Omg i wish i had a bag of chips and some drink to go with it...reading the thread about exploiters trying to justify the use of possession of illegal game items and compairing them with real life weapons was... really entertaining. And off i got to ban more of those :D

I found between 15-20 players with an AS50 TWS from thursday to saturday evening, two of them even had a MG36 and a Pecheneg. In fact i was reading the logs for hours while another was putting them on the list. Right now i found two more, and it's just in the window of 1 hour. I hope this is not another session of not playing, so much for my weekend.

That might be because you know him in person...imagine him beeing a stranger, he could be a potential "kiddie". And now the opposite. Our group has players older than 18, i don't think we have a minor in the group...( they act on their own, act rash, don't listen to tips, do the opposite of what you say to stay alive, they can't manage their in-game resources, they do things on the whim...they know they are unexperienced in ArmA 2 pvp but they still won't listen...i won't help them anymore until they are tired of dying all the time ( which will happen soon because they are beeing "tested" ), i just say "See what happens?" Sometimes you think you are in a kindergarden. So much for "age and maturity"...

I guess they just don't want the trouble that comes with it when they let someone play a game he isn't supposed to play. Others want 18+ members because they want mature player but age doesn't show how mature one is...sometimes. Having underaged players in your clan / group seems awkward to older gamers. And what milsims did you play? I can't recall having heard of any other "milsims" than OFP ( not Dragon Rising ) / ArmA.

Seems he is a hacker. Check the ID from my logs with yours, he might be using different names. At least some hackers are more creative... we found one with a Pecheneg ( which is a russian gun ) ..i didn't even remember seeing such a weapon in the original game...maybe i just didn't play enough on the russian side.

BE doen't even know how to control itself. The most secure way is an admin reading the logs and dealing with the players personally. Even then a "BE guid block" doesn't work all the time ( we found out that players we added to the list because they used forbidden weapons still connected to the server after some time, they were blocked at first or something is wrong with BE which is a possibility ) so you have to do it "manually".

I doubt it will come that soon. The only solution so far is to delay the restart as far as possible. Of course every server takes a different hit in performance.

We ban them too, and everyone else who owns a hacked weapon ( like AS50 TWS and things that give you a major advantage and aren't in the mission ) or behaving in a way that isn't fair play ( immediate DC ). Hell i don't even think they will post something admitting they used a hacked weapon or even hacking it in just to get a higher kill count which gives you nothing in return btw...we had an unusual kill count on our server the last few days so after looking into the logs we banned 11 players for using forbidden weapons and 2 combat loggers so far, one is under observation. If Rocket starts to punish admins who admit they keep their servers clean for the sake of other fair players so be it...then he will be known as the king of haxx0rs.

I am wondering...i am reading through our server logs and i happen to find a lot of players with AS50 TWS joining ( some even with a PDW SD ) I only became curious because there was a lot of player killing on our server the last few days. Are they on sale somewhere?

That stuff is legal I think i will be spending the night reading logs to "filter" unwelcome weapon users.

Some might not even know how do do that...problem aren't many "old admins" around who know every single detail on how to set up a server.

This is ArmA, this can happen. If you can't take it you have to stop playing.

You don't even need a script if you don't want to lose. You just ALT-F4. Way too many players doing that...even one or two in our group are starting to use the same tactic when attacked with players...have to gather the group and have a chat about that.

Guys should be happy he is using the old engine, my only hope is that he doesn't release a roled back version. Because that's what gave ArmA a bad reputation: they removed all the bugs with the lastest patch for ArmA 1 but they started ArmA 2 from zero with all the bugs that were in ArmA 1 when it was released. I doubt ArmA 3 will be playable in the first quarter maybe even in the first half year. And i have been playing OFP, ArmA 1 and 2, so i know what i am talking about.

A box of beans for you. OT: With A.C.E. it's really easy to hit a target with the AWS at more than double the view distance in DayZ. I had a bullet hit 1m in front of a fellow player when he doubted i could actually hit a spot that far with wind ( i asked him if i could shot next to him of course, they didn't even hear the gun anymore ). Rocket could easily script them in. f.e. if a player uses a weapon not in the legit list it is deleted...perhaps because he doesn't want every second thread be a "server took ny hacked weapon away boohoo" thread.

Must have something to do with items having numbers with more that 6 diggits. I read they solved the problem a few patches earlier...seems they didn't or patched it back in. At least it gives you something to do after a server restart.

Depends on the server admin...you never know if someone joining your server with hacked items is the one who hacked them in..so just to be sure *warn/kick* We had a couple of hackers a few days ago. After looking through the logs we found out that three had hacked items ( M107 TWS / KSVK / MakarovSD*** just to name a few ) and three were involved when someone spawned a helicopter, coincidence? They did recieve a ban and were reported, after that we had no problems with hacking, but i wonder if the report will actually be read. ***Makarov is puny and doesn't throw off the balance that much, as an admin you must judge by yourself.

But officer, i found the drugs on the street so they must have been legal since they are in the country..

Stop typing...thats why Rocket enabled VOIP and BIS making it even better quality wise in the next ArmA patch...

If you actually manage to break your skin with a fractured bone you have other problems than having to pop it back...serious fleshwound, infection, surgery, rehab etc. I would count the broken bone icon not only as a "broken" leg. It could be any type of immobilizing injury.
