Thats because it's not a jump and run/shoot game. You'll get used to it...i wonder how us OFP/ArmA players were able to survive the game...i've seen complaints about this and that in the DayZ forums only...

I played PotBs for a while...after grinding 24/7 and reaching lvl 50 with my 3rd character it became old...and all that for useless perks that don't really give you anything and removing player skil from the equation.

What do you want? Play the game or have it force fed to you?

4yo can be anything from cheap bough back then or the best of the best...my pc is 3yo just as a reference. I mean age doesn't matter if the hardware is still high powered.

Maybe something like JSRS soundmod or even Blastcore Visuals but in both cases the server has to allow the mods or you won't be able to enter. You can't just allow every mod otherwise who knows what kind of mods the munchkins will use upon connecting. But JSRS and Blastcore Visuals are really good atmosphere enhancing mods. With the sound especially the distant sounds that make a shot fired far away from you echo ( but you need cba for that and every server admin who allows JRSR doesn't add cba so it won't work ) and Blastcore adds some eye candy with effects although they are a bit exaggerated sometimes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL2nl1FbbFc

Exactly...not that they would embrace eachother when they meet in the middle of the woods but at least it at least a more realistic encounter from my experience. If someone decides to loot NWAF and hop to a low pop server after he found his weapon of choice to hunt bambi and friends he is still at risk because anyone could join the server including the same kind of players as him. And of course the occasional armed survivor who just wants to be left alone while walking through the wilderness searching for his next meal.

Did they already address duping? Someone mentioned he watched a group of five duping stuff in the current version? Can't have reduced loot with that bug around.

Tell me what you confuse it with... Like tank battles or waging another world war with armies and more nukes would be the first thing coming up peoples minds..

I don't want this game turn into Viper, Knight Rider or some other racing game with cars brizzling with guns..techicals are ok but as airgrafix said...is this a wargame? We already have a ton of wannabe DayZ boy soldiers as it is...we don't have to make the game into ArmAZ. You have vanilla ArmA 2 and 3 for that or any other mod related to warfare.

WHAT!!!??? R U SRS? This is supposed to be a survival game and TDM/DM game...If you want to do clanwars there are ArmA 2 vanilla and a lot of other mods suited for that.

I hope they water down the PC version too and wash out a good portion of the KoS while they are at it... Nah...wasn't that blurry. Blur is the only way to keep decent fps on consoles.

Let's imagine in case civilization as we know breaks apart...what could we expect? KoS 24/7 or rather communities that try to work together and make the world a better place again? I don't think the first will work long because people don't like disturbances. Second one maybe yes, it depends which part of the world. If you were in the savage parts of the world who gives a fuck, not very different from their daily life anyway, it would probably be the "civilzed world" wanting to get their old life back if at least a bit with all their rules and limitations to have some sense of security.

Just tried out I44 DayZ..funny folks there some KoSers but quite a few willing to cooperate..i even gave one my R75 sidecar when i left. That server had Wehrmacht as an "enemy" plus zeds plus players as allies but they can still shoot eachother.

No safe and safety net should have a place in the game...ok safe probably but no unlootable items...you carry it along you should be able to lose it.

I think we have to have something like World War Zed and they would still KoS eachother...

Not that it matters anyway...how many AK users are trained shooters? How many are trained to shoot single shot? How many are educated? With the mass of rifles and shooters it's like a jump and run fragfest. This picture says it all. In 1993 Battle of Mogadishu the US forces had a k/d ratio of like 50:1? I'm sure if the US forces had AKs and OPFOR had the ARs they would still have had a similar result due to their training. It's not just the rifle it's the guy behind it.

If those weapons were so common why do we see Tacti1911, Glockxxx, S&W MP9, AR, AR ,AR, AR after AR all over the place? Why don't mass shooters use PPSh, or scoped Mosin, Lee Enfield or even garand to shoot up people? They would be impractical and second...who can afford those antiques unless it has been passed down in your family? Even a "cheap" AR costs a lot for the average american let alone a glock pistol.

I wonder how many will my next gen console run DayZ threads will be opened in the forums.... :rolleyes: But look at the graphics...might just as well run DayZ on a 500€ PC ( http://www.gamespot.com/reviews/operation-flashpoint-elite-review/1900-6140901/ ) They don't have to water it down that much with the next gen consoles but the difference in quality and i think even view distance will still be significant compared to the pc..if they actually manage to optimize the game to run on inferior hardware i will be impressed and disappointed at the same time since they didn't get their game running on high end pc systems unlike other developers. ( there was this line i read when the people from the game magazine i read asked around why a certain company could make games that run equally good on consoles and pc although they were a lot smaller than f.e. EA - the answer was silence. You can optimize any game if you put effort into it. )
