. Of course some are trainied and we are "allmighty internet 1337 sniper über one man army players", but i would say it can and should be be part of the "human experiment" Rocket always claims this mod to be because you are beeing a person out there in the game not some psychopatic "i can kill everyone because i feel so and don't feel anything but recoil" kind of guy. Pvp is part of the game but there have to be some personal/psychological consequences for killing either intended or in self defense, because you can't feel it because you are sitting in front of you pc doesn't mean the character or even yourself wouldn't feel anything in case this happens to you in real life zombie apocalypse or not.
